Luke Ridnour and Adam Morrison got cut.

Everyone else has pulled out because of injury or personal reasons.

Do your research.

Good roster, but could've been better if players didn't have surgeries or injuries... Kobe

I think Hinrich & Jamison will be cut....don't know who the third person will be, will probably be caused by an injury I'd say....

I wonder what the starting lineup will be....

C- ??!!??
PF- Elton Brand
SF- James/Wade
SG- Joe Johnson
PG- Chris Paul

6th- Wade/Arenas/James

tough to call, but will be interesting....go the Tall Blacks :P

Hinrich, Jamison and Miller/Battier (probably Miller).. Starting 5?I'd put:

Howard
Brand/Bowen (he could easily play 4)
James
Wade
Paul

6TH: Anthony

Firepower off the bench would come from Anthony, Arenas & Amare.

i dont think wade will play sf.. he is a terriffic scorer but his height is a problem, as well as the fact that he would like to play guard because of his passing skills and such.
i dont think bowen will play pf.. maybe.. but i think he will most likely be a bench guy, so he might be a sf since they will have lebron and melo and then bowen just fills it.

I'd rather see:

C - Amare/Miller
F - Brand/Bosh
F - James/Anthony
G - Wade/Johnson
G - Arenas/Paul/Hinrich

Even with Miller/Bosh/Anthony/Johnson & Paul on the floor they've got a strong unit.

If Amare is 100 percent like he says he is, I dont see why he wouldnt start. Of course they'll probably start Howard for sure if Amare isnt his old self.

Oh, Howard is on the team too? Indeed he is. Craps, I just missed him completely. My bad fellas.

Hmm, then I'd need to see the scouting report. If for the opposing team I need offense, I'd start Amare. If I'd need good interior defense and solid rebounding I'd let Howard start alongside Brand. With Howard/Brand/James/Wade and Arenas on the floor, offense wouldn't be that big of a thing. They can all score.

Hmm, I think I'd start Howard over Amare in that situation. Let Amare come dominate off the bench.

amare said he's still at 70 percent so i can't really see him starting. i haven't see him play yet except for a few summer league highlights but it seems as if his speeds not there yet. he's going to need to chase people off the 3 point line.

i can picture this lineup:

c - howard
f - anthony
f - james
g - wade
g - paul

or..

c - brand
f - bosh
f - james
g - wade
g - paul

Nah, it's just because the three point line is placed at 6.25 metres, not 7.05 like the NBA.

yeah and that 80 cm differance is the absolute and only reason why american centers/pfs can't shoot 3s while a ridicilous statement such as '90% of the american centers/pfs can not even shoot from high post' seems just...ridicilous

If Amare gets healthy again, there's no reason why he can't dominate. Don't forget that Brad Miller and Dwight Howard aren't too bad of rebounders either.

You mean Dwight almost led the league in rebounding in his second season, and had a rebound rate that if he was playing the same minutes in the 60's he would've averaged 20 RPG? Yea, that's not too bad

Qballer wrote:Marion was cut because of a knee injury. Otherwise, he would've definitely made the team. I think some questionable players who made the cut are Heinrich, Battier (He's the Coach's Pet for god's sake), Bowen, and Jamison. I think JJ will make the team.

Why are they questionable? It's not like better guys got cut because of them. Kobe had knee surgery, Marion's has a sore knee, Billups wants to stay home with his daughter. The only guys that really got cut were Adam Morrison and Luke Ridnour, and I'd DEFINATELY take all those other guys over them.

Jae wrote:I don't think Joe Johnson will be cut. Kryzoaepojepfojwpefjw came out and basically said he had no flaws, and that he was a "star". It's the only guy as far as I'm aware that he's come out and commented on, so I think he'll be in there.

He also commented on Chris Paul.
Chris Paul has been sensational. He was very impressive the first day. He's more of the prototype point guard that most people don't have anymore. He can lead, he's got exuberance, he wants to learn. And that's infectious for everybody. I'm real, real impressed with him.

He loves him too, so Paul will probably be starting at PG. Also Carmelo has been praised for how he's been playing.

Would you really start carmelo at the power forward? I dont even think he is a proven Small Forward. Brand will start for sure especially since he played for coach K in college.

Players named as finalists include: : Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets); Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards); Shane Battier (Houston Rockets); Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors); Bruce Bowen (San Antonio Spurs); Elton Brand (Los Angeles Clippers); Kirk Hinrich (Chicago Bulls); Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic); LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers); Antawn Jamison (Washington Wizards); Joe Johnson (Atlanta Hawks); Brad Miller (Sacramento Kings); Chris Paul (New Orleans/ Oklahoma City Hornets); Amaré Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns); and Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat)

If three players need to get cut, I'd take Amare (isn't healthy yet, is probably taking the whole thing as part of his recovering process (getting back in shape)), Jamison (lack of D, doesn't bring and Bowen.

I think the starting lineups will suprise a lot of people. My ideal one is:
PG: Paul (playmaking)
SG: Hinrich (shooting, defense)
SF: James (scoring, there's no one that can keep him away from the basket)
PF: Brand (inside presence, defense)
C: Miller (very Euro, very useful against zone defenses with his shooting range, a superb passer)

Wade would be used as a 6th man, Johnson and Arenas would bring 3pt shooting, Battier hustle and defense, Bosh would kill the opposing PFs and Cs with size and athleticism, DH would bring muscles, and Anthony even more scoring. Too many scorer for my taste, I'd rather have another hustle player. I hope Battier and Bowen will be kept and someone like Anthony is cut.

Hinrich is supposed to be cut because he's hurt. Wade also wont sit on the bench. LeBron will probably be a playmaker through all of this, so Wade will likely carry most of the scoring load.

I agree with this, but I would switch Amare and Miller. Miller is more fit for the international game.

Is any TV network broadcasting this (live or tape delayed)?

C - Dwight Howard

Paul would be better as a starting PG, mostly because he's more of a natural passer and the last thing this team needs is a guy who's used to scoring first at the point. Not to say Arenas shouldn't be on the team, he's just not cut out to be the main point guard.

Wade also wont sit on the bench

Do you mean Wade doesn't want to be benched or Coach K likes to start Wade?
If you mean the former, I doubt it. Wade was the only guy that was enthusiastic when the USA won the bronze last Olympics, while most players were disappointed. I'm sure Wade is comfortable as a bench player if that's what it takes for the team to win, unless he's become terribly arrogant after winning a championship.
If you mean the latter, well that's Coach K's strategy.

I think Bosh will be cut if Amare is retained, or vice versa.
Bowen might also be cut, he can shoot and play D but he doesn't fit the athletic team that Coach K envisions (and they already have a non-athletic guy in Battier)
It's either Hinrich or Arenas that might be the last cut, depending on what the team needs/ is shaping out to be. Based on what Coach K said he wanted for a team (plays D, can shoot, athletic), Arenas might be cut because Hinrich has all of those.
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!
