So the rivalry between Deron Williams and Chris Paul is a lot better this year. Who would you think is the better of the two, I'm still leaning on Paul because he is just a perfect Point Guard, he is very similar to Steve Nash yet he has better defensive skills. Although Deron is still good and i think he will keep improving. Its good to see a point guard rivalry, most of the rivalries these days are between big men or swing men good to see the little guys heating it up.

i like deron due to his big frame.... as u saw in the game against milwaukee, he can do everything that paul can... only he's bigger.... it's like comparing james and kobe.... two swingmen that play two different types of games
PPL r a little feisty these days:D

NAH!! CP3 is quicker.. much more athletic.. has better court awareness.. better shot selection.. better shooting range and accuracy.. better defense.. better ballhandling.. knows where to be on both offense and defense..

The only part that DERON can oumatch CP3 is the looks.. YUP!! DERON looks better than CP3.. BUT.. IN PERFORMANCE.. Deron is waaaaaaaaay behind CP3..

Even though Deron's improved tremendously, it's still a big mistake by Utah to pick him over Chris Paul. Even if Deron ever catches up to Paul stats-wise, I'd still pick CP for his leadership.

I don't know man. I read in this nba.com report of the rookie photoshoot last year that Chris Paul could have been a model according to some of the photographers.
But hey what do I know, I'm straight so I don't rank players by their looks.

No Williams is a way better shooter and better on defense. Go look at their head to head matchups from last season. Do your research before you come post some stupid crap. Im getting sick of these 12 year olds. How about all of you? Also Paul did not want to play in utah and I dont know how he would do in Jerry Sloan's system anyway. But to say he is way better than Williams.... you have obviously been brain washed and have not watched D-Will at all this season. What team has the better record again? With their best defensive player and one of their best shooters on the IL?

Or you may have been brainwashed and haven't seen Paul this season? You're obviously a Utah fan, so I can understand the bias, but really, Paul is a phenomenal player. But Williams is a very good player too.

There is really not that much space between them.

cyanide wrote:...haven't seen Paul this season?

I look at his box scores alot. I like both I would rather have Deron because he is a better shooter and his size. But it will come down to who's team has better record at the end of the season.

Hornets since CP. 44-47

Jazz since Williams 49-42

based on what.... the fact that cp3 led the hornets to a dream season last year... u can't judge a player by one season u know... it's not like i said cp3 was crap or anything... i just said i like williams better because of his bigger frame they have a similar skill set...
NAH!! CP3 is quicker.. much more athletic.. has better court awareness.. better shot selection.. better shooting range and accuracy.. better defense.. better ballhandling.. knows where to be on both offense and defense..

that's just crap and plain ignorant of you.... for the fact, williams has better defense, better athleticism, and better shoothing range than paul.... did u even watch any games before making that ignorant comment?

Thank you kinokong. Thats what I said then people jumped on me for it.

The jazz just came back from 17 down to take the game into OT where they won by 3. Tons of fouls called (mostly on the jazz in the 3rd). Millsap 18 points 10 rebounds in 21 mins. Thank you for letting him be there at the 47th pick. Williams 25 pts 14 ast.

Everyone seems to think that CP3 is this much better than Derron Williams. As kinokong said, CP3 had a dream season last year. Granted Paul is good but Williams is being underrated a bit. He just didn't get to play as much last year but he's exceeded all expectations this year! The reason why Utah are first is half for the fact that the PG tandem of Will and Fish is doing great. (Y)

I'm not prepared to say who I think is better but Paul has done a bit more in his career so far. But down the road, we will talk more of Paul, Williams and even Raymond Felton too. These three PGs are the best the NBA has seen in a while!

The Jazz played great, I'm most surprised by their offense this year. If Kirililenko can play 70 games or so this year, and stay healthy for the playoffs, the Jazz have a good shot of coming out of the west. They're a great defensive team, lead the league in offense, and have the best front court in the NBA... and their back court is solid also. They're just a very balanced team, and can play at any pace. I think their bigs would give the Spurs a hard time... of course this all depends on who stays healthy.

Yeah it was a good game, Utah are in good fashion. Why the hell does CJ Miles start? i dont see the reason behind it, he plays limited minutes and gets like 4ppg its unusual. Deron had a good night but i think TJ Ford and Chris Paul had a better one.

Chris Paul got 35 points and shot 12-18 thats awesome. He also got 6 assists and 5 boards. I still like this guy over Deron, Paul was made for the NBA and i think he is a future Hall of Famer in the years to come. TJ ford 26 points and 18 assists, thats some awesome numbers.

EDIT: Just realised you got new Alternates, damn they look ugly. Looks like a white jersey been washed with blue clothes lol. All the new alternates look crap apart from Charlotte and possibly the Nets ones even tho i prefered their silver ones a couple of years back.

the CP3 vs Deron battle is easy for me. I pick CP3, he's just a natural leader and has the makings of a superstar/franchise player, whereas all the other young point guards atm look to me like All-Stars......the only player i think can crack the superstar list is Shaun Livingston, but obviously he has a long way to go.

anyways, Jazz 9-1. how long can this last?

They're most likely going 10-1 since they're playing the Raptors next.

I am biased as an illini fan so i personally like deron much better. But the points brought up about felton/deron/chris paul...

Felton-Extremely underrated simply because he's on the bobcats, this team is brand new and no one's quite noticed them. Felton in a bigger market would be deemed as the next big thing.
Deron-Also underrated but is starting to get some respect for his shooting and his assists. He needs to be more consistent in the NBA, but that'll come with time. He was the most consistent player on the Illini Finals team, give him time and he'll become a steady day to day player averaging about 16 and 10
Paul-This kid is stellar. In my opinion, he alone was the hornets last year. He's fast, he can shoot, he can pass better than some PG's who've been in the league for years. At Wake he was amazing and give it 3 years or so: with a supporting cast, he'll be the best in the league

It is way too early on all 3 to say "future hall of famers" alot can happen. But if they continue improving/learning the game like all 3 are; i expect them all to be inducted someday.

9-1 isnt a bad start at all. And they are atop the power rankings right now. Jazz are getting up there.

Seems like Brewer isnt doing bad, although he should play more imo. I went to most of the razorback games last year and im a huge fan of him. Anyone see that 1 handed alley-oop? or his reverse oop? or his dunk that killed the shot clock?

First off the Nuggets jerseys own all of the cheap looking Utah jerseys. At least we look as if we can afford descent clothing where the Jazz seem to bear washed up thread. Second Williams may be underrated but when you compared those stats Paul beats him in all the important averages like PPG, APG, RPG thus Paul is the better point guard. Good Day.
