I'm sure it would be satisfying for Raptors fans to see him cut loose and find out no one will pay him what he wants, but a sign-and-trade at least offers an insurance policy for letting a skilled player go (albeit a disliked player not without his faults). Expiring contracts, some draft picks, veteran help or maybe another young player or two with potential. Perhaps not a fantastic trade but it would be something in return.

The Draft Lottery is scheduled for May 23rd, 2006. The Draft will be held June 28th in New York.

James just compared himself with Jesus! And told he would be a MVP candidate if the Raps would have won more. Ok thats enough. If he thinks he is Jesus then he should quit basketball and be crucified. Amen (N)
Are the Raptors low enough to get Rudy Gay?

Plus, don't count on them to do well in the draft, they've tanked in it since drafting Bosh.

Rafael Arajuo ><
what was so bad about the Charlie V pick???

James has drawn the ire of fans for having a "shoot-first, pass-as-a-last-resort" mentality, but has said that's the way he is and he's not about to change. He took it a bit further yesterday.

"I can't make people love me, I can't make people like me," he said. "Even Jesus Christ and all the healing He was doing every single day, they still wanted to persecute Him and kill Him.

"Who am I? I can't even pull a hangnail out of my daughter's finger let alone heal somebody. Who am I to think everybody's going to like and appreciate me and value what I do on and off the court. All I can be is the best Mike James I can be."

yeah he would really compliment marbury, francis, crawford, and robinson. That is EXACTLY the kind of move Isaiah would make though. If he gets to run a team, why cant I????

He's talking in the 3rd person, that's always a bad sign. Michael Redd has started doing the same, along with Ndudi Ebi.

Its_asdf does not like it when scrub players speak like this, as he thinks that its pointless to show this kind of arrogance especially if your name is as fugly as Ndudi Ebi. Its_asdf also wants to be paid 8 million dollars a year just for running up a basketball court and throwing up a retarded 30 foot jump shot when there's 20 seconds on the shot clock.

Why the hell are people doing that? I remember MJ was constantly doing it during his Wizard days and then I knew that he positively went locos with his egomanism.

I don't recall Michael Jordan ever referring to himself in the third person on a regular basis. I vaguely recall Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo having done it at times but not in a particularly egotistical way.

This guy is stupid for saying he needs money for the Bahamas... it don't cost anything near the 2mil he is making and obviously not close to the 8-10mil he wants to make.
