yeah.. the nets are 3-1 up.. so in the potential event of a tie the cavs miss out..

Yes. Look at him now at Boston, he's like the 3rd or 4th option off the bench and he's not complaining. It's just that Paul Silas/Jim Pax was a bad coach and he ruined the team.
Well it helps if they win too. Maybe because PP has proved himself and Ricky knows what he's dealing with and up against, rather than having some unproven teenager stealing the spotlite.
I think the Cavs need some kind of new offense, the crap they run is crap. Just stand around until LeBron shoots. It's pitiful when he scores 30 or 40 and they still lose. Z has a broken finger, and everyone else is just nonexistant. They rely on their shots to fall waaay too much.

It's also quite possible that getting traded again taught Ricky Davis a lesson. Before condemning Silas, it's important to note that Davis has been a difficult and selfish player in the past.

I think they will make it. They will get their faces torn off and the Heat/Pistons will run them off the court though.
Mon Apr 18, 2005 6:34 am
shit!!!!!!!! Cavs lost today to Detroit

this is so devastating -- poor lebron
Mon Apr 18, 2005 6:40 am
Now they're 40-41 and if the Nets win against Philly today, they will be 40-40. It's going to be really tight for the last East playoff spot.
Mon Apr 18, 2005 6:51 am
Damn LeBron really needs to learn his clutch... Going for a stupid three, 3 feet behind the 3pt line hoping to make it like that, bah, silly...
God, cant Cavs play teamball?
Im hope NJ gets to the playoffs. This Cavalosers team does not deserve it.
Mon Apr 18, 2005 7:19 am
LeBron doesn't need to learn clutch, his teammates need to learn basketball. Nobody else was gonna shoot it anyway.
God, cant Cavs play teamball?
LeBron is the team, duh.

Nobody else does anything anyway.
Mon Apr 18, 2005 8:00 am
yep LeBron is the team; thats why this thread is called "Will LeBron make it" instead of "Will the Cavs make it:
Mon Apr 18, 2005 9:39 am
lol @ RR and Amphatoast
Weren't the Cavs a team in the first half of the season before James' scoring upped significantly?
Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:05 am
i thought prince forced him into a tough shot
Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:12 am
lebron's gonzo imo. good try lebron, you're still the "loser"-MVP
Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:23 am
LeBron is trying to do way too much. As soon as he realized the Cavaliers are slipping out of the playoffs he has been taking too many shots, and a lot of bad ones at that.
The Cavs were a much better team when they shared the ball and McInnis was playing well.
Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:30 am
LeBron has a little Kobe in him right now with the shooting.. not good..
over the past 5 games ( not ncluding this one)he has averged 35points, 11rebounds, 3 steals, 7 assist.. but those are only numbers, they not translating to W's..reminds me of marburythis year/tmac last year
Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:45 am
lol now he's kobe?
meaningless numbers?
check the boxscore. only Z and newble showed up

They're both 40-40 as of today. New Jersey holds the tiebreaker so they're in the playoffs at the moment.

Jersey won tonight too, so as far as LBJ is concerned, I think he's out of the playoffs, and maybe out of Cleveland. Unless CLE manages to do something big this off-season, maybe get Redd or Hughes (doubt it though), LeBron might not be very happy.

He needs to play that way, because nobody else seems to realize that they are now falling out. He needs to score heaps in order for them to win. Nobody else will step it up, so he's stuck by himself.

Who does Kobe have? And Marbury gets a bad rap, but who does he have?
Mon Apr 18, 2005 3:40 pm
Melo Owns!
Melo's in the playoffs but Bron maybe out, I think Melo's gonna end up with more titles on his resume than Bron unless the Cavs really turn things around with some big moves.
Ricky Davis was never gonna fit in to the system, its hard to have to fiery players in the backcourt and get it to work out. I think they should have kept Miles though, he could have been a nice backup or even a decent starting SF yet. Big Z has already said hes unlikely to return to the Cavs, so that would mean the Cavs have to really push for a big man in free agency along with a guard.
Tricky Dicky Davis is keeping quiet because he doesnt wanna get massacred by Paul Pierce, The Glove and Doc Rivers
Mon Apr 18, 2005 6:49 pm
Melo wil finish his career with more titles hahaha you are dreaming man.
Tue Apr 19, 2005 12:13 am
Boston is locked up in 3rd... Will they rest some players against the Cavs and Nets?
Still, the Nets face Washington, which is trying to take the 4th seed from Chicago while Cavs face the already done Toronto... But New Jersey is playing much better than Cleveland...
It's an eletric finish...
Tue Apr 19, 2005 12:18 am
Doesn't look like it, 2 years in a row, dissaponting...

i'm not sure why are you asking. how is it relevant
my response was made to the comments saying lebron is just like kobe- putting up big numbers or shooting too much for no reason. did the people making these comments see the game or are they just looking at the box score??
i am not a critic of marbury. he may be the leader of his team but the teams failure is not necessarily his fault.
the only edge lebron james has teammate wise over bryant's teammates is ilgauskas. other then that, the lakers have better perimeter shooters, have more playoff experience, better athelticism, more versatile players...
Tue Apr 19, 2005 7:55 am
LeBron is taking so many shots because nobody else is. Remember passive LeBron? Get everybody involved, and go win 1/3 of the games. Now he's trying to switch it up, and see what happens. They gave Detroit a run for their money, but it doesn't seem that anyone else realizes where they are at.
Kobe has Lamar Odom and Caron Butler, Chucky Atkins every once in a while. LeBron has Z, Gooden shows up from time to time, same with McInnis and Snow.
