The only way you could make an NBA team would be to be able to hit 90% of your FT's

I sort of like the power play idea which was in the original basketball rules if I remember correctly. If you get 6 fouls, the player is out on the bench and does not get replaced for a minute or some other arbritrary amount of time. Any additional fouls will do the same. (So getting 6 fouls will be quite deadly, but you can still put him back in if you REALLY need the player.)
Bored.

man, imagine the point inflation if fouls were unlimited...makes scoring 100 in a game easier than ever

well, if there were no foul limit, then I would imagine Shaq would hit the gym more often and practice his free throws everyday

*I'm too lazy to read every post so this might have been said already.*

If it were unlimited then I would say you shoot free throws with every foul.

Would Jeff Van Gundy say that if his brother still coached the heat? Shaq couldn't foul anyone out than, and also if there would be no foul limit, why wouldn'twhenever the heat play the 76ers Shaq foul AI hard a couple of times and injure him?

This is unworthy of discussion, I mean it'd never work and if it did it'd corrupt the game and make it way more physical than this sport is intended to be.

Seriously, basketball is one of the sports where speed and finesse can evenly contend with brutish strength. This would make it a contact sport.

The NBA needs to find ways to decrease the fouls in order to appeal to the casual sports fan. I, for one, value defensive basketball more than most people I know, but there's no doubt that the NBA wouldn't be attracting any new fans by uncapping personal fouls.
