Brad Miller basically plays like PF out there, he can be found all the way out to the 3 point line and does a lot of screen & pass out.

Their scoring & rebounding is almost identical, Z scores a little more and Miller rebounds a little more, but Miller gets 5.0 assists per game to Z's 1.2.

Both Miller & Pau have C height but don't play their games like one, so i don't consider them Centers truly.

I can't believe you put B. Miller over Ilgauskas. When you play in such weak as Sacramento currently is, you can play for stats, cause the coach allows you to, plus, you still can't make it to the playoffs. While the Cavs are one of the leading teams in the NBA and fights for the top positions.
And still, you look at their stats, and you see, that Z's stats are BETTER. Z scores more, gets more rebounds, blocks more shots and ect. +as I said, he plays in a better team. So don't be redicolous.

Dalembert is way too raw to be a top tier centre.

I think Marcus Camby is the best, but the guy never leaves the IR, so I'll give it to Shaq considering that there aren't many "true" centres nowadays.

Ignoring injuries they've had this season. Top 15 centers...

1. Shaq O'Neal
2. Tim Duncan (PF/C. Whatever.)
3. Yao Ming
4. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
5. Marcus Camby
6. Ben Wallace
7. Mehmet Okur
8. Alonzo Mourning
9. Channing Frye
10. Brad Miller
11. Sam Dalembert
12. Dan Gadzuric
13. Eddy Curry
14. Joel Pryzbilla
15. Andrew Bogut

Dwight Howard can sometimes be labelled a center, he would be between Okur and Mourning. If Amare were playing this season, and was playing exactly like he was last season, he'd be #1. Since Shaq and TD aren't having their best seasons (still top-teir though)

Edit: If you wanna be positions-strict and take Duncan, Frye and maybe Bogut out of that list. Shove Mihm, Brezec, and Haywood in there (in that order) at the end.

So...
1. Shaq O'Neal
2. Yao Ming
3. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
4. Marcus Camby
5. Ben Wallace
6. Mehmet Okur
7. Alonzo Mourning
8. Brad Miller
9. Sam Dalembert
10. Dan Gadzuric
11. Eddy Curry
12. Joel Pryzbilla
13. Chris Mihm
14. Primoz Brezec
15. Brendan Haywood

Kaman just misses out, and Chandler misses out by a lot.

I see Joel Pryzbilla's name being thrown around, what about Theo Ratliff? He cant score all that well but boy can he block some shots! (Y)

It's obviously Shaq. He has had monster games in his last two, and has progressively got better this season. He is leading the league in field goal percentage, and bumped his scoring average up to 19.6 per game (which is going to go up more with continued healthy performances).

Shaq is dominant again, and if Miami needs to go to him for points, good things always happen. They just have so many weapons that he doesn't get quite as many points as he could on a weaker team.

Dan Gadzuric over Andrew Bogut? Gadzuric barely even plays, and they're on the same friggin' team.

Meh? I think Gadzuric's better than Bogut when given more minutes. Duh. Just my opinion.

Lol, go quote someone else. Word.

Edit: Jugs, i didn't even take notice of Magloire, I looked at him as PF.

Interesting because I thought it was Bogut playing the PF and guarding the quicker talls and Magloire playing the C and busting his ass down low.

yeah his gray part is in the C and thats what he plays mainly i think

Lol... just yeah, lol. Actually I'm not even sure if Bogut should be listed anywhere, since he's only played like 5 games at C all season.

Anyways I'm off to buy a Yao jersey, since he's apparentely some sort of basketballing Messiah. If he was 8 foot tall, would he average double digits in rebounding?

LMAO at people putting Ilgauskas ahead of Camby & Wallace.

Ilgauskas can fill it up with his shooting, but he's an average rebounder and a poor defender. W/O his offense he has no impact on the game.

Camby & Wallace dominate the defensive end and make contributions EVERY game.

Top 5
Shaq (still the top, but for how long?)
Ben Wallace (consistant & dominant)
Marcus Camby (health permitting, he'd be #1)
Brad Miller (team sucks ball atm, but this guy can play)
Yao (lacks assertiveness & stamina)

Jae- Yao's averaging a little over 10 rebounds since his most anticipated return

Probably should be more if Houston wasn't invovled in 3 blowouts but even God rested on the 7th day

Seriously, NICK, what's up with Frye in your top 10? The guy has put together 2 good weeks of basketball for the entire season and you have him better then Brad Miller and Dalembert

Lol that's been like 10 games or so hasn't it? I have no doubts he's capable of doing it, but he'll have to do it for an entire season.

you'd think he'd average more given Houston's lack of rebounders.

Hehe, well the question was, who the best centers are at the moment wasn't it?

Well, my story is that I used John Hollinger's PER stats as a guide. Channing Frye is up there in the top 40 with players such as Rasheed Wallace, Baron Davis and Richard Jefferson. :o It doesn't really look right with Frye up there at #9 though does it.

Well Nick,
I had a look at your John Hollinger's PER stats, and Z. Ilgauskas is no. 1 CENTER(If you call Gasol and Duncan PF's). So he should be NO 1 in your votings, cause he does the most to his team, according to that. But if we say how it is actually, then he's probably 2nd.

Last time I checked Duncan wasn't a centre he's a PF. Stop putting PF's in your list this is how I think it goes.

1. Shaq
2. Yao Ming
3. Big Ben
4. Camby
5. Okur

haha damn the stats. that guy would be schooled if he went up against someone with a much lower in PER ranking like Kaman
