I don't really care for the new design, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old one. Having said that, I will be swayed if David Stern does perform a Raiders of the Lost Ark parody when he takes the ball out of the box. More than likely though, it'll just be a photo op and a speech about how this is an exciting new development for the NBA in its 60th season.

i think the transparent shotclock mentioned in a link above would be a better surprise. if i remember right there were some changes to the nba ball some years back and the players hated them once the season started because they were slightly off somehow, they had to switch back to the old ones.

wonder if it's a nba tv subscription package with it's own tv and wireless system to watch nba games wherever and whenever. if not and one becomes available later please petition the league for a discount for me for mentioning it here first.

Stern did a good job getting the nba out of the rutt it was in the pre 1980's...now it looks like he's gotten bored and has started to over do it. I think his last several changes to the league have done more harm than good; except referee replay. Why fix something if it aint broke? What he needs to work on is getting better officiating.
