now he's trying to get back on and stuff.... i mean, china is already in the olympics... so at least let yao get a break somehow. asian games are not that important

Thu May 26, 2005 7:58 pm

asian games should be piece of cake for china

Fri May 27, 2005 6:20 pm

asian countries are munted

Fri May 27, 2005 7:15 pm

Dont be racist man!

I bet China could beat Australia in Chess! (Y)

Fri May 27, 2005 7:38 pm

let me rephrase: the laws in asian countries are munted. The people are cool enough (except tight ass commies)

wow, chess, such a significant sport :P

Fri May 27, 2005 7:55 pm

we were having a debate on it... my friend is 'chess captain' and theres this one asian guy who is uber serious and doesnt realise that we are bagging the shit through this 'sport'

problem is that the team started out as a joke and they beat three schools... so they rearranged the A and B teams to put the best guys up and now our school is undefeated with tweo rounds left... the joke turned into a bigger joke somehow...

1st prize for a world chess championship is $1.5M. Not bad really.

I see the only two legitamate National Team things he should participate are World Champs and Olympics.. and they're every two years so he should get at least 2 years off every four years... if u get what i mean...

You're right.I also think the Chinese govenment is selfish even if I'm from Shanghai, the same as Yao.Yao should have rest, the Rockets is his path to glory rather than some meanless Asian titles. More,if he comes back,he will again struggle with numerous commercial activities or interviews, that wont do him good any more. :(

yao had to agree to play whenever they wanted him too or china would not have let him come to america. this is the kind of thing you have to deal with when you are born in a commie country. this is why i have always hated china and always will hate china, as well as all the other commie countries.

Mon May 30, 2005 12:53 pm

right on....damn the commies!!!!!!!!!!!

Mon May 30, 2005 7:37 pm

Hey dont rag communism.. its an awesome theory.. that happens to not work because of ppl's greed... blame the individual and unperfect creation of human beings for our flaws if u must...

Rockets C Yao Ming had hoped to spend the summer resting for the first time in his professional career, but a Chinese official said last week that Yao will be required to play for the national team in the Asian Games. Yao has a contract that stipulates he must play for China in the offseason, but his nonstop schedule has him worn down. Despite the official's insistence that Yao will play, there still is hope in Yao's camp that he will be allowed to sit out. . . .

Yao has a contract that stipulates he must play for China in the offseason... Contract is a contract! If he doesn't play for the Chinese government, he's done for basketball, because the Chinese government would ban him from playing in the NBA. He signed the contract, therefore he should follow the contract that he signed!

perfect way for USA to start a war with china... INSTANT POPULATION control!

Wed Jun 01, 2005 8:35 am

china cant ban him from the nba if i am not mistaken. they can however not allow him back into china and basicly make life for anyone in his family hell. infact they would probably say he broke some law and yell at our government to ship him back home. so yeah, i guess they could ban him from the nba, just not directly.

what a wasted post this was.....

I dont see anything on Chinese sport web site saying that yao will play for the national game, who knows, though... At least, he's resting now..., and he didnt play much during the playoff... :D
P.S. it's so stupid how people keeps talking about chinese government even they DONT KNOW anything about this country.
It's so dumb to say China is commy, oh c'mon, no country today is commy!

Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:23 pm

even vietnam?
oh how about LIBYA??

Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:37 pm

The newest report, the assistant coach for chinese national team said that Yao doesn't have to join the training camp for asian game, but he must particpate the asian game which is from Sept 8 to 16. Yao is still in the U.S. right now, he practices everyday in the Toyota center, the only player who practices besides yao is Charle Ward

Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:43 pm

"In theory, Communism works!" - Homer Simpson
Communism or economic equality among citizens will never, ever achieve its original purpose because in order to have Communism effectively you need to have persons in charge to implement it. Having persons in charge already defeats the purpose of "equality."
(In most religions, God doesn't say that men are ?his/her? equal so why should the ideals of Communism be so much better than a God is who better than man?)
ntong wrote:no country today is commy!

Cuba? Your own country? Enslaving its people under the false pretense of equality, which shall never be achieved.

ON TOPIC:
Yao should win an NBA Championship and then he can screw the Chinese authorities!

Thu Jun 02, 2005 9:20 am

Mark my words- When Yao gets warn out from exhaustion and stinks it up for the Rockets, Sun Ming Ming will be there!
you know I sounded really cool by saying that

Thu Jun 02, 2005 9:21 am

person in charge who wont let their ambition get ahead... it will never work. I admit that! And yes, there are many communist countries in the world!

ON TOPIC:

Yao wont win a ring unless he ahs tiem to rest. His body wont hold up too long...
