Camby put on a show vs Cleveland, even though I was kinda worried when Cavs got as close as 5. Good W, even tho LeBron got a triple double. Hoston next!

yeah i got a bit nervous too, when they were creeping closer with the back to back 3's, but then the Denver we know and love decides to drive to the hoop on the next few possessions, instead of doin the normal team thing of running out the clock, but we doubled it in the end to win by 11 so it worked.
How bout that missed dunk at the end though by that Cleveland rookie  That would have made it more respectable for Cleveland had he made it cause it would've been a 9 point win.

is it any coincidence that Nuggets game turns to shit w/o Blake?

Sun Jan 21, 2007 10:47 am

A very shakey win, JR Smith is slowly coming back to himself even tho hes had the flu he played quite well and shot over 40% so its alright. I'm not a huge fan of AI playing the 2 tho and hope to see him move to point and Smith start as SG when Melo returns. Blake will play descent minutes off the bench. Marcus Camby deserves that all star center spot and i hope he gets it this year.

Sun Jan 21, 2007 2:57 pm

Sorry for the double post but what a great win today on a back to back and travelled to Houston where we have just won 3 out of the last 11 trips. Iverson dominated so did Camby and JR Smith found his grove again, this team looks really good and thats without Melo, cant wait for the next game against the Grizz!

GO NUGGETS!

Sun Jan 21, 2007 6:04 pm

ITS OVER!!! Melo comes back next game, and hopefully he'll get at least 20 points in his comeback, but most importantly like he said in Rocky Mtn News, a W. Nice win today vs Houston, JR made some big plays to get a win, and Steve Blake with a 4 point play :)

Mon Jan 22, 2007 10:20 am

yeah it was a great win in OT-121-113, we've hardly had a single OT game this season if not none?
ALOT of steals this game, Anyway Iverson 36 and 10 for a double double also 4 steals,
Blake 12 points 4 dimes and 3 steals,
Another solid game for Kleiza with 12,
Camby continuing to put up double doubles with 12 points and another 20+ rebound hall with 22, also 5 blocks,
Najera played very average managing 1 point, 1 board and 1 assist

Nene played well with 14 points, 5 boards and 2 blocks.
And how bout JR? :D 24 points and 6-9 from the arc!

Go Nuggets, lets go for 4

yes i am excited

Tue Jan 23, 2007 10:18 am

Well the wait is over and Melo returns tonight i cant wait to see him and AI and JR running the floor. Hopefully we can also pull a win then it will give some confidence the Melo and Iverson and the rest of the team. I wonder if JR and Melo will start??

Tue Jan 23, 2007 2:09 pm

Well Melos back and still scoring he has 21, (although he's not scoring at a very high FG %) with 8:40 remaining in the last, it looks like it's all working pretty well cause Nuggets are up by 12.
:D

EDIT: it looks like 4 Nuggets might break 20 points, Iverson and Melo already have, but JR and Camby are on 19 and 17

Up by 21 now, were finishing HARD

Tue Jan 23, 2007 3:12 pm

28 points, 6 assists, Iverson with like 8 or 9 assists, fuck all the tools that said they match up wont work out, hoepfully, like CMJ said, we get on the hot streak, we got sucky teams coming up such as seattle and portland.

Tue Jan 23, 2007 3:15 pm

Good win i didnt expect their first game together to go that well lol. I thought they would share a couple of passes but Iverson gave Melo like 3 sweet alley oop passes which to Iversons delight Melo finished with ease.

The only problem in this game was JR shooting 14 threes and only getting 4, i think he misses his starter job but with Blake getting 12 assists its gonna be tough for him.

Tue Jan 23, 2007 4:34 pm

yeah a great win it worked perfectly. End score was 115-98, a huge score as was expected and as CMJ said i didn't expect us to come together and play that well so quickly. JR putting up 14 3's? Jeez that's huge  Yeah he's probably already sick of coming off the bench
and how bout Camby still put up 17 and 17  Even with Melo, AI and JR, that's gotta be good enough to earn him an All Star spot.
Diawara, Kleiza and Najera scored 2 each, they'll have to get used to that
I hope they dont mind not scoring, cause the last thing we need is our hustle players asking for a trade cause of minutes and scoring opportunities.... Sampson played for 54 seconds  that's about what he'll average per night. Anyway that's 4 in a row

HERE WE COME.

Wed Jan 24, 2007 9:54 am

I'm glad Boykins is gone because he would of demanded some shots tonight and we possibly would of lost. I think the Boykins trade was the one that was the most important. Steve Blake is killing it out there and he doesnt care about scoring and who would when your racking up like 10 dimes a game plus pushing for a championship.

Wed Jan 24, 2007 10:33 am

<mumbles something about pulling out his Blake "I told you so" now>

Wed Jan 24, 2007 11:23 am

Great game with Iverson and Melo playing.

I think things will go well with Iverson on the Nuggets.

Wed Jan 24, 2007 3:38 pm

Very well played game, even though we kinda fell behindi n the beginning, we pulled it out. Steve Blake on fire in the end, with 2 big 3-PT's. Boykins would've choked on them, good we got Blake taking them instead of that midget. Melo with 34 points, 9 boards and 3 assists.

Wed Jan 24, 2007 3:41 pm

Iverson passed 20,000 points which is pretty awesome, im sure Melo will get that milestone aswell. These two look good together and JR Smith completes the trio, im loving the team right now.

Wed Jan 24, 2007 3:43 pm

Denver still has some significant problems......
1. AI overdribbles when he has to play PG
2. Denver is terrible defensively

1st rnd exit unless they get a favourable matchup.

Wed Jan 24, 2007 3:44 pm

5 in a row BABY!
Another win! 117-112. Melo played a great all round game tonight again, this time 34 points, 9 boards, 3 assits and 4 steals :D Iverson with a 21 and 10 effort, JR with 20 including 6 3's!- i didn't think he'd manage too well with Melo and AI, but he is, he's just taking alot of shots  including 10 3 point attemps tonight and 14 last game :? and Camby had a fairly off game compared to his recent form with 10 points and only 8 rebounds, another 5 blocks helped though :o Najera didn't play a single second tonight also  and How bout Ray Allen, got to take my hat off to him! 22 points in the last quater, including 5 3's Anyway 5 wins in a row, Will it last?
I certainly hope so!

EDIT: congrats to AI on his 20,000 point milestone :chug:

Wed Jan 24, 2007 4:20 pm

Najera couldn't play, he has back spasms or something like that, listed day-to-day.

oh thanks for the info.

When i went into this thread the last post was IndianaPacerMan's post, so we all pretty much posted at the same time  So it looks a little strange me repeating 2 things that have already been said...

I'd really like to shut all the doubters up by beating Utah on Friday :o

I highly doubt a first round exit, AI and Melo have played 2 games together and hes played 2 games at point with us i expect him to over dribble for now. Our defense is improving especially with Camby in the middle im sure we can only get better plus K-mart one of our better defenders is gone.

If your a Denver fan then this team is looking good as know one thought the two would gel so quickly.

CMJ wrote:If your a Denver fan then this team is looking good as know one thought the two would gel so quickly.

That's the word that Camby used about 5 times during his interview with NBA.com about AI. He practically said the same thing "everyone doubted it would work and no one thought we would gel together so quickly".

Yeah, I hope that they can and will keep this up.

Iverson knows he's on a good team now. He knows he doesn't have to drop 30 or 40 each night to give his team a chance.

Just wanted to say that JR Smith is really too self confident when it comes to shooting. This guy took more 3pt attempts than 2-point shots this season !!!

And he is only 39% from downtown .... so .... I just do not know what he is thinking. Teamplay ?
