yeah, my man is back in the fold....maybe this year those bastard Spurs will make him their 12th man in the playoffs so he can get a ring this season

Marks doesn't suck, he's a fairly athletic big man who has a pretty decent midrange jumpshot....nice dunker for a white boy....there's some pretty mediocre big men around that Marks is better than....he does have the ability, if given consistent minutes, to be fairly productive off the bench....I know that won't happen, but yep, am happy that the Spurs are a smart organisation and re-signed him

Okay, now it's Pero's turn. If he can play SG, that is...

Im so stoked for Sean, i picked up the paper today and read the news :D

I'm still hoping Kirk Penney catches on somewhere....he had a pretty good run in the NBDL from what I heard but like Marks really does need to be in the right situation

Wasn't Penney on the Bucks' summer league team?

Andrew, yep you're right, completely forgot about Penney being on the Bucks' summer league roster....shame Bogut doesn't have any trans-tasman patriotism or Penney would be a certainty to stick....there ain't many top notch shooters around so he's definitely got a chance of sticking somewhere, especially if someone like Matt Walsh got signed to a 2 year deal....

Yeh Penney had an ok Summer League, he got some nice minutes and got off alot of shots. His % was a little down but its good that he wasnt afraid to shoot I suppose.
He missed out on an NBA contract due apparently to his defense (which is understandable because it is something he has to work on) but linked up with Maccabi Tel Aviv the european champions.
I had a wee chat with him after the third game in the oceania series and he was really pumped to be going to Tel Aviv. He has also been saying he still plans to play in the NBA and he is using the european competition as what he hopes is a stepping stone whilst gaining valuable experience in the competition. Apparently they have two preseason games against NBA opposition in the Magic and Raptors.

Back onto Sean, I read somewhere that he was considering playing in Spain or something this season where he could actually get some good minutes whilst making a decent living....the way it read, it made it seem like he was expecting to miss out on a NBA contract.
So i have been watching at reasonable intervals to see the movement of players and praying for Sean, until my mate told me today that he had been signed, i immediately thought it was with someone else but when he told me to was with the spurs i was really happy for him because it is clear that he has alot of friends and respect at the franchise.
Heres hoping for some court time, com'on Sean beat that 23 game season record (Y)

sweet MeLoCo....cheers for the update....Maccabi Tel Aviv is a very good Euro team and could be just what Kirk needs to step up his game....

Sean Marks would be a good player in Spain, probably like a 12 and 7 guy or something and provide great energy and play....let's hope he makes it to 24 :P
