he is very good player but doesn't get the chance to show what he can do. larry brown is studpid and thats why i don't like him or support him. i like popovic because ginobili and udrih both were not existence in the draft and nobody talked about them. look what pop did and how they are right now. in a few years udrih is going to be a excellent player coming from bench or being a good starter.

On the other hand, if Darko gets the minutes and turns out to be a complete flop, it will be easy to say Brown did the right thing as far Darko's concerned, the situation with Cleveland being a different story. I have to admit, at this point in time I don't really believe Darko will be a truly special player in the league, but if the game he started against Atlanta is anything to go by, he could certainly turn out to be an above-average player.

If Milicic is a flop then you can effectivley blame Brown for killing and sort of confidence the kid ever had. Same thing with Kwame...both got chewed out and may never put together a solid career.

Look @the JO situation. Portland drafted him and he got ample time and didnt do anything special. Then he goes to Indiana, gets PT and starts ass kicking. There's no way that JO just turned into a good player in Indiana....he was that in Portland but never had the proper chance to develop.

That's what Milicic needs, can't judge him from the 2 mins he gets and 1 shot attempt. When he does play he's shown that he can be a capable shot blocker and when he's confident he can score too. Lucky for him since Detroit is winning we are very patient. Even luckier is that Brown will leave (please make my dreams come true).

Also note that he didnt play in any preseason summer camps. Rookie year contract buy outs prevented that, last year he had a broken hand. I think those games should help him....they certainly helped propel Richard Jefferson.

Perhaps, but if the talent is there and Brown is replaced by someone who will place trust in Darko and build up his confidence, he should still be able to succeed. Obviously, he's been placed in a demoralising situation personally, but he wouldn't be the first player to overcome adversity and prove his critics wrong.

I think the raw talent is there... I mean his teammates don't come out saying he's one of the best in practice for nothing. Also in the limited opportunities he's had to show what he can do (i.e playing more than 5 minutes) from all accounts he's looked quite good.

i wonder where is the door in being darko milicic...love to be in that guys mind having a 15 million per year contract.....imagine the things i can do with the money.....

i like this thread alot...it's creative it speaks out to guy who was bench and other opinions against a coach who loves to use only 7-8 poeple on his rotation...

why would you blame brown? has he verbally abused darko like jordan and collins did brown? brown won't be around long as you say anyway.

and if brown doesn't succeed, its not because of jordan. he'll probably go somewhere new and given a chance to start over.

personally, if both don't succeed, it's because they didn't have it right upstairs to begin with or had the heart.

part of it is getting a chance to play but JO succeeded mostly because he worked his ass off to improve his game. his was very committed to offseason conditioning & worked with nba low post legends to improve his game
