Hope this ain't gonna be a sweap. NO that would not be worth waking up at 4 A.M., even if I'm going for Dallas, I would like to see this series go to game 6 or 7.
Anyway, what I saw from this finals, Wade is a bastard with EGO bigger than Kobes. He and Walker sunk the team AGAIN. I can't watch those retarded jump shots or idiotic layups by Wade. His percentage is just pathetic. Anyways, nice to see Dallas playing some intelligent ball this mourning, it as really nice to watch. The excecution in the third quarter was just great. The ball moved nicely and they got the easy buckets. Their defense was incredible, Shaq ain't Shaq nomore. That just proves, that A. Johnson defenetely deserves the COY award. He's one of the main reasons Dallas are winning. And is it just me, or is there something wrong inside the Heat?

Shaq is washed up :proud: .

Shaq being held to 2-5 further proves my point to an NBA noob that Mavs play defence.

Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:43 pm

You call them NBA newbies but you think the trailblazers will win the championship next year. This series isnt over yet, but game 3 is a must win for the heat.

Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:49 pm

that game was pure Ownage by the Mavs.

We just need to win 2 more (Y)

Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:59 pm

Wonder if Kobe is happy with how Shaq is performing?

Props to Mavs for winning this game, a very important win indeed. I wonder how soon Wade's MJ comparison will die and turn to ashes, if Heat get swept.

BTW, Shaq is 0-7 in Finals without Kobe (4 losses with Orlando, 2 with Miami, 1 with Lakers).

Dirk for MDE!

Mon Jun 12, 2006 4:07 pm

MDE? Wonder if Shaq will come to play next game? People were expecting big things after his 2nd career finals low, and what did he give them? his all time career finals low! Better pull himself together, I am yet to have one of 'my teams' win since the Lakers those few years ago.

Thats a big call! I think they should be able to come away with atleast 2. Either way, i see this going to a game 7.

An interesting stat: Shaq is 0-7 without kobe in the nba finals(0-4 in 95, 0-1 in 2000 when kobe missed game 3, and 0-2 this season)

That's how kobe sleeps at night

Well I can't say I'm suprised by the result.Dallas's defense was out of this world they, shut down Shaq they didn't give Wade easy shoots and they killed Miami's urge to win in this game.Heat are down by 2,but with some great games and big D they can still win the championship. The Heat now need to win game 3,because if they lose the game the finals are probably over.

Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:25 am

The finals are probably over already. 93% of the time when a team starts the NBA Finals 2-0 they win the series. The other team hasn't come back to win the series since like 1960-something.

I highly, highly doubt the Heat take all 3 games at home. Dallas is just clicking on all cylinders and I expect them to win the series in 5 games. Again, history is not on Miami's side here, as only one team has ever won all 3 games at home in the 2-3-2 format.

Interesting note: On an ESPN.com poll, the question was "Which team will win game 2 of the NBA Finals?" - They have state-by-state results on there, and Texas was 70-30 in favor of the Mavs winning, Florida was 70-30 in favor of the Heat winning, and the state of Michigan was 80-20 in favor of Dallas... apparently everyone here has some serious hatred for Miami  Kinda weird that the team's homestates aren't as confident about their team as an outsider state is...

Shaq is being humbled nicely. A sweep would be great, but he'd still probably run his mouth. Erica Dampier outplayed Shaq today......but i'm sure Shaq's inneffectiveness has nothing to do with what Dallas is doing.

Tue Jun 13, 2006 3:23 am

If I Remember Correctly....

last year's playoff started off as horsehit- the Spurs dominated the Pistons in the first 2 games at home. we all remember how that series turned out

a wise man once did say- unbunch your panties...

i expect Shaq to again draw inspiration from a phone call from his Dad and have a killer game

go figure: pick-n- roll, ball movement around the perimeter, and trapping Shaq is working so far

Tue Jun 13, 2006 3:58 am

I don't think Miami would get sweap in this series but it probably would be
a 4-1 or a 4-2, because during the whole 05-06 season maimi never
beat mavs in the 2 games, and now in the playoffs thay still can't beat them
and now its when mavs defense is better than every.

*Did you see those last 3, 3 pointers that Stackhouse did in the 2nd quater
and he did the 2nd three with a foul and got the 4 pt play i was like...WOW!

Tue Jun 13, 2006 4:15 am

OMG really! I saw that play too =D .

Tue Jun 13, 2006 6:32 am

Impressive win by the Mavs.

Although I don't think it'll be a sweep I'm pretty sure that this game gives Dallas a lot of momentum and confidence... Although too much confidence can kill a team.

Jerry Brickhouse actually shot 4/5 from three? Is that possible? That defies all logic. I still love the guy though.

Coming from the same guy that predicted the Heat take the series in five...

If the Mavericks continue to play like this I can see them winning in 4-5.

But I don't think the Heat will go down that easily, hopefully they make this interesting and they take it to a sixth or seventh game.

Tue Jun 13, 2006 7:11 am

dallas' transformation has been nothing short of incredible. just two years ago, people would make fun of them for their defense (or lack thereof). i haven't seen a team hold shaq to 2 of 5 shooting, ever - while at the same time containing the other stars. someone from the heat other than wade or shaq NEED to step up big time..

Tue Jun 13, 2006 7:50 am

Has anyone honestly, ever seen Payton nail a longrange jumper? I swear he hasn't made one all playoffs.

the same could be said during the detroit-miami serires, yet miami pulled out winning the serires 4-2

I haven't seen it myself yet. I've never seen him not look at the ref in disbelief or get mad after a foul has been called on him. He will intentionally foul someone and still wonder why he got called for the foul.
