The Biggest Snub

Ray and Melo are by far the biggest snubs. I can't imagine anyone thinking that Josh Howard is a better player than Ray, makes no sense to me.

Michael Redd, in my opinion. He just got overlooked because of his injury, and because milwaukee is a small market. I mean the guy is averaging 27.7 ppg, he is the highest scoring player in the east (57), and he gets better and better every year.

Well, I voted for Joe Johnson. The guy regularly faces double and triple teams because the Hawks suck, but he still manages to put up great numbers. Don't forget too that he plays in the Eastern Conference, so that considered, he should definetly be an all-star.

He also plays good defense, but nobody ever watches the Hawks, so it goes unnoticed.

I'm not saying it's really a snub...i think the other forwards deserve to be there, but Brand is the closest to being an All-Star.

Haven't followed the Clippers since like early this season, but is he still playing somewhat below par? Are those numbers, 21ppg 9rpg 2.2bpg and 56% FG exactly only what they are, just stats (ie. their nice numbers, but he isn't making much of an impact)?

I don't see the explosiveness of Brand this year like I did last year. Last year he was looking very fit on the court, exploding with his rebounds and blocked shots, not to mention Kaman's and Cassell's performance were making a big impact with the Clippers last year. This year Elton started kind of slow, maybe because of playing summer ball in Europe. But, he has been playing alot better lately.

I agree that Brand deserves some mention but when you look at all the forwards in the West, it's the hardest spot to pick.
I think the biggest snub is Ray Allen. The punch hurt Melo's chances and for Howard, it's like I said, there is a lot of talent to pick from for forwards in the West.

Being a Bulls fan I was hoping Gordon would get selected and I thought Josh Howard deserved to be named to the Western squad, though hopefully he'll make it as an injury replacement. Anthony can still be named as a replacement too but for now I'll say he was the biggest snub. I can't remember the last time the league's leading scorer at the All-Star break wasn't named to an All-Star team; I'm guessing it would be going back a long way because I don't recall it happening in the last couple of decades.

Yeah, it would be the first time in league history the leading scorer isn't in the ASG.

I'd say Melo was the biggest snub, but he blew it. He was finally getting the respect he deserved at the start of the season, even having some Lebron stans I know wondering who is really the better player. But like I said, he blew it. In a league that blows everything out of poportion you just can't go and throw a punch, especially not in a big market city. If this had happened in a city with a smaller market the suspension would have been smaller as well. But yeah, Melos an idiot plain and simple. Better luck next year.

I really can't say anybody got snubbed, everybody on both teams earned their spots. Maybe Shaq shouldn't have made it, but hey who wouldn't like to see the big man cross someone over again? lmao

In my opinion, anyone who sits out 15 games before the all-star break does not deserve to be named to the all-star team, regardless of their stats. I'm wondering if the coaches feel the same way, considering Ray Allen has missed 10 games and Michael Redd has missed 14 games as well.

David Stern mentioned that he wouldn't take the Carmelo suspension into thought when selecting the two injury replacements in the West, so I'm assuming he will be picked.

But Melo deserves it more. He's the leader scorer in the league. You can't say he doesn't deserve to be in the ASG because he threw a punch. That's like saying Kobe doesn't deserve to be there because he got accused of rape a couple years ago or Iverson because he has a criminal record . It's not a valid argument, IMO.
