the NBA players can already do all the and 1 moves plus defense, lol.

About the dunk contest, the best dunkers usually arent the young rookies. A lot of the seasoned dunkers can do all that the rookies do with nobody on the court. Its the guys who pull off the facials in games that are the good dunkers, and the guys who can do it more than just once a season, like Vince Carter and Tmac and Kobe. Besides, people like popular players, not younguns.

They should do a one on one tourney, or a 3 on 3 tourney where players who are friends could enter as team, i.e. Tmac and Vince and Yao enter as a team because they're friends. Or Ben and Chauncey and Rip or something like that. They shouldnt have to be from the same team, but just friends, and they can make up their own team names and jerseys and stuff, that'd be really cool.

Oh dear lord.. The majority of these ideas are just terrible! It also looks like half the people on here don't know what sarcasm is.

The only decent ideas that were thrown out there and that MIGHT be a possibility are:

HORSE - This would be fun although, I can imagine it just going on forever ala Nate Robinson style at last years ASW. I can just see it now, each all-star trying to do some ridiculous shot that they've only made once in their life time over and over again.

1 ON 1 - It would be sweet to see LBJ go head to head with Kobe (or even a good defender like Bowen or Artest.) But with the offensive skills most of these players have today, I couldn't really see someone shutting down Kobe or Lebron 1 on 1.

I think that the only REAL possibility is to offer a bigger reward for the dunk contest to get the stars back. Even though they shouldn't have to. I don't see why these guys wouldn't want to do this. Some of the best players in history are remembered for what they did in the dunk contest. Jordan, Dr J, Nique for example. If we had guys like Vince,LBJ & Kobe back in, this event would be a MUST WATCH type of thing.

i was thinkin somethin like that except they have random teams instead of teaming up with who they want..and also have everybody participating in the all star weekend participate in this.

I wish they involve more legends or former NBA players... Seeing them in any events will be nice, even better to see 'em play (Y)

Nope, it's depressing seeing the old, fat versions of your favourite past stars even though it does offer a warm nostalgic feeling at times. When they invent time machines...we'll go back in time and get them in their prime to go up aginst modern players...now THAT would be worth watching.

4point shoot out

I think Antoine Walker would be a perfect fit for this contest.
