When i think of role players i think of guys who come in to do a specific task....Reggie Evans (rebounding), Bruce Bowen (Defence), Udonis Haslem (Rebounding) or guys who do a lot of things but in small doses (Jon Barry was a perfect example). Not guys that can be the teams best player in a lot of games.

Well, they can still be role players, as their role could be to carry the offensive load once in a while or something, but not expected to come out every night and do it. So I would still consider someone like that a role player.

So? He'll be back next year and he is one of the best role players in the league. Don't hate.

Actually...

Hoiberg Decides Against Comeback
18th March, 2006 - 9:38 am

Arizona Republic - Fred Hoiberg visited with the Suns but has decided for now that any NBA comeback this season may not be the right move after consulting with various cardiologists.

Hoiberg, 33, would have been the first NBA player to play with a pacemaker, installed in June after an aneurysm was discovered. He also had family considerations.

Yeah, he won't come back this year mostly because he doesn't want to play for another team besides Minnesota. Plus, he still doesn't know if he is ready. I'm pretty confident he'll be back in a Timberwolves uniform next season.

 Trust me, he did more than make a few open shots. Without Hoiberg, the Wolves wouldn't have made the WCF in 03-04 and we wouldn't have almost made the playoffs last year.

Last year the Wolves were horrible, down right horrible, and yet they won 44 games and missed the playoffs by about one game. Besides Garnett, the only other guy who was consistent out there was Fred Hoiberg.

C- David Harrison
PF- Boris Diaw
SF- Gerald Wallace
SG- Rashad McCants
PG- Devin Harris

I would have put Shawn Marion down, because he is a role player. But i didn't.

How the fork can you say Diaw is a role player as he's doing almost everything on the court (scoring, rebounding, passing, defending). I know he's no way a superstar, but he may be also the exact opposite of a role player
