Jazz and Rockets go to a game seven.
Why do I have the feeling that T-Mac will never again advance to the second round?

Detroit vs SA would be good, and if that happens, I think SA would get it done. Whoever wins from the SAvPhoenix matchup will go to the Finals IMO...They're just too good...

As for the Cavs, well, they don't talk much about them now since they have a pretty easy way to the Conf Finals, and Im pretty sure they can beat NJ/TOR..

Alright, everyone knows that REAL MVP's show up in the playoffs...so here's my list of the best thus far in no order

East
Chauncey Billups
Luol Deng
LeBron James
Jason Kidd

West
Tim Duncan
Baron Davis
Steve Nash

Chuck Amare up there too, 24/14 plus a couple blocks is very impressive. Imagine if he plays like he did last time they met San Antonio...

Sat May 05, 2007 6:41 pm

Kidd averaging a triple double for the series is very impressive. He'll have to do it again, and the Nets will need more from their bench to get past Cleveland though.

Deng...I dont know what to say. I dont think the Bulls would have played that series as well as they did if he'd been traded to the Grizzlies.

The Pistons starters all did very well and they got a great contribution from McDyess as well. I think the Spurs are the only team left that can really beat the Pistons.

LeBron didnt really need to show up for the Cavs to beat Washington, but he did and dominated. I dont think he'd be able to do the same against Detroit or Chicago or San Antonio.

Baron Davis has to be the MVP of the entire first round. The most impressive series win that i can ever remember "seeing". Don Nelson deserved some recognition in COY voting.

Amare was probably my Suns pick as well, and he deserves an All-NBA selection. One of the greatest player comebacks in league history.

Timmy D was superb, but also not really tested. The Suns/Spurs matchup will be great to watch (for those of you who will be able to watch it), and Duncan vs Amare will be the highlight of it.

Houston is my pick to win game 7, and Yao would be the series MVP if they do. T-Mac needs to improve his shot if the Rockets are going to get past Golden State.

i don't know why everyone is so hung up on Amare given most of his contributions are directly attributable to Nash.

It's just rare to see a big man posting those sorts of numbers, nowadays. It's good for the NBA

Sun May 06, 2007 2:43 am

He still has to finish the damn play, I doubt that if you put Kurt Thomas or Pat Burke the Suns would have the same success. Also, it's not like Nash grabs rebounds and passes them to Amare in the boxscore or Nash blocks shots and gives them to Amare

Sun May 06, 2007 4:04 am

i dont think we will see the spurs again, i think this is the suns year, finally. amare, he deserves the credit he is getting. drex is right, amare is playing really well and you cant just plug anyone in there. sure nash will give everyone inflated scoreing numbers, thats just what he does, but they need amare to win and he is playing well.

just to extend on matts list a little, not that i would call him mvp worthy but dwight Howard deserves alot of credit imo for his play. granted they didnt win a game i still think he earned some much needed experience that should help futher his career along.

Sun May 06, 2007 11:03 am

From what I remember, Dwight Howard didn't play that well in the Detroit series, other than rebounding. The DET/ORL series was the only series I didn't watch pretty much every game of though, so I might be wrong.

Sun May 06, 2007 12:17 pm

i think some are still underestimating the Spurs. They are still the best defensive team in the L, and the best at controlling tempo which is what i believe will give them the edge. Also, no team defends better in transition thatn the Spurs!

Pistons nice win, good focus....gotta win the nxt @ home!!!

Sun May 06, 2007 12:40 pm

Utah are scoring WAY too damn easy so far, Houston needs some stops.

Sopcast is great by the way (Y)

Sun May 06, 2007 2:00 pm

I don't remember the second round ever starting before the first round has finished before. Has this happened before? I just found it strange...

Sun May 06, 2007 2:04 pm

Games over, Utah advances :D Good played by the Rockets.

Sun May 06, 2007 2:11 pm

Almost over. I wanted the Rockets to advance (N) But they couldn't get a freakin' rebound in consecutive possesions.

Sun May 06, 2007 2:14 pm

T-Mac fails...again.

Sun May 06, 2007 2:15 pm

Yup, sadly, this loser will probably never get out of 1st round haha.

Sun May 06, 2007 2:18 pm

What is he like the 3rd of 4th in playoff scoring average history and hasnt been out of the first round?

Sun May 06, 2007 2:21 pm

Sun May 06, 2007 2:27 pm

Not even close :? You know, I should stop reading some of your posts, makes my head hurt.

Yup, sadly, this loser will probably never get out of 1st round haha.

Haha, what a loser. Let's watch all the 2nd round games of Carmelo in the playoffs now

Sun May 06, 2007 2:57 pm

Did yall see Tmac almost cry at the post game conference just a min ago?

Sun May 06, 2007 3:26 pm

Tmac needs to get his shot right.... He should stick with driving the ball all series... Seriously, what more can you ask for, 29 points 13 assists, 5 boards, 3 blocks.... He needs to hit freethrows at 80% and shoot better.. Kobe would have taken the rockets out of the 1st round... I feel like he is getting further and further away from Kobe, Kobe's variety of moves and making impossible shots a lot more often than Tmac..

Jazz is gonna kill the Warriors, no answer for Boozer, Jazz's execution will get them layups/dunks after 1 another.. Warriors should be able to steal a game or 2... I feel like Jazz is too tough and athletic, they are almost as athletic as Warriors but they got a lot of power, Okur, Boozer(this guy was amazing), Harping, Fisher, Williams..

Don't tell me they are going to use Barnes, Pietris on Boozer.. On Okur would be "alright" but Okur is a 250 pounder prob,, hes much bigger than Dirk inside.. Boozer will just give Warriors as much problem as any single player can.. It'll be Biedrins' job, i think he can do a good job, he'll limit boozer to 30point a night.. Biedrin's got great speed, just lack a little bit of defence skills and power..

Sun May 06, 2007 3:55 pm

GSW will have problems with Boozer yes, but Okur? he'll be shooting J's...Jackson/Barnes can cover him. Also, Jazz ARE NOT athletic. GSW wins in that respect in every position.

On the other end of the table, Boozer will have to guard someone too! Someone that can score. What about Monta Ellis? no one on Jazz can match his quickness. Baron Davis will have easy pickings too!

This one oculd go 7, i'm hoping for a GSW win.
