Yea...cause "hoopshype" is a well credited and respected website. What..did you google for an hour to find that one?

Kobe still the king
by Todd Dybas / January 22, 2008

Not that one "talking head" matters over what the masses think but...that article is outdated. I wanna see the opinions after kobe got schooled in the art of offense and defense after the last game.

No, I read most columns on HoopsHype because I think they're interesting. Just like I read the Gaebe Muoneke column or the player interviews or the Eddie Johnson articles.

I read that article the day it came out. I post it now because if a public poll on ESPN can count as an argument, a column on HoopsHype by a credited sportswriter can certainly count.

Yeah I think that the both players are very good..But Listen to the words of EA's commentator.. "Kobe can score every time hi want....." I think that's THE TRUTH...At the start of the season when Lakers made their best games.. Kobe didn't score so much...He played for his team and WITH his team..That was good..The results were good..At this time the best and most important player for lakers was Andrew Bynum..But now when he is out       (I want him back) you guyz see that KOBE can score..He average 35.4 in the games without Andrew..also he take many rebounds.. He was very good (best) in the individual performance..But you see the results 2-4  Man Kobe is good but Bynum was very important for the team..So Kobe must average at least 45+pts, 10+reb 8+asist
to make Lakers as good as they was on the start.. But the second way for that is Kwame Brown to show some good plays.. Maybe 3-4 double-doubles will help..Whatever.. We talk about LBJ also.. Yup he is very good player.. And he is very young.. I think that after some seasons..Maybe King James will be a King of The NBA..The only bad in Lebron is the individual performance..I mean that's not bad but I think he is on way to copy Kobe's mistakes... To be selfish and not to recognize other players form the team...I hope that won't happen..     ... But for final if i must compare the players THIS SEASON..I talk about Kobe and LeBron..I think that Kobe is way better than Lebron..Because the both players can do a AMAZING individual performances... But last few year Kobe learns how to play with his team...And that's make it the best player right know.. (That's only my opinion... :!: :!: )

Oh no-no.. Lebron is the best cause he just is
blah.
Those Kobe Vs LBJ threads are like rocky series.

Wow, Kobe fans are feeling the wrath of the Kobe vs MJ comparisons :o

I don't think anyone ever said LeBron is the best because he just is. He's the best cause he can do things like he did tonight versus the Blazers consistently. He and the cavs actually have a better record facing western teams then east...it's amazing. Talk about torching and lighting the "Blazers" up.

Yer but LeBron has always known how to play as a team.

Even though i'd preffer LeBron, i respect what Kobe has done to the game, his relentlessness (dunno if thats a word  ) and is a fierce competitor.

It hardly settles anything but nevertheless LeBron's performance against the Blazers in the fourth quarter was an impressive display. The Cavs looked dead in the water as the game wound down before LeBron hit those three threes and then made that reverse layup with 0.3 left. It made a game that was looking to be heading for a fairly mundane conclusion suddenly much more interesting all the way to the final buzzer.

I know, I saw the score on the internet at 2:40 left to go, Blazers were up by three. I just had a gut feeling it wouldn't end super close, so I chose not to watch it. I've been kicking myself for that decision for the past ten hours.

Fri Feb 01, 2008 6:36 am

Didn't know you cared about LeBron's performances that much. He'll make you a "Witness" soon enough.

Fri Feb 01, 2008 9:12 am

Just because I feel Kobe is the superior player doesn't mean I dislike LeBron in anyway. He's still amazing to watch any time I get the opportunity.

I'm glad I decided to watch until the end. I'd recorded the game and was debating whether to watch it because it had been a long day at work and I was feeling a bit tired but those final three minutes made it worth watching.

Great, I only feel worse now, haha.

You're welcome. ;)

Don't tell me you weren't convinced by that poll?
Many people voting > 1 sportswriter.
Don't tell me you didn't get the logic of that.

WoW the Kobe performance last day against Toronto was really impressive.. He was in the ZONE i think.. Every shot was going in..Was really beautiful to watch.. And i saw another thing.. Three players was guarding Kobe.. It was very easy for his teammates to score when they receive the ball... Toronto was really confused.. I think now whit allstar-caliber player and young and progressive players (Pau and Andrew) for kobe will be really easy to score and to make some great shows.. (Y) (Y)

LeBron.
I saw this already in RealGM.
Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:44 am

I didn't say to post your guess.

If others have seen before what I posted, sorry. I don't go to RealGM that much. I don't depend on RealGM for reliable hoops news.

Mon Feb 25, 2008 11:51 am

Good link...but kobe fans will say that kobe is still the best clutch player because..

A. He did such and such in past seasons

B. Stats don't mean anything and accuse you of being a hater and/or not watching laker games.

Mon Feb 25, 2008 4:13 pm

Yeah Lebrons a good player I know BIGGREEN is gonna flame me. Anyways I think Kobe is in the position where he doesnt need to score every possesion. He has a much better team now so dont think hes declinng just cuz Lebron has better stats. Another thing is Even this season i've never seen something Lebron has done that Kobe hasnt.
You can argue about this and that plays/games w/e but look at team records..............

Mon Feb 25, 2008 5:33 pm

Those Stats are interesting. interesting link, but its more bizarre that many of you guys think Lebron is more clutch by reading those stats. Lebron got himself into more games that forced clutch games(in the eastern conference  ). kobe played much less minutes and games that were forced to clutch situations. Think about it, the lakers have been dominating a lot of teams by a large margin, hence they play less games that puts them in clutch situation. On the other hand Lebron finds himself in a close game against teams that are bad AND yes, very good teams also. i do respect lebron's clutch game and how much he improved on it. But that's about all i could say about him when u compare.

according to those stats jamal tinsley pwns
