The tension between Shaq and Kobe wasn't a big factor at all. The only close one was when Shaq attempted a steal, but fouled Kobe instead. It looked like a hard foul, but other than that, nothing happened.

Duncan could've easily won MVP if he played the 4th, imo. He was scoring a point a minute and pulling down boards.

Ilgauskas was a great offensive and defensive presence in the 4th!

I didn't think it was a hard foul. Just a failed steal attempt.

Yeah, TD coulda won MVP if he played more. So could a lot of other people.

I won't see the game until the PonTel DVD arrives, but I watched some highlights over on ESPN Motion. From what I saw and the recap I read, seems like it was a pretty enjoyable game.

Man, what a crappy MVP desicion. Allen Iverson did not play better than Kobe Bryant, and Kobe's efficiency was better, I think.

My favourite dunk was not VC's (because it was stolen from T-Mac and T-Mac just waited for the moment to do this, to him, traditional dunk - but Vince Fuck just did it first  )

Kobe to Amare was the best dunk! Amare went through under the rim and windmilled it . Amazing!

And VC and Grant Hill just 18 minutes? T-Mac just 8 points? Why?

This years All-Star game was very boring....me and my boys were actually looking forward to the end of the game. Nice dunks by Carter, Kobe and Stat.

I think no one really deserved the MVP, I knew it would be Iverson but he didnt play that good at all. He has got to be the worst All-Star MVP ever.

And what the hell was wrong with Rashard Lewis?!? Not only did he suck on both ends of the court, but when AI had a steal and was all alone he pulled his jersey for a foul....that was weak, you dont do that in All-Star games.

I agree....quite a dull all-star game this year.....no one seemed to be really focused at all....

everyone looked like they were just worn out.....n well as for Shard I think he just went through all-star jitters.....n what the hell.....Iverson said Shaq is the greatest player ever to play the game.......n he sounded like a rap artist accepting a grammy with all that "Thank God, and I love my mom etc etc...."

Arenas was joking, and though he doesn't suck, he played terrible in the game.

Vince's dunk was amazing, he maybe could've won MVP if he actually got to play in the 2nd half.

Iveron hogged the ball a lot, and also ahd a little stat padding stretch to end the game lol. I'm fine with him getting MVP, but I think it should've been Lebron or Wade, Iverson shot like 4-14, and had 7 turnovers along with his 15-10 and 5 steals.

The MVP goes to someone on the winning team most of the time, unless someone on the losing team has a super game, so no one in the West was going to win it.

The game was a little boring, when you just watched the 1992 one on NBA TV, this one just seems dry.

Didn't you hear, he was missing so he could shoot more  , if you think you're a better shooter than Arenas, you're in another world, he just had a bad shooting outing on the weekend, watch the guy in the season, he can shoot like it's nothing.

I don't know why some of you are getting pissy over "ball hogging".

First off, Iverson and Arenas are point guards. It's their job to bring the ball up the court. And second, AI was penetrating through the defense and getting his teammates easy dunks/layups.

In my opinion all players' stats should be calculated using the efficiency formula...and the player with the highest efficiency should be MVP!

It's ridiculous when some players take 14 shots and want to get attention while others take just 5 and play more team-oriented and always only the show-offs and the ones with the most spectacular moves win MVP honors.

Ray would have been MVP specially if he reached the 20 point mark n the West won....but sadly it was not to be......Has anyone off the bench ever won the game MVP?

The all-star game would have been great if they had Dre, Melo, K-Mart and MC in it....baddaboom. :)

True, but Iverson had that shoot first mentality. And when he couldn't get open, he'll just pass it out because he has no choice. It wasn't as if he was really looking for people. A lot of his assists came from wide open players for alley oops and such. He had 8 in the first half and only 1 in the second. He just dribbles the ball everywhere on the court and frankly, it got annoying because a basketball game should be pass-pass-pass-pass-pass, not dribble-dribble-dribble-dribble-pass/shoot.

Thanks

Carter threw it off the backboard and grabbed it way from behind with 1 hand and dunked it.

to make a long story short ray allen criticized kobe in the beginning of the season for being a "me-first" kinda player and that he needs to learn how to play with his teammates in order to win.. they kept firing back at each other in the beginning of the season

buddy i could hit a wide open 15 footer on my first try. at least not miss 7 in a row... come on now... its even sadder wen u ARE in the nba and u suck like that

and for whoever said that stuff about arenas. (1) he was not joking wen he said he would win mvp. (2) he was concentrating his ass off for the skills challenge. he was trying sooo hard, thats y he sucked so bad

Edit: lol u ppl r funny if u think that i think im a better shooter then arenas. did i say that? no. its hilarious that a top PG in the nba can manage to miss 7 or 8 OPEN WIDE OPEN MID RANGE SHOTS... not even 3's. i could hit that shot sooner then he could... but ur right... *gasp*... gilbert arenas has a better shot then me. hell, id even go out on a limb and say hes a better basketball player!
