yes, lenny wilkens has the most losses in nba history. also in his coaching resume:
hall of fame coach
-owns the fifth best all time playoff winning percentage
-coached a championship team. those numbers would be much better if some guy in chicago hadn't played in the 90's.
-has won the Coach of the year award
-named one of the top 10 ten coaches in NBA history.

what coaches had a better coaching resume then that and were available at the time?

which coach do you think isiah should have hired then? keep in mind isiah wants to have total control over personnel, that his hire came in the middle of the season, and that wilkens might not even be around next year

kareem's situation is way different from wilkens....
in my opinion fratello would have been a better choice...

it would be greatly appeciated and you would be taken more seriously if you could actually provide some kind of reasoning behind your thoughts other then a " "

cleveland is built for the playoffs and indiana is built for the regular season

LOL explain how

i dont know, its just a feeling  i just think that ilguascaz, bron and boozer are more intimiditating to good teams than jermaine, artest, and a lesser reggie.

Wed Mar 24, 2004 1:44 pm

I disagree with that. Jermaine is a legitimate mvp candidate. Ron Artest should be the dpoy and reggie still has flashes of his old self. I'd take those 3 right now over lebron, zydrunas and boozer. but indiana's strength is their depth. guys like bender, harrington, croshere, tinsley can all take a game over offensively .. indiana has the most depth in an eastern team, since, well, indiana from 2000.

Some questions....

a) Will Miami reach the 4th seed by play-off time? (considering Milwaukee is goin West for the next few games and New Orleans are losing....)

b) Philly has an easy schedule- but without Iverson and Glenn Robinson- how will they fare?

c) The Nets WILL be the Second seed in the play-offs...how will they go if they don't have a stron Kidd or Kenyon Martin???

d) Will Indiana reach 60 wins?

e) The Pistons have fine-tuned their defence to near-perfection...if not perfect- will they keep this momentum into the playoffs???

1. x-Indiana --
2. * New Jersey 9.0
3. x-Detroit 6.0
4. New Orleans 14.5
5. Milwaukee 16.0
6. Miami 18.0
7. New York 18.5
8. Cleveland 20.0
9. Boston 20.5
10. Toronto 21.0
11. Philadelphia 22.5

Here are the standings now- I think it's possible for Boston to get that last play-off spot in the expense of either the Knicks or Cavs...Toronto and Philly will miss out...

BTW- if Jermaine O'neal and the Pacer are the best team in the league with 60+ wins- he'll get MVP...because i felt like saying that! And I read that Ron Artest cant get DPOY cause he is too short or he doesn't play as a center...or somethin- real byist I know!

Wed Mar 24, 2004 8:34 pm

I think the Bucks could still stick with that 4 or 5 slot and they are doing pretty well in their western trip despite their loss to the Lakers and also beating the Kings.

About the Knicks, they are playing inconsistent ball as of late, yeah the win are piling but they were lucky at some of those wins plus injuries have slowed them down. As a Knick fan, I hope they won't falter but it seems they are.

Wed Mar 24, 2004 9:44 pm

a) Will Miami reach the 4th seed by play-off time? (considering Milwaukee is goin West for the next few games and New Orleans are losing....)

Its definately possible, but not too likely. I think once mashburn returns to form, the hornets will be ok (y). But hey, if miami has a shot at the 4th seed, so do the knicks! They are only half a game back of the heat..
b) Philly has an easy schedule- but without Iverson and Glenn Robinson- how will they fare?

Without Philly.. uh i mean iverson, and the big dog, the sixers are a nothing team. I dont see them making a raptor like push of a few years back once vince was injured. once again its possible, but im not going to predict it.
c) The Nets WILL be the Second seed in the play-offs...how will they go if they don't have a stron Kidd or Kenyon Martin???

Not good. K Mart and Kidd make each others game so much better. When martin is controlling the backboards, that ignites their tranistion game. and in the half court, who throws those perfect alley oops to martin? jason kidd! with one of them, they could make it to the second round and lose, but if both are unhealthy and run into a fired up cavs team or a hungry knicks team, we could see a very early end to the nets dominance in the east.
d) Will Indiana reach 60 wins?

Not without jermaine oneal imo. he means so much to them on both ends.
The Pistons have fine-tuned their defence to near-perfection...if not perfect- will they keep this momentum into the playoffs???

Rasheed may be the key. If he stays in check, this detroit team may end up one of the best defensive teams since maybe the sonics of 96 or the bulls of 97 or 98. but.. becuase they have only been together for a little bit, they could run out of juice come playoff time? i dont think so and i can see them pushing indy to 7 games, and if artest or oneal 100%, detroit will be in finals. i feel like budha!
Here are the standings now- I think it's possible for Boston to get that last play-off spot in the expense of either the Knicks or Cavs...Toronto and Philly will miss out...

I dont think boston quite has the firepower to make a final dash at that spot. its paul pierce.. and chucky atkins?? man.. i hope celtics fans are looking forward to the lottery..

Aah did I enjoy that team. Rose was playing the point wasnt he? How did he manage...actually, how did the team manage. :?

That white big guy was in the middle too, dutchie...Smits was his name if I recall correctly...Reggie's three's were dropping left and right. Croshere...my my my...you would think he would be great or something. Indiana paid him biiiiig bucks...didnt result the way they expected it to though.

Ok, sorry for throwing the topic off.

Thu Mar 25, 2004 7:21 am

Jalen was the starting small forward, and mark jackson was the point guard. However, when Travis best subbed in at point, it seemed like rose was the top playmaker. He went well, him and reggie when they were hot were damn near unstopable. Rik Smits was virtually finished in 2000 though, but he had flashes, and dale davis was an all star lol. That indy team was great

why would i be serious when you compare kareem to lenny wilkens idiot
....

Thu Mar 25, 2004 7:55 pm

He was comparing the significance of both records. Both have the most in respective feilds, and more likely than not, both have the highest amounts of attempts to reach number 1. I cant make it any simpler for you, but there is a defeninate comparison. if you're too dumb to see that, well, thats not anyone else's problem

Thu Mar 25, 2004 11:28 pm

well the brackets look interesting now. If the Pistons and Nets both win their 1st rnd series they will meet. Can't wait for ben wallace to expose K Mart for the real punk bitch that he is. I wonder how Indy will fair? I think Bucks will cause a few surprises in the playoffs, maybe even expose of indy if they meet in rnd2

True that, true that.

He had a good game 5:

Kobe did too.

PLAYER POS MIN FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OFF DEF TOT AST PF ST TO BS PTS

J. Rose F 44 12-18 4-5 4-4 0 6 6 5 4 2 5 1 32

Lol, just like last years conference finals eh? hehe

Kobe's game 5 was disasterous :) he was way too "jumpshot happy" in that series. Indiana snapped them in game 5, won by like 37 points! Shaq was an absolute beast that series though, and glen rice showed some signs of his charlotte form. That was such a good series (y)

Fri Mar 26, 2004 9:45 am

Yeah, it was tons of fun.

I appreciated the effort Philly gave also...Mutumbo vs Shaq was great. (Y)

The Nets however were disappointing. In that aspect the Kings gave a good show to watch.

salamat, gracias.. thanks

i would like to see a detroit and indiana conference finals. interesting subplots- carlisle coaching against the team that fired him, the game's best post defender defending the east's best post player, artest & wallace's potential blow ups

I seem to remember Kobe sitting out one of those games and then coming back to lead them to victory in OT after Shaq fouled out. It might've been Game 4. I can't remember. All I remember from that series is seeing Glen Rice's wife.

Kobe got injured in game 2, sat out game 3, had that great overtime performance in game 4, then had a bust of a game in game 5. And yeah, glen rice's wife lol.. got him traded to new york

I havent paid too much attention to ben wallaces post defense. i know he isnt that good at guarding on the ball players when they are slashing... but yeah, indy vs detroit would be great. Reggie vs Rip.. that would be interesting, considering they both like to work for their shots off the ball.. its a very even matchup all they way. Imagine the repurcussions if Indy beat them badly, like u mentioned, with detroits old coach who was fired! hehe.. now that would be funny :D

That game 1 of the 2001 finals might have been the best contest ive seen in a single game. Shaq and iverson's duel.. crazy stuff. Rick fox played well in that game too. and kobe had a dud of a game. Iverson was on mj's level in game one. completely unstopable. If you ever need inspiration.. look at that effort by iverson. And to think, philly may trade him! i hope new york gets him :proud:

Dream on :P Latest news are that AI may land in LA for Kobe.I would like this trade.AI would have a big chance at the title and Sixers may rise at the top of the east.

Sat Mar 27, 2004 7:41 am

Iverson for Kobe? Hell no...

Lakers dont need a smaller sized ballhog.

McGrady, consider joining? :P

I wouldnt mind that trade...well unless Kobe's occupied somewhere else that is...
