People in the public eye are always expected to maintain higher standards than the rest of humanity as they usually become role models, even if that isn't their aim. The media is also very fickle. They like to build up celebrities and tear them down as it suits them.

That reminds me when they made articles of Iverson getting a ticket... when the media does stuff like that it's just stupid.

Exactly. They tell the world that Kobe raped a girl but to say someone got a ticket? Come on.

Exactly. Perhaps it's worth mentioning as a footnote in an article that covers a few news topics, but some of these matters get blown out of proportion. Celebrities provide news topics for the media, both positive and negative. Sometimes the media runs out of positive things to say, so they'll dig up some negatives.

It's funny, because as I said in my previous post the media builds up celebrities and confirms their status, then they tear them down. Magazines will put a famous face on their covers only to print a scathing article about how sick they are of seeing that famous face everywhere. Even though it's expected of the media to do this and it's considered a natural part of fame, I still think it's interesting how the public seems to roll with the punches so to speak.
