MVP Winner is....LeBron James

expected........youngest mvp in history

EDIT: Ernie Johnson: What motivated you to win?
LBJ: I think it was Charles Barkley for kickstarting us after saying it was over. Thanks Charles.

IT'S OVER

And LBJ with the MVP, but damn man, pass the ball. How many 3's did he take?

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:23 pm

East baby, Pistons D sets the tone!

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:25 pm

wow mvp for lebron.. too bad for west and tmac

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:26 pm

LBJ BABBYYY! WOOOOOO! My day could not have been any better! What a fuckin comeback!!

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:27 pm

The WEST sucks ass man!!!

I cant believe they lost the game.

Why on earth werent the starters in the game more often.(n)

Ray Allen sucks ass. (n)

The Pistons got too much credit for the comeback.(n)

They pushed T-Mac for MVP too much and nobody was able to really get in the flow.(n)

Kobe didnt get enough shots (nice clutch bucket though (y)).(n)

Dwayne in the right place at the right time. :(

Kudos to Lebron (MVP) for playing a good game.(y):(

....Yup, that sums up how I feel about the game.

Nice game. I would of liked to have seen the West win, but good nonetheless.

That last Kobe make was sweet.

On a side note, Carrie Underwood is fucking hot.

Wrong as far as Kobe's concerned, I thought he and T-Mac would be at the forefront but everyone was deferring to T-Mac. Looks like my prediction about the East winning in a close contest with LeBron taking home the MVP was right on the money. :headbang: (Y)

Good game, very entertaining, and plus... Bosh got some playing time. 16:35 to be exact.

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:32 pm

here are the guys that moved the ball well....Billups (minus 3 unnecessary 3's), Parker, Nash, Kobe

guys who forced stuff too much....Wade, AI, LeBron

i thought the minute distribution was good too. How about Ben Wallace blocking Gasol. Owned!

AWWWREADY!!!!

I'm really starting to think Ray Allen and Iverson are past their primes after this game. How do you play that badly in an ASG where people are given explicit instructions not to play defense?

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:36 pm

ben showed up besides the airballed freethrow

I'll live with a guy "forcing" shots when he shoots 9/11 from the field. LeBron definitely forced some threes but his 12/21 isn't bad otherwise. Only four turnovers between those two as well. AI certainly forced some (that shot Wade bailed him out on a good example), I'm not surprised to see he finished 5/14.

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:39 pm

I thought Wade played pretty well. I agree on Lebron forcing it though but he had a good game so its not like it was in vain (sp?).

edit: Gasol getting stuffed was too funny.

...also funny how coincidentally Pau and Ben were the only players not to score.

Plenty of ill-advised shots between them, Allen was just tossing them up from downtown...his cold streak carrying over from the three point shootout, it would seem.

Three point shooting was a bit woeful all around, but it was the free throw shooting that was truly awful. West shot 58%, East fell to 50%. Despite his hot shooting elsewhere, T-Mac finished 2/7...Clyde Drexler's record is quite safe.

Fine game this year, some sloppy play here and there but that's typical of All-Star games as they come out to put on a show and try to find each other. Nice highlights, nice comeback, nice individual performances and a competitive finish. About all you can ask for in an All-Star game...unless you're a fan of the West, in which case you could ask for a win as well.

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:44 pm

Ray Allen, you are a hog, man, the guy was just jacking up shots. Then he held the ball for like 15 seconds twice and at the last second passed to KG.

Lebron did good, but he was definately hogging a lot. Everyone else on the East was moving the ball around, but he was a little of a blackhole offensively. At the end too he had that interesting 3PT attempt when they were up 2.

Wade and Billups also did good in the game, Billups especially, he was the one that really rallied them on to their comeback.

in the first half half he forced some passes, but settled in the 2nd.

Chris Bosh played really well too.

For me though, there was no standout player deserving MVP. I feel LeBron forced too many shots as if he was gunning for MVP. It'd be him dribbling the ball up court and jacking a 3 w/o passing the ball, or getting the ball and shooting a contested 3.

Kobe played the best w/in the context of the game.

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:47 pm

Allen was like 0 for 7 I think from downtown. Seems the bad finish to the 3 point contest ran over into the allstar game.

T-Mac had 26 shots in 27 minutes. WoW, thats alot for someone not named Kobe. :)

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:53 pm

Kobe was good today. Nice all-round numbers.
Allen was crap. Couldn't hit anything :?
I really wanted McGrady to win and all due to that he is playing in front of his crowd and all the problems he is going through now. Be great.
LeBron was great today but he should of passed it more. Seemed serious most of the time.

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:53 pm

Is anyone watching the Postgame Press Conf ?

Tmac is a funny guy...should watch it if you arent already (Y)

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:56 pm

Great game eventually at 4th quarter. F***** West, I wanted T-Mac for MVP so they can get some consolation for their shitty season so far. LBJ hogged it
quite a lot, do some showtime dammit. Finally they can't put a break on and turnover heaps, AND1 bloody did better than that.

Anybody see that dunk + and1? He went up for a dunk, someone kinda tapped it out of his has and was in mid air, and he got it back and dunked it, and the crowed was like, "Ooohhhh!!!", and I ws like, "Yeah... and he's a Raptor."
