Second, Shaq couldn't have won without Kobe (They would have never got past San Antonio, Kobe won that series legitimately).

Kobe was saying he never meant to involve Shaq. He was referring to the incident in his police report when he mentioned Shaq's name and how he pays off his women. So he was apologizing for the mistake that he made. That's not the same as saying "I'm sorry I didn't let you mess with my affairs." What he said was he was sorry for involving Shaq in his ordeals and causing problems for him and his family.

I don't know about you, but that seems to me like Kobe was owning up to his mistakes and making amends for them.

And as for the sources you link to,

Those writers are biased and they are entitled to their opinions, just like you are entitled to yours. I'd hold them accountable for their words too, if I had the means. But I'm not arguing with them. I'm debating this with you. I don't care what other people have to say. I want to know what you have to say.

Now, I can't prove that he was honest in the interview, just like you can't prove that he was dishonest. I just believe in giving people second chances. I do. And as far as I know (and I don't know a lot) I think Kobe is a good guy who has made some bad choices. Kobe has had to put up with a lot of bad press, some justified and some unjustified and now he's out publicly apologizing for him mistakes. He's making amends. If I were Shaq, I'd forgive him.
