if the starting spot could be filled by a good enough player than hill might consider being the 6th man of the team. it could be the perfect spot for him also as he can do a bit of everything.

They should start the team like this:

C: Whoever starts for them here...
PF: Dwight
SF: Turkoglu
SG: Stevenson
PG: Franchise

6th man: Hill

And Nelson providing some good play...

But why do that when Hill still puts up better numbers than Turkoglu and is capable of playing 35 minutes per game? The only reason he's out now is because of an injury accidently inflicted by another player, not his ankles giving out.

It would be, if the reason he was missing the rest of the season was the ankle that has undergone five surgeries, but it's not. He's still effective playing 30+ minutes as a starter.

So... even if this injury isnt affected by his past... doesnt mean his old injury wont come back to haunt him... depends on what his doctors say i suppose!

That's true, but for now it doesn't appear to be affecting him. If he did start suffering problems with his surgically repaired ankle, perhaps it will be time for him to take a backseat or even retire. There's caution (which is what they're exercising now) and then there's melodramatic overcaution, which I believe moving Hill to the bench would be at this time.

I can't. They generally don't amputate limbs or extremities unless they're a danger to the rest of the body (ie gangrenous or frostbite).

but those screws there will add up to the pain of athritis and rhyumathism...(i hope s spelled em right)....anyways if the pain killers of the future are that effective and great then again maybe grant hill can still enjoy more of his walking days :D

Considering that his ankle isn't giving him any trouble since the fifth surgery, there's probably a good chance he won't be affected by it too much when he retires.
