I saw on hoopshype.com that Phil was interest by the chance to coach the knicks......I doubt he'll return to LA and get a million+ headaches a day arguing with Kobe.....if Phil were to return it would mean Kobe has to go....so I doubt whoever that Laker GM is will wanna trade him....I see the Lakers trying and bringing Lenny Wilkins in...or a military/tough guy coach to bring some discipline and defense to that squad.

About a month or 2 ago, a reporter asked Phil what team he would like to coach if he would choose to return to the NBA. Phil said: New York, the Lakers (and another team which I forgot). It was quite surprising that he would still want to coach the Lakers, but he said so.
if Phil were to return it would mean Kobe has to go

Why? Kobe said he would agree with it if the Lakers would sign Phil Jackson. And trust me, the Lakers will rather have Kobe Bryant then Phil Jackson.

LMAO~~~~~~~~~
Frank? The return of Mr. Castle?~~~~~~

I would be surprised (Damn, I get surprised with every shit that's going on the League :x ) if Phil returns with the Lakers. He said he's thinking about the coach thing, and Kobe is not against it.

I hope phil does go back to LA...i can foresee a latrell in golden state moment eventually with Kobe cracking and trying to choke him.

Well, its official now. The stress was to much for him. You can see the live press conference on the official Lakers site.
Dr. Buss offerd him a 2 year contract as a scouting consultant and he accepted it so he will remain a Laker (Y)

So, we are viewing the next exciting episode of 'As the Lakers Turn' How exciting?

poor rudy, all the strss really had an impact on him. Right now I'm thinking, if the job is so stressful- who would want to coach LA? Right now, Phil coming back is out of the question, as much as i'd like to see him back... i dunno- Jordan coaching would make a hell lot of money for everyone and be fun to watch... honestly, it aint happening lol

Kobe's reaction to this is good, didnt do anything wrong! its all good- he wont be critisized for it. We just need a coach who can understand Kobe and Lamar's styles of play and find a way to mesh them.

So now we have more things to watch: the new coaching, the teeams second half of season with 24 out of 38 away games and KOBE!

And btw, saw Michael jordans book today for my assignment... he talked bout oiur man Kobe, said 'how can kobe bne great if he doesnt underastand who the true Kobe Bryant is' That was ages ago thoguh

The New York Daily News reports that Phil Jackson has decided not to return to the Lakers, at least not for now.

i really doubt that phil jackson will return to the lakers... considering how he was unceremoniously kicked out of the organization...

and poor kobe... i guess the best thing the lakers can do is make him their head coach too!!!

My guess will be that Frank Hamblem will finish the season as the headcoach since he has alot of experience and that they will try to go after Phil Jackson next year.

I never thought I'd say this, but I wish Phil Jackson would piss off. The team isn't going to move forward if they just go and employ some guy who's going to retire after the season anyway. There has to be some form of stability, not only in the coaching staff but in the playing staff too. I know everyone thinks Phil is some form of NBA super-coach, and he is, but the fact remains that as long as Kobe Bryant is a Laker, Phil Jackson at LA will not work anymore.

That being said, he'd probably do a good job of getting Odom and co. involved more, I don't know if that'd bother Kobe but it'd have to be a different game plan without Shaq clogging up the middle.

phil jackson and kobe in la is a recipe for disaster. it's probably better they go for some college coach like they originally planned. mike k? roy w?
