^Good way to look at it. A lot of rappers wear throwbacks so it must be cool.

Gosh, I'm so old skewl with my blue Iverson hardwood classic 8-)

Tue Dec 12, 2006 11:16 pm

LMAO, I would've never looked at it in that way. 8-)

I saw an article that said that the trade will be made in 48 hours but I can't remember when that article was published so meh.

Tue Dec 12, 2006 11:35 pm

As far as i know this was sunday. They said the trade should be through tuesday.

Out of those teams we heard rumors about so far where do you all want to see Iverson play?

my okay-list:
1. Minnesota
2. Boston
3. Indiana
4. Chicago

my WTFOMFGpleaseNO-list:
1. L.A. Lakers
2. Dallas
3. Sacramento
4. Denver

Wed Dec 13, 2006 12:46 am

I don't mind seeing him in Boston or Minnesota. I hope he doesn't go to the Lakers, Kings, Pacers, Bulls, Nuggets and especially not Dallas.

There has been another rumor floating around but I believe it's a fake.
Iverson to Orlando for Grant Hill (expiring contract), Jameer Nelson and Trevor Ariza. Makes sense for Philly but not for Orlando.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 12:49 am

yeah Orlando probably doesn't want to break up 3 rotation players atm

Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:07 am

I'm 100% rooting for AI to go to Minnesota, everything else at this point for me is a major disappointment, or maybe not Toronto, imagine that

Wed Dec 13, 2006 2:29 am

When Iverson steps back on the court, watch him drop 50 on his new team

Wed Dec 13, 2006 2:40 am

Minnesota's where I'd like to see AI go most. Just think it'd be the most interesting and entertaining to watch. Not real big on him going to Boston at all - just doesn't excite me. Would be interesting to see him play alongside Ron Artest in Sacramento, or Melo in Denver. Chicago, Indiana, Dallas are all ehh; I'd rather not see him any of those places -- maybe Chicago, but definitely not the other two. Lakers would certainly be interesting, to see him and Kobe in the same backcourt; wouldn't mind that either.

Thinking about what'd be the most fun/exciting to watch and play with in Live. :P

Wed Dec 13, 2006 2:52 am

Philadelphia was gonna send him to Charlotte in a package, Allen said he ain't going there LOL

Wed Dec 13, 2006 2:56 am

Dallas and Denver seem to be out of the game as the Sixers wanted guards but both teams are not willing to trade Harris or Smith. So Warriors, Celtics and Kings should be still in the game.

Chicago has basically said "not interested" already.
I think Boston is also out, read a rumor Philly wanted Al Jefferson and Boston refused, but is offering lesser guys.

How low has AI sunk when Danny Ainge won't trade a career 7 ppg PF for him?

Wed Dec 13, 2006 5:07 am

Indiana is offering anyone but JO and Granger. If Boston is really out, then it seems like Indiana is the clear frontrunner.

You know, there -is- more than just money and stats in the game of basketball. -If- (and I'm not saying Jefferson is or is not, I don't know the player well) a player is good for team morale, has strong work ethic and is loyal to the coach and the team, he might do alot more good compared to someone who scores alot more yet is damaging all around.

Personally I'm hoping AI goes to LA and screws their team chemistry up.

You can get worse than having kobe? Didnt know that was possible but it makes sense, kobe's finally starting to get used to smush/odom and company...that could be fun to watch but i'm sick of Sportscenter stories about feuds. I want AI to go somewhere where the games will be what to watch, not the fireworks. I'm really liking the idea of minnesota the more i consider it.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 8:34 am

I think Minnesota is probably going to end up getting him. I think Glen Taylor has been trying to throw up smoke screen after smoke screen, and now the Minny silence is deafening.

Indiana has said that they are definitley listening and taking a passive stance on everything, but aren't actively pursuing him. Take that with a grain of salt though, Donnie Walsh is not going to show his hand. I believe the report that came out where Vescey said the Pacers are offering everything but JO and Granger. I think we have a lot of young talent that Philly might be willing to take a chance on. I also think they might be willing to take on Jack. The reason being that if he gets convicted on Criminal Recklesness, then his contract becomes voided. Its a different way to get an expiring deal. That's 6 million off the books for Philly if that happens. If he gets off, then he has no legal problems, and its less of a gamble for Philly. However, in order for us to get them to take on Jack for AI, then we'd probably have to send Granger and Harrison along with either Josh Powell, Rawle Marshall or Shawne Williams. Shawne played his first minutes against Chicago yesterday and was extremely impressive, scoring 13. He had problems with foul trouble and defense, but both looked easily fixable. It could have been a case of showcasing by the Pacers.

I think these are the most likely trades if it is not a 3 way.

Philly Trades- Allen Iverson

Minnesota trades- Randy Foye, Ricky Davis and Troy Hudson.

Philly Trades- Allen Iverson

Indiana Trades- Jeff Foster, Stephen Jackson, Danny Granger, Shawne Williams.

Boston doesn't seem like they are willing to part with enough for Philly to bite, and Sacramento has dropped out of the race. I know there was the rumor that the Clippers were prepared to send Shaun Livingston and Corey Maggette, but I don't buy it. Livingston is still the future for the Clips, and I don't see them making that deal.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 9:44 am

I still say Seattle. They want to get something in Return for Rashard, and they can't do much worse than they have now. On top of that they'd make Iverson a 2 guard again, where he is more comfortable, and they'd have a real, pure PG running the offense in Luke Ridnour.

Iverson would also have time to adjust to the team with Ray being out till probably the end of the month.

Though I feel it is a stretch, I still consider it a possibility just because I think this trade is going to be a surprising one.

0% chance of him going to Seattle. I thought of that as a possiblity early on, but after AI seems to be picking and choosing where he's going there is no way in the world he agrees to go to Seattle.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 9:56 am

I really hope Philadelphia get SOME value for him. I don't like the Indiana trade at all, Tinsley's too unreliable and the entire deal is essentially for Danny Granger, they have plenty of players in his position. I like the Boston/Chicago trades, at least they's get some players they can actually use.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 10:50 am

The Indiana trade won't happen. Iverson won't go to Indiana. Showing of hands and what not, all very cute, but it's just not going to happen.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 11:26 am

I think it will be Golden State or Minnesota.

Minnesota send:
Randy Foye, Ricky Davis, Troy Hudson.

or

Golden State send:
Baron Davis, Patrick O'Bryant or Ike Diogu

Wed Dec 13, 2006 11:48 am

Sorry for being a USAtoday whore, but it's a great website. David Dupree says why a team wouldn't want Iverson: "He's barely 6-feet tall, horrific on defense, needs the ball in his hands to be effective and a team would probably have to change its offense to cater to him. He has had an aversion to practice and was adamant about it. A team would also be on the hook for about $40 million the next two seasons on top of the $17.3 million he is earning this season."

Check for http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketba ... ocus_x.htm
for a good read.

Off topic: There are only five active players who have played 10 seasons or more, who have stuck to one team only. They are: Duncan, Iverson, Garnett, Ilgauskas and Kobe. Tells you something about the business of the NBA.

Wed Dec 13, 2006 12:01 pm

I would love to see Iverson in Minnesota because he is one of my favorite players. With that said, the Timberwolves are playing great basketball right now and everything seems to be clicking. Does the team really want to have to go through another adjustment period?

Also, I've read reports that Iverson has come to practices drunk and he parties a lot. I wonder how well that would go over with Garnett if Iverson did that in Minnesota. You know Ticket wouldn't take that too well.

I don't know, every day it seems more and more likely. AI himself said he's open to going to Indiana.

It seems like its down to Minny, Boston and the Pacers. Minnesota has said they don't have the peices to get it done, although I still think that's the most likely destination.

Donnie Walsh is better then you think guys. If he really wants to make this his last hurrah before handing over the reigns to Larry next year, he will try hard as hell, and you never know what might happen.
