well Krstic is a forward so he'd competing with Pierce, LeBron, Bosh, Howard, JO. tough company there, but who knows maybe Pierce & JO won;t be in the Eaast next season.

Great win for Nets

Asked about how New Jersey’s bigs would guard him, Shaq said: “They’re all the same. They all have their flop fraternity. A flopternity is what I call them; Flop Flop Flop.”

That quote made my AIM profile for a few days....but with Indiana having complained about the fouling and Pat Riley saying the same throughout the regular season, there might be some logic to that.

There definitly needs to be some change on that team. They need a proper big man...hopefully kristic can develop a post game. Running and gunning with no low post defence or offense never won a championship.

Damn, where the hell was I

I'm surprised the series ended so quick even though it was a close game. They dont need to overhaul their team, just a couple pieces here and there to complement what they already have. A decent big would be nice as was said before.

I didn't get to watch the whole series... and my question is who made it happened for the Miami Heats ? was it Wade or O'Neal?

New jersey could have easily won this series in 5 as well. I don't think they need to rebuild anytime soon, but as yohance said, they need a big. Brian grant would be perfect for them.

Wade.....but O'Neal sure as hell helped. Wade just made things happen in the 4th.

Depends entirely on their offseason. This year they spent way too much time on Shareef and then passed up on him entirely. What about Tim Thomas saying he wanted to come to NJ? And isn't Al Harrington from the NY/NJ area?

We've got a chance, just can't blow it again.

Nets need to change something... this type of team can't win anything. I mean, a team with Jason Collins as starter, and no backup inside players, only tall PF's like Robinson or Padgett. Kenyon, Kenyon, we need you ! Come back ! 8-)

what could rastah man do (assuming he's healthy enough to play) that Collins doesn't do already? Collins is no world beater though hehe- i agree NJ needs a better C
Jump.

Kenyon's a good defensive player, he shows no enmity towards NJ and a lot towards Denver, and he's guaranteed to be a good fit with Kidd and RJ. Also they need someone at that spot soon, no telling how long Cliff Robinson is going to last anymore.

Acquiring Martin is easier said than done, though. Also, while he's a nice player to have in the frontcourt when he's healthy and has his head on straight he's not really suited to playing centre so he's not the answer to New Jersey's pivot problem.

Then again Nenad's showing some promise at improving as an inside defender, he held Shaq to decent numbers.

I thought it was Collins who defended Shaq.

He plays center but most of the time he plays a mid-range game so they put one of their forwards on guarding him.

He still can hold his defensive assignments pretty well so he shows promise as a Dirk Nowitzki type.

I'm aware of that, but it was suggested the Nets needed a better centre; bringing in Kenyon Martin and leaving Krstic at centre does little to remedy the situation of needing a better centre.

True, but Kenyon is a better inside defender and if someone can play D inside it doesn't really matter Center or Power Forward right?

To a certain extent. As long as Martin is able to answer the call defending opposing centres on a regular basis it could work out. But acquiring him is still easier said than done.
