I don't know I'm not on the team... regardless, Diogu isn't the only (or even the best) back to the basket player in the draft.

Probably not, I think there's a few of them who are very even as far as abilities go... this is how this draft seems to be turning out, no real top of the line talent but there's a fair bit of depth in that the talent is evenly spread out across the board.

At 10 he would probably be the best back to the basket player available. Although Andrew Bynum sounds really interesting. I dont know much about the kid but i've read that he's an Eddu Curry type of player. Can anyone fill me in about Bynum? Is he worth the 10th pick?

Great, an Eddy Curry type of player who isn't even as good as Eddy Curry was in highschool. The only things I've read about Bynum is that he's a long term project and needs alot of work. I highly doubt he'd be worth the 10th pick, unless you want to use it on Ike Diogu's arms instead.

"Insiders" are also reporting that Phil wants to build a 91'-93'-Bulls-like team. Well, you already have a poor man's Jordan (=Kobe) and someone who can replace Pippen on the offense (Odom). It's no secret that those Bulls's team had superb perimeter defenders which current Lakers lack. Off course, there's Kobe, but Jordan still had arguably the best perimeter defender of all time in Pippen to carry some of the defensive load. Lakers would need a decent PG/SG defender at the PG position. And who's that? You have MLE to get Jaric (could be an excellent team defender) or Daniels and of course, you can always draft Jarret Jack, a true, pass-first playmaker with Payton-like potential on the defensive end. He would be an substancial upgrade over Armstrong in the triangle in a year or so. At the PF you already have Grant, but not the real one. Horace Grant was a tremendous defender in his younger days, while you can't expect this kind of help from over-the-hill Brian Grant. Trade in which the Lakers would get Boozer were rumoured and they still are, but CB would not bring what the team really needs. He showed this year that he presents a defensive liability (perhaps only because of his new contract, but I don't believe his mentality would change by simply changing teams. If Sloan wasn't able to get him on the right track, Jackson couldn't either.) and it's for sure that this team doesn't need that. But on the other hand, Mihm is capable of replacing Cartwright's efforts. Lakers have a good tradebait in Butler, they now just have to use it wisely.
