Odom's a fine player who is capable of playing the point forward role. However, he needs the ball in his hands more often which means Kobe's going to have to handle it less. If I had to choose between Butler and Odom, I'd likely trade Odom as Butler's an effective finisher which is a better fit with a player like Kobe.

i'd trade butler over odom in a second. they need another shooter & low post scorer instead of the slashing type style of caron
