OK, what happened to reggie evans? they ignored it. and we all know Kaman is LAC's star player. We also know kome hates Bell and was purposely being 'extra rough' toward him.

Suspension was necessary here. Good call by the league...so what, that's the 4th?

how do you contemplate? that's a split second action. it's not like raja said "ok, when kobe drives to my left, i'll strangle him"

I wasnt labeling the Suns as bitches for making an arrogant statement, I was trying to point out the hypocrisy in the whole thing. Nobody bitches when Phoenix makes bold statements like that. Every NBA player has some arrogance to them. The fact Kobe is so good doesnt mean he is more arrogant than the next star, its just magnified even more because of his game. Look at Ron Artest. He blabs on all the time about rubishness yet he would nver get half the scrutiny Kobe would get for making the same statements. If Kobe Bryant ran his lip like that I couldnt imagine what people would say.

What raja did excited me. I wish he wasn't suspended so the lakers fans and kobe can have more motivation...it would've made game 6 a wonder to behold. Even though going by today's standards...that warranted suspension...i long for the 80's and 90's when such play was not punished so severly. The more strict nba rules of this decade have degraded the quality of the NBA for me. Bill lambier shoulda been commish :)

:o Just listen to what he says. He complains about Kobe supposedly elobowing him to justify why he can clotheline him and throw him to the flooor. Its obvious he was out to get him. When Kobe made the move did he reach for the ball? Better yet, did he even really look at the ball?

@PHX4LIFE - I'd rather discuss this with Colin since its obvious at this point your retarded.

I guess I mis-read where the bitches comment originated from. There's hypocrisy going both ways between the teams. I personally don't have a problem with Kobe's arrogant statements. It's what makes him so motivated.

I was just tired of the double-standard being displayed by fans of both teams.

edit: I ought to finish my posts before cutting back to my homework.

I got the impression that the situation was Raja was just getting pissed off at Kobe. It seem as though he was thinking "Man Kobe is being a [insult]" as opposed to the blunt "Man I'm going to take Kobe down." Then when Kobe begin to beat him he just didn't want to get shown up and was sick of it. That's open to interpretation though.

Its not a really an attack on you more so than an comment on your posts.

Firstly I will say both plays deserved suspension. Why Reggie Evans got off? I have no idea. The fact he got off doesnt mean everybody else can freely go around pulling balls and giving body slams. Also, I would put Kaman on the top of the food chain regarding stars on the Clippers.

LA has one superstar. For some reason a heavily favored team is losing a series to them. Phoenix came in as one of the best 'teams' in the league. LA was supposed to just be brushed aside. Now that they are having trouble with them, what do they do?

"Hmmm, this is difficult. LA has one guy. What should we do?"

Anyways..

I dont see how you come to the conclusion Kobe was being "extra rough" on Raja. I'm positive you are probably one of the only guys who saw this. I see Raja getting wide open shots on the offensive end so that obviously not where that is happening. It must be that Kobe is being rough on Raja when he is being guarded by him. Hmmmm...lets see. Elbows & push offs=offensive fouls=loss of possession. I dont see why the selfish ballhog that Kobe Bryant is would want to lose an opportunity at scoring another basket.

Furthermore if I was to judge who "hates" who more then its obviously Raja. The action speaks.

stole that from DBs post in the Lakers thread. :) Thanks!! :D

This was not surprising. I don't get it though, frankly. Since when does Flagrant 2 always warrant a suspension?

I don't know if this exactly hurts the Suns however. Kobe hasn't been scoring because of personal choice. I don't think Raja has been the reason for his lack of scoring at all, just following the gameplan. Perhaps though Kobe will take this as an opportunity to "take over", which would be a best case scenario for the Suns, since the Lakers weren't able to win against them when Kobe was shooting jumpers everytime down the court. If they're not feeding it in to Kwame or Lamar, every miss will just feed the fastbreak. Plus I don't think Kobe on an "excited" night will shoot better from the field than Kwame or Lamar in this series..

Not only that, but Raja hasn't exactly been lighting it up from the field... somebody else will probably be able to step up.

Hopefully that makes some sesne. :?

kwame stands over diaw? nothing. dirk gets a flagrant 2 like bell? nothing. evans ...? nothing. kwame tackles raja? nothing. it's just because the god damn corrupt league wants the lakers to move on.

for some reason...it seems like 10 people have been suspended so far in the playoffs (Posey, haslem, artest, bell.....there will be more)

no need for that shit he did against kobe...obviously something got in raja's head.

EDIT: PHX4, theres no way you will be signed by LAL.

Great job by Raja, he needed to send Kobe the message that he wasn't going to take any more shit from him.

Another point I wanted to make....

Obviously many calls were missed when Kobe repeatedly hit Raja in the face with his elbows. Similarily, the magnitude of Reggie Evans' crotch grab on Kaman was not known either. I thought Kaman might be suspended for throwing him to the ground, as it was blatant, and wasn't even during game action. He wasn't suspended, and I would assume its because the league realized his reason for his action... why then is the same stance not taken for Raja? Why don't the refs admit that they missed calls on Kobe which inevitably resulted in the takedown? Isn't ejecting him enough?

I don't think they missed the 'hitting in the face'. The two of them were going at it, and if they called everytime than Kobe and Raja would be gone by the 8 minute mark of the first quarter. It was a very physical game, but then Raja responded to a bunch of little with a big contact, instead of more little contact.

One thing I haven't brought up. By the precidents set, then Raja should be suspended. But I don't think players should be suspended for one play like that. Kick them out of the game, but I don't like the suspension.

I honestly think bell should be suspended, but only if dirk, kobe and evans are too. i mean, if the NBA didn't see the evans, foul they are stupid. and the only thing i know about dirk was he got a flagrant 2, which is what bell got, same level of crime, same punishment...

It's not similar at all. The Suns have "bigger fish" on their team than Raja Bell. That would've been who he was refering to. Raja Bell needs to keep his mouth shut, he's about 1/10th the player he thinks he is. As far as getting under Kobe's skin goes, Kobe's "arrogance" pissed him off so much that he's got himself suspended for the biggest game of his teams season, while Kobe will be playing. It's fairly easy to see who won that battle. Scrub actions by a scrub player.

kobe and raja need to both shut up. kobe shouldn't be playing, raja shouldn't be playing, this whole series makes no sense.
