I think Adam Morrison can definitely be a starter in the league, let's just hope he lands in the right situation....somewhere like Utah would be ideal under a guy like Jerry Sloan....

Greg Oden has shown HUGE promise, but unlike almost all the other hyped up HS'ers, he has no exagerated ego, doesn't take more than 75% of his team's shots and wouldn't mind a dress-code (if you get what I mean). I think he's the right guy to build your franchise around but it would be nice to see him stay more than just 1 year at Ohio State (where he's going next year).

Here in Italy there are words of Bargnani at number 1...well, i'm a fan of the guy, he may become the next Dirk Nowitzki, but i don't really think he's ready for NBA....i mean, he makes really GREAT plays but he always end up with a lot of fouls problems. Ginobili played in Italy a lot before going to the NBA and was a really great player, one that made his team win. Delfino was a good player in Italy, but now he's not doing great in the NBA. I think Bargnani has a lot more talent than Nachbar or Tskitisvili (sorry for the spell...) but he may end up like them if he decides to make it to the NBA the next year.
Anyway, i wish him all the best!!! In Italy we need a guy in the NBA!!!!

Russell averaged 22 boards a game career and once nabbed 51 rebounds in just one game.
Pair that with the league's highest career scorer in all history and highest single game scorer and you've got the best player to ever have existed, 3x what Jordan was.

I don't know if he'll be one of those greats or anything similiar to it, but it's nice to see a big man being touted as the next something instead of a SG/SF or PG.

Don't get me wrong, Bosh, Howard & Stoudemire (!) are fine big men, very fine, in fact after Shaq, Amare is second on the list. But I mean, there wasn't much hype surrounding those guys.

In recent years which big guys have we had?

Kenyon Martin? He's alright, but anything more than that? Not really.
Stromile Swift? Yeah, he's on fire. Not to mention they are both PF's.
Kwame Brown? Where's that puking emoticon?
Tyson Chandler? Strictly alright.
Pau Gasol is doing well, great? No. Franchise player? No.
Eddy Curry is well...well he's in NY.
Yao Ming? He's yet to live up to the hype, he's nowhere near being as what he was touted to be and I don't see him being one of the best to have played the game.
Drew Gooden? Meh.
Amare Stoudemire is fantastic, then again, I don't have to tell you guys that. But come draft time, we hadn't even heard of the guy. He wasn't a known name, people weren't expecting him to blow up the way he did.
Darko Milicic, hardly gets any playing time, the team that drafted him just traded his white ass & even though he was taken second (!!!!), the names we kept hearing about were LeBron James & Carmelo Anthony. Even Wade didn't create such a bang during draft time. It was all LeBron & Carmelo. Milicic was nothing special at draft time. (Doesn't seem to be special even now, let's hope he can prove something.)
Dwight Howard, like Amare, is sensational. The kid can flat out play. Again, I don't have to justify that. But again, it wasn't such a big deal. Everyone had Emeka at number 1.
Andrew Bogut, well...let's just say he won't be one of the greatest to have played the game. I expect him to be more of a Brad Miller type Center. Now that's not bad, but it isn't great.

So you see, I'm quite glad I'm hearing this much about Oden, I'm happy someone other than a Euro/Chinese/Aussie is being touted as the next best thing. Naturally it helps that he isn't a PF, SF, SG or a PG.

Here's looking forward to Oden come into the NBA. Let's hope he can join the amazing type players like Bosh, Amare & Howard.

hm.... i just dont think gay will go high because i've seen him play live against umass... his hops and stuff are frickin amazing... but he is not good at shooting. and too selfish.

I never said it was bad, but when he was entering I heard he was supposed to revolutionise the way basketball was played. They said he could pass like no other, he could shoot three's on a consistant basis & would dominate with that height. Well, guess not.

It's not a knock on Yao, it's a knock on the people that hyped him up that much.

They got Szczerbiak and Pierce at those positions. Morrison is the type of player who is ready to start and step up.
Aldridge ? They already got a good, young front court. But it is a good choice for him to come off the bench.
Allen Ray ay ... can always use a backup guard.

Seems like my Raptors are headed into a top 20 pick.

There's Josh Boone who will work good with former teammate and friend CV3.
Or there is swingman Ronnie Brewer.

as for the draft, there isnt one standout player. it will probably come down to a needs pick.

I think it's going to be the international bigs going high this draft, maybe Lemarcus going #1 to head it off.

The problem with Rudy Gay is that the league needs athletic wingmen with shaky jumpers like New York needs cockroaches. Travis Outlaw, Gerald Green, Hakim Warrick, Joey Graham, Jonathan Bender, Tskitishvili, Eddie Robinson, Qyntel Woods, the list of goes on & on.

As guys like Gerald Wallace and Bobby Simmons prove, you don't need to burn a draft pick to get a decent SF, you can probaly just pick one up in another team's housecleaning or the 2nd round. Heck, Seattle got Rashard Lewis with the 32nd pick.

I think the draft will be the usual, dominated by potential big men. Lemarcus, Tiago Splitter, Bargnani. I think Adam Morrison will also go high because at worst he's Mike Miller, who was ROY. JJ Reddick because you can see GM's salivating at the thought of Kirk Hinrich +1" and a rock solid 3 point shot.

I think saying that to be a 'true big man' you have to be like shaq, there will never be another one.

I'm not saying it's not a big deal, I'm saying there was a lot more media attention on Okafor than there was on Howard at the time. I never said his play wasn't a big deal, if you look at the post I made, you'd see I was talking about how other players were hyped around the guys that have blossomed.

Howard was indeed the first pick, but he didn't have that much media hype. Amare blew up, but he didn't have media hype. That's what I meant, not that his play isn't special orso.

Horford and Noah, especially, are pretty raw. Noah shoots like a girl, I'm not kidding although he's quite a good shooter, it looks weird but gets results. They didn't really play much last year, but you're right, they're going to be good. I would say they'd be lottery picks in 2007. Corey Brewer and Taurean Green will probably make the NBA too...and these guys are all sophmores. If they all stick around for another year or two we might have a national champion on our hands

Davis is only 6'8. If he were three inches taller he'd be...well if not the next Shaq, at least the next Eddy Curry. He was killing us on the boards last Saturday until he picked up an injury.
