T-mac has been dunking very well in his career, but the spaces between them is very far from each other...but he made sick dunks after sick dunks and it all look so smooth and calm. yet after the replay you can see him ripping the rim......

Pippen too has some nasty dunks in his arsenal :?

Well by that reasoning, Josh Smith's dunk didn't have the flair of the original 'Nique dunk, so he shouldn't have won the slam dunk title either.

Who should have won it then? You shouldn't compare him to ´Nique, but to the other guys in the contest. I didn't say that Barry didn't deserve to win the contest, just that his ft-line dunk wasn't as good as Jordan´s.

as for white boys who could dunk, i personally think tom chambers was one of the best ones.

The only cool dunk I have seen TC perform is the one over Marc Jackson. It is one of my favorite dunks of all time, but has he done anything else?

I was a big fan of Sprewell's dunks back in his Warriors' days....luvin' those tomahawks....

also a fan of Eddie Jones and Anthony Peeler....they were both good dunkers, especially Peeler, in the mid 90s....

yep, Kemp was a great dunker, until he porked up on old momma's pae....Dominique awesome too....

he wouldn't. he would have had some great centers in their primes defending him.. there would be no chance that he'd hammer it down on hakeem, ewing, robinson heck Charles barkley wouldn't have let him get a dunk.

Well actually I dont like Kobe that much, but you have to say that hes one of the greatest ingame-dunkers in the nba at the moment.

VC did some n1 ingamers but all some years ago. ( remember the one over the 7-1 frenchmen - just amazing)

But the best all time dunker is MJ. Just hanging in the air.

Josh Smith had some pretty dunks too especially when his head almost touched the rim. That type of dunks are really impressive.

Or we've seen even more highlight reels and have formed a different opinion. ;) Actually, I'd have to agree with this:

the thing is that of late..vc hasnt had many breathtaking ingame dunks, but like his first few years, definately..one the best if not the best

He's still one of the most entertaining players in the league, no question.

i know hes my fave player and i may be biased, but i gotta add kobe to my list.

i mean countless amount of times hes posterized guys, and the way he changes his body movement mid-air and adjust and still finishes strong is amazing.

theres also one dunk of his that sticks in my mind, it was an alley-oop set by brian shaw in the 2001 finals vs philly, Shaw just threw it up there and it was really high, but Kobe went up and grabbed it with one hand and practically did a 360 and finished on iversons head heh.
that was awesome, i beleive it was the number 1 play of that year.

i have seen dominique dunk on 4 or 5 guys before, several times. hell man when he played for boston at the end of his career i remember him dunking back a missed shot where there was 4 players from the other team standing in the paint. he actually leapt over 2 of them to throw it home.

My choice (TOP 3): Dominique Wilkins, Shawn Kemp, Vince Carter.

Did anyone watch the 1990 Slam Dunk Contest? Scottie Pippen dunked it hard from the FT line for his dunk of the night (!), but he got a suprisingly low score. Now, why didn't this guy never get any love? The FT dunk brought a win to MJ and Barry, but it wasn't enought to get Scottie out of the first round ?

Best in game dunker? Psh...Jalen Rose hands down. Man I love watching Jalen trying with all of his might to throw it down with two hands.

But in all seriousness I like Desmond Mason's dunks the best. He looks like he flies through the air, which is pretty awesome.

I vaguely remember that...

Pippen's dunk was great but he was up against Shawn Kemp, Dominque, and Kenny Smith whose dunks had more acrobatic flair. Pippen's dunk basically showed he had mad hops, but everyone knew that already. I think Kemp did some crazy under his arm alley-oop to himself which i still have not seen duplicated.

Barry's Dr J dunk won it because it was years later, the better NBA players abandoned the contest, so this was an impressive dunk coming from this skinny white kid shooter. Barry also had some slick no-look behind the head passes in the rook game. One of my favorite passers along w/ Penny Hardaway.

I imagined Rose putting a hole in his kid with a drill, not that perversion COOLmac is thinking.
