LBJ still has amazing stats this year regardless, and his performance in clutch situations in the 4th quarter is usually incredible (i recall a couple games this year where he had near 15 points in the 4th Q) He hasnt had as many this year though, because the cavs organization is mentally handicapped.
I wouldnt say he's behind Melo and Wade in any regard

Even though he isnt having a usual year, there is plenty of time to turn it around (he probably isnt playing with team USA this summer, so he'll really shine next year)
What did Wade do? score 24 points in the 4th. What did LBJ do in the last 2 mins? score a 3 pointer, go 1-4FT's, commit a flagrant foul on Wade and got away with an offensive foul
Yeah, Wade had some assistance my Mr. Hughes and the cavaliers coaching staff. Mike Brown obviously did not make the right substitutions, and he felt that keeping Hughes on Dwade the entire 4th Q until the last 30 seconds even though D blew past larry every time.
Dumb coaching, sucky SG is why they won that game :-p (and LBJ's missed free throws contributed)
James can't match Wade's ability to lift his game and lift his team whenever an important game is up for grabs. That's why Wade has a championship ring and James has to buy all of his jewelry.
nah, Wade has a championship ring because of Shaq :-p, that combination is why they went so far in the playoffs. James lifts his game in several situations, and he is consistently almost every night 20+ points, many nights he has 30+. The reason James doesnt have a ring is because he doesn't have a team around him :-p

god dammit everytime i watch a cavs game i get more and more dissapointed. In the heat game lbj did shit. Meanwhile Wade was getting "fouled" left and right. The refs call absolutely obsurd continuation calls, just throw ball up after gettting fouled and its a shooting foul.
Now in the Lakers game today the cavs give up a 12 point lead. Then Lebron sits and the Cavs keep it close, playing good offense and not so good D against Kobe. Lebron comes back on and just holds the ball dribbles around then passes it up with 5 seconds to shoot, or shoots an off balance mid range shot with a hand in his face.
Honestly the Cavs seem to have better offense with Lebron on the bench. Pavlovic has learnt to create his own shot, and can drive pretty well now. As soon as Lebron comes out all he does is wait outside the three.
God i miss last years Lebron

Larry Hughes is a douche.

LeBron is certainly hard to figure out this year
to start the year he was dynamite, than he bombed and had some selfish comments, then against the lakers in LA, he had 38 points, drove the basket and no one could turn him back, had 7? assists, some rebounds, and on top of that, he went 18/22 from the free throw line.
This year LeBron is pretty wacky, his stats arent necessarily bad, but some games he's on fire - some games he acts scared to go to the basket, and settles for poor jump shots and doesnt really care.
I sure like him when he plays like he did against LA

.
I am happy though, he is getting less minutes. The guy deserves a rest and his team mates are performing more consistently than in years past, relieving stress off of LeBron, but that still doesnt mean LeBron shouldnt dominate a game here and there, and drive the basket on an open look.
Zydrunas is the biggest cancer now, with Varejao starting the team can run more, and it benefits the offense greatly, Z doesn't fit with our new team though, he fit great with the old one, but not the new one :\
Hughes doesnt drive to the hoop at all, all his points are from low percentage jump shots, when he's hot he gets 30 points a night, he's only hot 1 in 15 games :-p

hes getting sick and tired for doing everything and is stepping back to let others step up their games

now i call that being a great teammate

Wow... did anyone see that LeBron dunk in the first half. He went baseline and sort of brought the ball down and then brought it up and finished with amazing power. Kind of reminded me of Dominique. It was sick.
EDIT:
Here it is. Go to the 12 second mark.

Yea I saw that, great dunk, made me stand up. Kind of reminds me of the old Dominique dunks over people. Only got to watch the first Q and then last 6 minutes of the game. Lebron looked to be doing good, then got 'injured' by running out of bounds and it kinda looked like he lost focus from there on. That last 3 he missed was a heartbreaker. But the loss definately wasn't his fault, noone on that team can hit a damn shot.

ooops...choked again

Can't believe the Cavs actually had a chance to beat the Mavs. He probably should've just drove it in, try to make the lay and draw the foul instead.
Fri Mar 02, 2007 4:18 pm
they needed a 3 to tie......if he drives it in, all the Mavs move out of the way and let him have an uncontested 2 which would accomplish nothing.
Fri Mar 02, 2007 10:03 pm
That was a sweet dunk... Haven't seen one of those in a while. The hang time and the power at the end. As sweet as they come.
And not even Jordan could hit every last second shot. The confidence in closing games comes with experience and shouldering the load. The guy is only 21 or is he even that yet??? Give him a couple of years and he'll be putting those shots down. Especially the second one, which was uncontested. Every time a game goes down to the last shot, its always more luck than skill. Sure some people have nerves of steel and aren't as jitterish at the end, but the luck part plays such a huge role that you're bound to lose a lot of those games if you're down with the last shot, a lot more than you'll win. And there's no way around this, no matter who you are. The game should have been won earlier on...

Agreed, it was definitely reminiscent of Nique. Awesome stuff.

That's very true. Ideally the game shouldn't come down to making a shot in the final seconds to win or force the overtime. All the same, those were two good looks and he also missed a couple of free throws, something he's done more than a couple of times down the stretch of close games. Mind you, his free throw shooting in general leaves something to be desired.
However, as Charles Barkley said at halftime the Cavs really need another playmaker to feed him the ball and run the offense or someone else who can take and make the big shot so LeBron doesn't have to do it all himself. As a lot of people have said Mike Bibby would have been a great fit since he's capable of doing both. Cleveland would be wise to pursue him again this offseason.
Sat Mar 03, 2007 9:37 pm
i don't think Bibby is a good fit for the Cavs. He's a guy that doesn't really initiate the offense. He's more of a finisher/scorer who thrives when playing with capable big men and motion in the offense. Cavs have neither.
Sun Mar 04, 2007 11:05 am
He's still adept at finding teammates though. And even if LeBron was to remain the player who runs the offense and creates plays in the clutch, Bibby gives them a player who will take - and can make - the big shot, which the Cavs need if LeBron can't or won't.

Tonight against the raptors we saw some very promising things
1.) LeBron staying consistent as his old self since the all-star break for the last 7 games.
2.) Another very talented young player *cough* Shannon Brown *cough*
3.) A Larry Hughes who thrived at starting PG instead of SG??? He definitely can run the point better than Snow or Gibson can. Gibson is young though and a SG.
4.) Everyone involved.
It was very impressive.
About the mavs loss though, I didnt see all of it but from what I did see, the entire team stood around and watched LB.
Sun Mar 04, 2007 7:58 pm
Great to see Shannon Brown finally getting some minutes and making something with them, 14 points is good. Then we might see him in the dunking contest next year

who's a free agent on the off-season? if I were Lebron I would threat not to play and demand a trade if the Cavs don't sign up someone important. The Cavs are mediocre and i haven't seem any improvement from last year.
Mon Mar 05, 2007 3:38 pm
They could get Billups, but I don't think they would have the money to lure him away from Detroit. I actually don't see him leaving Detroit, unless someone throws a huge deal at him (like Memphis can).

I personally hope he doesn't do that as we've seen enough of the pouting star player in recent years. I believe his extension is a done deal so short of throwing a tantrum and refusing to play he doesn't have much leverage.
Mon Mar 05, 2007 11:54 pm
beau-boy04,
Seriously, what's the point of bringing up one and another old articles?
Are you going vintage or what?
Tue Mar 06, 2007 10:51 am
i think the cavs are pretty much stuck with who they have right now.
they are already almost over the cap.. and since varejao's contract expires this summer + the fact that he's probably their best forward next to LBJ, he will get his money.
that leaves the cavs with -ve salary cap..
only way they get better? trade + draft.
Tue Mar 06, 2007 2:34 pm
lol, LeBron is only 22 years old, and he just had a small slump this year, he started dynamite, and right now he's dynamite (tonight was the 9th consecutive with 29+ points)
he shot 50%, rebounds assists.
lol, the cavs are playing suhweet right now, too bad we got detroit next :\

The rockets got robbed tonight by the referees. Some BS calls in the final minute. Rafer had clean block on Hughes, but called for a shooting foul. Yao got tripped and hit by Z, no call...
Wed Mar 07, 2007 3:06 am
yea.. i feel bad for my man Yao, that weaksauce Z tripping Yao. what the hell eh? he just came back from injury! (but it wasn't intentional haha)
