the bulls have the home crowd as their 6th man, the wiz have the refs for theirs. should be another close game. maybe this time the wiz pass to their post players in the 2nd half and masybe hinrich will make an open jump sot or 2

I wouldn't count on it, like I said, the Bulls have superior coaching, Eddie Jordan runs a guard and perimeter oriented offense, and the big men really don't get the ball that much. Let's hope for some change though...

Arenas also had issues with his jump shot. While watching tape leading up to the game, Arenas noticed that the Chicago guards have a habit of aggressively leaving their feet to contest jump shots. Arenas adopted the strategy of using pump fakes and leaning into the contact with the hope that it would get him to the foul line. However, in a playoff game, Arenas didn't get many of the calls he wanted and he ended up attempting only two free throws in 47 minutes.

"I took 19 shots and 16 of them were off-balance," Arenas said with shrug and a smile. "I won't do that again."

A little too much analysis on the tape there, Arenas just needs to play his normal game. I was a little dissapointed with Jamison's comments, he's not one to talk on the team because of his soft nature. If Arenas or Hughes said something I'd be fine, but Jamison should keep his mouth shut.

Game 2 is the Wizards time to shine, Arenas will not repeat that performance, and I don't see Noc doing the same. I hope Kwame is fine though, and actually get's the ball in the second half this time

Bulls take Game 2 113-103, Hinrich leading the way with 34 points. Arenas had 39, 6 and 4 though and the Wizards were down by as many as 20 in the fourth. Nevertheless, the Bulls head to Washington up 2-0. (Y)

I don't want to go that far yet, they've still got to win two more and the next two will be in Washington. But it's where they want to be after two games.

Arenas wasn't lying....

I didn't watch the game, I was out playing basketball, very dissapointed that I missed it, but from the box score I can basically interprete what happened. The Wizards played garbage defense again, while I like Hinrich, he's not a high percentage shooter, and allowing him to shoot 12-15 is just unacceptable.

Like I said, Arenas would not be shut down, he's not the one that you look to shut down. Arenas came out firing and had a big game with 39 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals, but it just wasn't enough to get the win.

Kwame was a minimal producer in this game, and since I didn't watch I'm not sure why, but I'd guess it's because he didn't get the ball, kinda like it's been the whole season. The biggest problems for the Wizards in this one were turnovers and defense. If you commit 18 turnovers, and let the other team shoot 48.8% FG and 53.3% 3PT, unless they're doing the same, you're not going to win.

Good win by the Bulls, Noc and Gordon didn't come close to replecating their performances, but Hinrich really stepped it up hitting 12-15 shots and 5-5 three's. Duhon though he couldn't buy a basket added 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Big man AD also had 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, and I'm assuming one Gorilla dunk to go along with it. The Wizards are going home now, and should win those games, but if they can't win a game on the road, they have no hope in the series.

I knew the Bulls would dominate the Wizards in terms of coaching and execution, but this is just embarassing, EJ really needs to make some changes, and get things going. I'm more comfortable with the home games, but the Wizards won't win on the road with this kind of play. Etan Thomas also looked like he was in slow motion on the court, their was 0 production in my mind from the interior players.

Hinrich played great..
34 pts in 24 mins..
whereas Gordon might be abit cold...
14 pts in 19 mins.. and low fg %..
but nevertheless Bulls won..

as for Wizards..
Larry Hughes played great defense with 5 steals..
and Arenas with 39 pts..

Only Raptors fans should be able to catch that reference.

I believe this series will return to Chicago tied at 2 games a piece.

i got to the game late because of traffic. thank goodness for road soadies... when my friends and i got there i think it was 22-10 or something like that with arenas already scoring 11pts

i got just a little bit drunk this time around so the details are pretty cloudy. i took some pictures this time but nothing really worthy of posting because most of them were during timeouts... it's hard to clap/make noise when you're trying to take a picture of the action.

the bulls were able to withstand an excellent effort from the big 3, and if it weren't for some stupid passes, this one would have been a laugher.

i could have sworn every time hinrich shot the ball in the 2nd half, he made it. the 3 that put the lead to 20 was hype- that's probably the loudest the UC crowd got. even hinrich got a little "hinrich hinrich" chant going.

finally wiz players in the postgame were giving the bulls credit. well at least arenas was about hinrich's game. it was a jerk move by jamison the other day for his birthday comments about nocioni's big day

maybe things will be a little different for the wiz when they play at home. regardless, the wiz will still play poor defense and the bulls will play solid defense

since 1994, only 4 teams have come back from a 0-2 deficit (lakers last year, the rockets doing it twice to the suns, and the bulls on knicks- the smith getting stripped, blocked series)

The crowd was a huge factor. I'm intrigued to see how the MCI Center will react. Hopefully we can win the next two at home, maybe get a steal at Chicago, and then win Game 6. That's optimism right there. (Y)

If only Washington would make all their freethrows, they would still be in the game at the end.

The Bulls are also 28-0 in series in which they hold the homecourt advantage, so it seems history is on their side. The history of 0-2 comebacks is the more encouraging statistic, of course.

I'm so glad for the Bulls. If they make it passed the 1st round and more, maybe Michael Jordan would be interesting in buying the franchise :)

impossible because jordan doesn't want to front with his own money

besides, the mulitple owners of the chicago bulls know it's a cash cow. the team was still amongst the leaders in attendance during the rebuidling phase. business will get only for them now that the team is winning again (coincidentally ticket prices are being raised for next year)

Great game by the Wizards, Etan Thomas [POTG] was a big boost in this one, I love it, great ball movement, making the extra pass, sharing the ball, crashing the glass, that's what they need to do all the time.

The Wiz also played good defense, and forced a lot of turnovers this game. If they bring this same intensity and play to Game 4, that will be another win. Michael Ruffin was also good in this one, he played well too, and was definately an impact player.

Juan Dixon, dissapointing...

Hats off to the Wizards, they defended their homecourt in dominating fashion. I couldn't really see a sweep happening, still hoping for a split in Washington and a series win in Game 5. But if each team is destined to win every game played on their home floor, that'll work out nicely too. ;)

The incredible thing about this game was we are watching two very young teams, both teams are going to be great given time. IMHO Washington has more talent, but Chicago is a much more mature team ( I think Eddie Jordan allows to free a reign to his shooters.) Regardless of how this series ends both teams have had taken big strides to become competitive in the NBA. Neither team will beat Miami or Detroit but they are fun to watch, and when or if Curry comes back the Bulls will be even better.
In a few years, after Shaq has become a Sheriff in Louisana or Texas, and Lebron has moved to a decent team (probably the Lakers after Doctor Bus gets tired of Kobe's crap). The Bulls and the Wizards will be meeting in the NBA Eastern Finals on a regular basis....I'm hoping for a great new rivalry.

the wiz finally played aggressive AND smart. it's about time- etan thomas and/or jared jeffries normally have big games against chicago

ironically, chandler shows up and etan still blows up

all that sharing stuff fgrep said. i can't see the wiz doing that for 3 more games. i'll believe it when i see it. that magic dust eddie jordan was using should wear out anyway since there's a day between the next game :P

unless you're houston or dallas, the series doesn't start until the road team wins. the bulls get one more chance to steal one before they head back to the UC... which is nice since i have tickets to game 5 (Y)

lol if you were watching ESPN immidiately after the game you saw what i saw. hilarious shit.

at halftime charles barkley was doing his regular bashing. he was saying how washington never passes the ball and only goes 1 on 1, and how they will never win because they play bad basketball like this. (it was actually pretty strong, charles was talkin a lot of shit).

then immidiately after the game on ESPN eddie jordan (coach of washington) was in the hallway outside the court and was talking to the camera about barkley's comments. he looked REALLY pissed cause he was talking fast and furiously... he said how barkley shouldnt be talking because "i never knew charles to pass until he was triple teamed." and he also said how washingtons game is good for basketball... but he was pissed and was trying to persoanlly accuse barkley.

then they go back to the studio and kenny goes "charles... u seem irritated." and he was because he was jus sitting there tapping his pen on the table for like 10 seconds... then goes "if som1 doesnt like my opinions... u kno what they can kiss." he went on to talk some MORE shit because EJ brought up the point of how the W was washingtons win for so-so years... and charles said "theres a reason for that. their a bad team."

lol i was sittin there on my couch extremely entertained

Wizards win the 4th game. Kwame Brown did not play and Chris Duhon was having back problems.

Juan Dixon was smoking hot from the bench.

tight series as expected. If wizards win the next game, they probably win the series since they will have the momentum going back home.

I think they won't. This is going to be a series where all the home teams win.

The final score wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I was hoping they'd get the split in Washington and finish the series at home in Game 5. But like I said before, if the home team is destined to win every game of this series, I can live with that.
