Lee is definitely 6th man of the year if he continues to play off the bench

I second that. New York doesn't have that bad of a team. Honestly we don't even have ANY superstars, just guys who have failed to live up to their names. Both of out "superstar" point guards have never even played in the second round of the playoffs. The one thing that makes me feel good about this team though is the young guys. We got a hell of a future to look forward to, thanks to Zeke. I hate the guy, but he sure as hell knows talent when it comes to the draft. I think they should keep him as a draft scout or something along those lines after he gets fired or quits, which is bound to happen someday. So "rehauling" the roster wouldn't make any sence. We just did that two years ago and it ended up with us having a worse record than before. Wait for David Lee. Wait for Channing Frye. Wait for Nate Robinson. Wait for Rolando Balkman. We a future ahead of us, FUCK REHUALING. Sure a trade or two here or there would be nice, but nothing too major. Like blackdeath said, this isn't NBA Live where your sitting on your bed at 3 in the morning making one retarded trade after another, leaving you with "JUST ONE SUPERSTAR". I'm not saying its great right now cause its fucked up but it could be worse.

What do you call a power forward that averages 7 rebounds?

Actually, theflash02 brings up a good point. In order to become "elite", you need at least one franchise player that you can build around. We had Patrick, but unfortunately he never had that number two guy. Jordan had Pippen, Shaq had Kobe, Magic had Kareem, etc. To get a franchise player, you:

a) Tank the season, and hopefully get lucky in the draft(SA with Duncan, Cleveland with LeBron).

b) Sign a franchise player. To do that, you MUST get under the cap. Forget sign & trades, because no GM in his right mind would take on these bloated contracts(there's only one Isiah). And there's a lot of anti-NY bias and hatred for Isiah. You think Kevin McHale or Larry Bird want to deal with him and help the Knicks? C'mon now.

WFAN's Joe Benigno hit the nail right on the head. Until the light bulb goes off in Dolan's head, and he hires someone to manage NY's cap properly, the Knicks will be stuck in NBA purgatory. Let these contracts run out, ship out some of these losers, and take it from there.

EDDY CURRY - THE BIG MYSTERY

I would have fired Isiah over this trade.

there's only one Isiah

Thats one of the funniest things I have heard in a while

If Curry was to stop being such a fat pussy ( :? ) and the Knicks could somehow grab Oden, they could be on their way up. I agree, let the fat contracts run out or ship out the overpaid benchwarmers for expiring contracts is pretty much the only way out.

Imagine, Knicks get rid of Francis and Marbury, manage to grab Greg Oden or Kevin Durant, sign an all star point guard and Eddy Curry hardens up... In a season or two this starting lineup could be very good:

C: Greg Oden
PF: Eddy Curry
SF: Quentin Richardson
SG: Jamal Crawford
PG: Chauncey Billups

Or...

C: Eddy Curry
PF: Channing Frye
SF: Kevin Durant
SG: Jamal Crawford
PG: Chauncey Billups

Nice on paper... but then again so are the current Knicks.

Can't happen. Even if the Knicks tank the season, the Bulls have the option of trading picks(part of the Eddy Curry deal).

Now you know why hardcore fans are so frustrated. Fire Isiah!

Wow, I forgot about the whole draft situation. Knicks are doomed, the only thing they really have going for them is that they are in New York, where all the big time free agents would consider playing simply because of the city.

Actually its more of a negative than a positive. Most players instantly think in their heads "New York?" and then "Hell No.". We have the media to thank for that, and also we have very high expectations.

LOOOOOL, this is hilarious! "The Black Shit!" LOL!

Save some what for the owner of the thread?

This is my thread as much as it's his thread, as much as it's CK's thread, as much as it's amphatoast's thread. It's a Knicks fan thread.

Your comment was very...uh...inane. This thread is almost 30 pages and you come in here stating the obvious...Yea, like nobody ever mentioned that in the 1400 posts in this thread, right? The Knicks are $50 million over the cap. What do you think they can do? Cut all of the players and be back under the cap? Trade them away? Isaiah has a pension for trading good players for players who won't ever live up to their potential in New York. He tries to take stars and turn them into role-players. Think a little bit before you post unless it hurts too bad.

Kinda funny, that has NOTHING to do with the KNICKS what so ever. You should take your own advise.

I don't get this at all. Isiah won championships on a team that played smart offense and tough, hard-nosed defense. But unlike Joe Dumars, he assembled a team that does none of that. This team has no basketball IQ at all.

Lee continues to impress with a stat line of 11points, 13rebounds, 8 assist. Almost a triple-double off the bench

Eddy Curry grabs 10 rebounds.....is that an error in the boxscore? or a career high? His mother must be proud no doubt.
