Oh . I'd be ecstatic if Bulls got Simmons or Armstrong instead of JR.

I dont think the hornets have much faith in Marc Jackson, at least not past this season or next because they're bringing in so many young people. He's shown he can put up decent numbers with the minutes, maybe he'll be used exclusively off the bench because he's not decent as the long term starter. Perhaps this means they're going to trade somebody down low.

I'm also suprised that they brought in another big because David West was putting up amazing numbers this season. It almost seems like if he kept improving he'd be an all star in a couple seasons, or at least putting up all star numbers. Who knows though, perhaps they have a big plan...

Decent trade for the Hornets, except for the fact that they drafted big, so I'm not sure what they'll do with Chandler. PJ Brown is probably one year away from retirement, and JR Smith was never going to play again in NO as long as Bryon Scott is the coach. Chandler has always had the potential to be a good player, and has shown it at times... maybe Scott will be the coach that gets through to him.

An okay trade, Chicago probably wont want either player for their roster next season and will look to trade. Their main objective was to dump Chandlers huge salary and theyve done it. N.O. now get a player who has a huge amount of potential but no drive or consistancy. I think New Orleans could have done alot better than getting peja and tyson. Big Ben Wallace is looking more like a future Chicago Bull.

Even at this late stage of his career, Brown's production is likely to be more consistent. On top of that, his contract expires at the end of the year which could give the Bulls a bit of cap relief since they'll surely be signing Nocioni and Hinrich to extensions.

I'd be kind of sorry to see Chandler go in a way and wouldn't be too thrilled to see him explode elsewhere but of course if he doesn't show any improvement then the Bulls will have avoided a long term, expensive committment to an underachieving big man. At this point I'm not too uncomfortable with Paxson making that kind of gamble.

Paul Pierce to Denver!! Oh wait.. I'll believe this deal when i see some kind of link or it on tv. If it does go through, its a good deal for chicago. Pj brown is a much better on the ball defender in the post then chandler, and becuase he doesnt pick up fouls as quickly as chandler, can actually start games. Chandler in the right situation (ie with a big centre, like curry) is better then pj, but he's just the wrong player for them. Its like having steve nash in detroit, it wouldnt work.

That's what I'm talkin about baby. I'll take them losing to the Spurs as long as they go down with dignity. I think the playoffs will be when they really shine.

Um. Ben Wallace has not agreed to any terms with the Bulls. They're talking. Secondly..... the Bulls made the playoffs the past 2 seasons so how will it be weird to hear their 'song' in the playoffs? And, finally... this is the thread about a possible Tyson Chandler trade. Not Ben Wallace :|

I hope this isn't true.

You'd think Chicago would get someone better for Chandler, but, it seems like Paxon was just trying to dump some salary.

Well it makes some sense now that Wallace is with the Bulls, maybe they are trying to get a 3rd team in the deal or something to pick up JR but I think the trade will happen in one way or another.

Speedy is a great signing for Atlanta. He would've put up Chris Paul numbers for the Hornets if he was starting.

And how would we have managed that? There were only two big name free agents out there this season. Peja and Ben Wallace. We got one of them.

Tyson Chandler might be a gamble ... but you have to gamble to have a chance at winning big time.

As for PJ. Don't look on his numbers. Chicago should be excited to get him. Besides providing you with $8 mill cap relief at the end of next season, he is one of the greatest locker room guys in the NBA right now, a veteran who can teach your young guys a lot ... besides, I (and most of the Hornets fans) think Chicago will trade him to a contender come the trade deadline, so that PJ has his shot at a ring (which he more than deserves).

JR is something else. Consensus around Hornets fans is, that he is a spoiled brat who won't make in the NBA. He has to start to listen to coach or he is out of the league once his rookie contract is finished. He has tremendous potential and we all know thats worth a lot in the NBA these days. But he'll be failing to live up to it ...

We will see how this trade pans out for the Hornets, but we look like a playoff lock right now. Even with the team last season, we could have been 5th or 6th in the seeding ... this seems to be a lock now.

if this trade goes through i see it being good for chicago cause pj is really a good player who does provide them with cap space and as stated is a veteran big man that the bulls need. as far as jr smith i looked at his contract and saw that it has a team option on the final year so im sure if he will be tryin his hardest to get himself a bigtime contract extension. if the bulls dont like him they can jus decide not to pick up that option and have even more money to play with.

as for the hornets i was liking there offseasons moves until this. I thought they would get a guard in return wen they did decide to trade smith but i guess not. maybe this is move for them that is the beginning of more moves. or maybe this is the situation tyson needs that he will finally live up to the hype

EDIT: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2508889
it might just happen
