Morrison is probably going to Charlotte.

Can someone explain this to me:

Do they make this jerseys before the actual lottery? Doesn't that mean they have like hundreds of them?

I keep hearing over and over about how bad this year's draft class is... I'd say this year's class is about average. The only thing that's bad about this year's class is there will be no more players drafted straight out of high school.

Its the NBA, they're probably cheap jerseys made out of crap material.

Don't really know what you mean? They'd only need 14 of those, 2006 no. 1 for every team in the lottery.

Actually I think only the top 5 teams can get the #1 pick, I know theres some rule that your team can't movie up more than four spots and can't drop more than four spots. So I guess they'd only need four, and it's not like the NBA misses out on a chance to push their merchandise, considering every night in at least 3 cities is "throwback night," with at least 3 teams wearing their "3rd jersey" which they wear for only a select amount of games...25 max....unless its not selling well.

There are 14 teams, yeah, but there are hundreds if not thousands of possibilities how the lottery could work out. Oh, wait a second. Does only the #1 gets one?

And evey team can move up as much as they want, but they can drop for only a certain amount of spots.

Yeah I think so, but either way there won't be 1000s of jerseys.
Every one of the 14 teams has 14 different picks to land. So it's 14x14=196.
And just for the people who suck at math, there are 14! different combinations of picks, which gives 8.71782912e10 (! as in the mathematical symbol).

You're right, I forget its that they just can't drop four spots, but it can't be 196 possibilities.

I don't know how accurate this chart is, but it says theres only 86 possibilities.

It's been said before but it's worth saying again. On behalf of my fellow Bulls fans and the team we follow, thanks Isiah. (Y) The pick may not yield the player who can help the team to the next level but having it (along with making the playoffs and getting that cap room) is definitely nice compensation for losing your starting centre.

Nice break for the Raptors as well. I don't know about grabbing a big man when they've got Bosh and Villaneuva but of course some opportunities you just can't pass up.

Oh wait Kevin, you're right, my bad.
In theory there's 196 different possibilities, but the draft lottery has restrictions.

Toronto still doesn't have a strong center, however im hearing that could be jamaal magloire....they could use a guard like randy foye....however that might mean the raptors would trade down.

Why on earth would you choose to trade down for Foye when you can, if you really want to trade down, package the pick for a massively better player than Foye? Some rumours mention Denver and Kenyon Martin. Seems unlikely unless Bosh will be converted to a C.

Because then you don't get Magloire.

quick random lottery selection....this will no doubt change over the next month as pre-draft camp & workouts continue....

1. Toronto: PF- Tyrus Thomas (you have to remember that the former Suns' GM did pick Stoudemire & he did sign McDyess, he likes young studs & Thomas is one. This pick could be traded down)

2. Chicago: PF- LaMarcus Aldridge (would be an ideal pick for Bulls)

3. Charlotte: SF/SG- Adam Morrison (would be an ideal pick for Bobcats. Otherwise Brandon Roy could move up to this spot)

4. Portland: SG- Brandon Roy (they want one of the top 2 but they're gone, so they take the guy that will help them the most now)

5. Atlanta: PF- Andrea Bargnani (best available player, they need a PG though)

6. Minnesota: SF- Rudy Gay (best talent available, could use a PG though. Shelden Williams could go this high)

7. Boston: PG- Marcus Williams (a PG has to be taken eventually)

8. Houston: G- Randy Foye (they need a guard in a bad sort of way. Foye will help)

9. Golden State: SG- Rodney Carney (would make a great fit for their team)

10. Seattle: PF- Cedric Simmons (I picked this early & I will stick with it)

11. Orlando: SG- J.J. Redick (perfect fit - Jeff Hornacek-type player)

12. New Orleans: C- Patrick O'Bryant (they can afford to invest in O'Bryant. They'll grab either Shelden Williams or Hilton Armstrong with #15 pick for more immediate help inside)

13. Philadelphia: PG- Rajon Rondo (I don't know, call me crazy but I wouldn't discount the Sixers grabbing a backup PG)

14. Utah: PF- Tiago Splitter (Splitter is the pick until he withdraws....somehow Shelden Williams is still available but you never know, he could fall like Boozer did. If it's not those two, then it could be Armstrong or Brewer)

NB: I expect Tiago Splitter to withdraw from draft....

Haha, you aren't kidding. Hopefully they continue to suck until at least the 2011 season as Utah gets their first round pick in 2010 via taking part in the Marbury trade. :)

Utah receives a future New York first-round pick (lottery protected through 2010) (Tom Gugliotta trade 021904) via Phoenix (Marbury trade) Phoenix receives a 2005 New York Knicks first-round pick (lottery protected) (010504 Marbury trade)

Good news for the Raps, I read in the paper today that they're considering drafting Bargnani.

It's been said a couple times that Bargnani won't come to play for anyone but the Raptors, which means they could get him in the 2nd round if no other team goes for him.

i really hope we don't get him as our 1st pick...i'd go with Morrison or Aldridge....but who ever we pick, Colangelo knows what he's doing....

I'm excited as hell for draft day. This is definitely something good for Raptor fans, since this is like the first time Toronto has ever gotten the number one pick.

The Raptors have a lot of needs to be filled, but I think that drafting Aldrige would be a good thing to do, even though Bosh and Villaneuva are mainly power fowards. An Aldrige, Bosh and Villaneuva lineup would be interesting, especially since all of them can run the court and do some damage in a number of ways, although I would prefer if the Raptors drafted/signed a point guard or a more defensive oriented player.

I actually am not worried this draft since Colangelo's had a good reputation at handling these things. I have all the faith in the world in Colangelo.

Hes dont gunna help us cuz we already have bonner who can play the 3, 4, 5 and CV who can play 3,4 and some 5 Barnani would only play 4,3 and he isnt that strong
I think that we would draft Gay because of his D and he can play SF or SG
