Allen Iverson for Ricky Davis, Mark Blount and Randy Foye is feasible as far as the salary cap is concerned, includes the least amount of players possible to work under the cap rules (without trading KG for AI) and satisfies the rumoured requirement of Foye's rights being included. I don't see Philadelphia making a deal like that, though if I were the Timberwolves and that offer was on the table I'd pull the trigger.

Iverson for Davis/Blount/Foye would be beyond abysmal. I have no idea why people even want AI traded, he's the best player that team will have for a long long time.

I think there's a certain infatuation with scrapping everything and getting a fresh start that, not unlike the infatuation with potential, sometimes foregoes common sense.

As far as that trade is concerned, as I said I can't see Philadelphia accepting something like that (beyond abysmal is right) but is the easiest one to make from a financial standpoint which leads me to believe nothing will come of those rumours. Assuming Jaric was to go to Portland for Miles the Timberwolves could also trade Davis/Hassell/Hudson/Foye for Iverson, which is still a deal I wouldn't expect them to make at this juncture.

I think Philly needs to make a deal for AI before he loses trade value. They've been mediocre at best with him, with the lone exception being the year they made it to the finals. I say trade Iverson and bring in some fresh young talent and hope to have a contender (in the east isnt difficult) in 2 - 3 years.

You can't blame AI for what the GM has done by surrounding their franchise player with others that doesn't complement him. Granted it's hard to find players that can complement AI, trading him doesn't make sense or a good way to attract potential players. If that ever happens expect Philly to be at the bottom rung of the NBA similar to when they let go of Barkley.

If they're TRYING to trade him they're not going to get anywhere near equal value. They already have a decent young core, it's wrong to ship him out just because the team is underperforming. It's not his fault, he's the only guy on that team giving it a go. He has another good 3 years in him, why not just wait for Iguodala, Carney and (hopefully) Dalembert to start playing to their potential.

Apparently, the sixers are looking for a fresh start. they're also looking at their financial situation.

Apparently, they're trading AI because they know they cant find anyone that will take C-webb's contract.

I think Miles will probably help them, and If anyone can get Miles to play like he should its Kevin Garnett. Dwayne Casey also seems like a more relaxed coach so Miles may end up liking him, plus they could use some more depth at the SF spot and this could shift Davis over to SG and provided they resign Banks that gives them a back court that is young and set for years to come.

But, this is all provided that Darius actually plays like he should. If he does I see good things for Minnesota.

I know, but when he was in Seattle, and this year as Minnie head coach, he seemed to not possess the same authoritive attitude that Nate always had. He seems to be a bit more laid back as a coach and that might work for Darius.

A player like Darius Miles needs someone who will sit him when he acts like a spoiled brat and make him realise a thing or two about being a professional basketball player. You don't reward childish behaviour.

It shouldn't have to be his teammates' responsibility, but I guess it couldn't hurt to have someone like KG setting an example and getting in his ear as well, but you still need the coach to be an authority figure. If Miles is allowed to do whatever he pleases and behave poorly without suffering any consequences he's never going to improve his attitude. Why change your behaviour when you can still get what you want?

In theory, Riley's the kind of coach Miles could benefit from playing for as he wouldn't tolerate the childishness and unprofessionalism and make him work hard, but Miles wouldn't last a week under Riley. He'd pout and throw a tantrum the minute Riley asked him to give it his all in practice.

Darius Miles averaged like 18 points and 6 rebounds, one and a half blocks and around a steal a game earlier in the season , so he did show some signs of life before he got injured.

Then again, this is Darius Miles we're talking about, so I suppose people shouldn't get their hopes too high up.
