I think insurance will cover it because Mash is probably going to retire because of injury. Plus, from what i read during the deadline trade, there's a clause saying his contract is off the team's cap if he retires due to injury.

Being a Sixers fan, I'm really happy that we re-signed him. That is ALOT of money especially for him, but I think we had to keep our young core together no matter the cost. For those saying that this will be a horrible re-signing if he doesnt average 20+ points a game and 10+ rebounds, you're pretty wrong. Dalembert is still young and still pretty raw on offense, it'll take more than one year for him to average 20 points IF he ever does. But what I'm sure he will do next year is improve even more than he did this year. I can't wait to see how he plays this season, hopefully working out with C-Webb in the offseason will help.

Um... probably not such a good idea for someone the team's just given $12 million a season to.

He"s a good player and great on defence but that"s too much for him
Sun Jul 17, 2005 9:52 am
Why isn't it a good idea for him to work out with Webber?

I believe Sam is more likely to motivate Webber than the other way around...

Yeah Webber is such a freud, he never works on his game. He just watches TV all day and turns up for the games.
I wonder how some people their conceptions about certain nba players..

Actually, my comment was more directed towards the fact that Webber is a 6'10 jumpshooter... something I don't think the 6ers wanted Dalambert to turn out to be. I would've thought it would be better for him to work out with an inside player.

Great on defense? I thought defense was one of his weaknesses...

I guess shotblocking=defense for some people...

Of course it is!

Well, it's kinda like how LeBron is one of the top players in steals, but he's still a weak defender, so steals doesn't necessarily = defense, and neither does blocks = defense.
