Allen Iverson said he wants to play for the Pacers.

Ric Bucher and Mark Stein said it on NBA coast to coast. They said that Denver and Indiana are the favorites right now and that Indiana is making the hardest push. They said AI is very interested in playing for the Pacers, and hasn't said that about any other team. Boston and Minnesota can't get anything done because both would need a third team to make it work, and neither have been sucessful at all.
Still no speculation as to what the Pacers would be giving up, but Granger has to be involved I think. I think if we are truley making as hard of a push as they say, we are probably offering Granger/Al/Tinsley.

Apparently Iverson was gonna be traded to the Bobcats but Iverson said he don't wanna play for 'em.
And a lot of people have been saying that the trade is gonna happen "tonight" which is like um now I think lol (it's wednesday afternoon for me, silly Americans being behind us Aussies

.)

Honestly I don't know what to say about that, Us getting AI will be Wicked!! I don't want AL to get traded

Honestly I don't see why Philly would want Granger. Sure he is good but they are pretty much set at small forward, and the fact they they will probably have a very high lottery pick in such a small forward/power forward dominated draft just makes it worse.

A Granger/Iggy swing combination would be amazing if they had a low post presence. I don't know how much you've seen Danny play, but believe me, he's going to develop in to a very, very good player in this league. He needs to go to a team like Philly post Iverson, because when he is more of a primary scorer he's going to shine. When he plays with Jermaine, Al, Jamaal and Jack at the same time, he doesn't get many touches, yet he still puts up 11-12 a game, and has had some 17-21 games. He's one of the top prospects and is going to be an underrated player untill he gets his chance and breaks out. Book it.
Granger would be the guy that can hit the outside shots and play a finesse post game, while Iggy would be the finisher, and the guy that slashes. They would compliment each other well. The other good thing for Philly, is that they still wouldn't win many games right away, so they would have a good chance at a high pick. It's going to take some time for them both to really develop. They'll both put up nice stats, but they still won't rebound. Unless they get Jeff Foster of course...

Granger/Carney/Korver... makes no sense. I hope they avoid that trade, as much as I wouldn't mind seeing Iverson with O'Neal that's just a shit trade IMO. I like the Golden State idea, providing they throw in some of the younger guys if Davis has to be involved.

Obviously Korver would be moved in the future. He's horrible, if he's part of their long term plans they are in huge trouble.

ROFL ON THE FLOOR.
Some retard at m2 suggested AI for Ricky Davis, Hassel and Hudson and PEOPLE ACTUALLY AGREED with him if the Wolves added picks.
ZOMFG, 2 4 year contracted average players and a dunker plus picks for AI.
If a deal similar to the Baron/VC deals occur, I'm quitting the nba lol.

If I was Golden State I would offer more if it meant swapping Davis for Richardson. That way Iverson could play the 2 and they could keep Davis who has been fantastic this year.
As for the Granger situation, It doesn't matter how good he is going to be at this point because they will just become the Atlanta Hawks - stacked at the swingmen positions and no where else. Danny Granger is solid, but so is Korver, Igoudala and (in future) Carney. All are young and need their playing time to develop, so that way Philly would only be holding back parts of their future.
Now, Granger could be traded off again for somebody Philadelphia actually needs, if thats the case then theres no problems here.
EDIT: KG for Ricky Davis? What are they gonna do? Swap positions?

KG?

Can't wait for the deal to happen though, love surprises..

If I were Philadephia I'd be trading one of Iguodala/Carney/Korver before I'd deal Granger, I think he is/will be better than all of them.

I don't know, Igoudala looks pretty damn good (which is hard to do on a team with Allen Iverson), Kyle Korver is pretty much Philadelphia's only good shooter and Rodney Carney is a pretty skilled player (watched alot of his Memphis games) who could really be something if he got stronger and bigger. If I was Philadelphia I would stick with the familiar players that I know what are capable of and deal Granger and others for a good point guard. Sure Tinsley has been great this season but he is still inconsistent and injury prone.

arrell wrote:Sorry for being a USAtoday whore, but it's a great website. David Dupree says why a team wouldn't want Iverson: "He's barely 6-feet tall, horrific on defense, needs the ball in his hands to be effective and a team would probably have to change its offense to cater to him. He has had an aversion to practice and was adamant about it. A team would also be on the hook for about $40 million the next two seasons on top of the $17.3 million he is earning this season."
but the big thing is that he sells tickets and jerseys.
Reason #1 why Charlotte was considering taking him in.

I've been awake for 28 hours, and I can't be getting old, I'm 15 lol.
BTW, Granger > Korver and Carney

Are you kidding me? That is the funniest thing I've ever read. B-Fizzle and Iverson in the same backcourt... wow. Yeah, I'm sure Allen would approve that trade.

You need to understand how a rebuilding process works. You rebuild by getting the best players you can possibly get regardless of what position they play. You don't try and build a complete team of prospects, you take what you can get. For Philly, if Granger is the best prospect that they can get, then you do the deal. You figure out all the other stuff down the road. If all those guys develop for Philly and they are stocked at those positions, then great! They can move one of them for a quality big man, or they can sign one through free agency. Do you think a quality big is more likely to sign with a team that has a lot of skilled players at a position, and a hole where he plays, or a team that has maybe 1 or 2 skilled players, or possibly, if Carney and Iggy don't really explode, no players worth coming to play with.
I'm still not completely getting my hopes up about AI, but I do consider it a real possibility, its hard not to with all the news thats come out. I think that if Denver makes an offer that is even close to equal to a Pacers offer, he will be headed there, because King would prefer to send him west.

I hope this is new, but Jon Barry said in ESPN that AI wants to play in Indiana
Thu Dec 14, 2006 2:50 am
And according to several rumours the Clippers are the frontrunners now. I wouldn't mind seeing AI in LA.

OK, Indiana is 95% out. Philly wanted Danny Granger, and we were unwilling to part with him. Too bad, AI isn't coming to the Nap.
Thu Dec 14, 2006 5:40 am
I'm truly hoping for Minnesota, or some completely unforseen, unpredictable blockbuster.
Everything I read seems to say that Golden State are the front-runners now, but I dislike that completely. It bores me.

Well, I think the Warriors would be making a big mistake. Giving up Davis and Biedrins in the deal is too much for an aging superstar. Well it might have an impact but on a long run the Sixers would be better off. My favourite now are the Clippers. I'd love to see two top players (i.e. Brand and Iverson) on the team. Philly would get a solid PG in Cassel and some expiring contracts as well.
