jason collins will start at centre, hes had the most experience starting on the court

Tue Feb 05, 2008 3:26 pm

Haha... taking the question seriously though... roughly I think the rotation would be more like this:

Kwame/Collins
Darko/Warrick/A. Brown
Gay/Cardinal
Miller/Navarro/Jacobsen
Conley/Lowry/Crittenton

In all fairness that perhaps remains to be seen as they'll be under the cap this offseason but it also remains to be seen whether they can put that to good use.

My statement has no basis, as always.

I think this is the opportunity that Kwame awaits to improve his game.

this actually looks more like a trade that only the AI on NBA live would make. but, If the grizzlies can make mike miller's contract and brian cardinal's contract disappear, they can be in playoff contention again next season... haha, what am I saying??? after jerry west left, the entire franchise went south, not Memphis Tennessee south, but more like Tijuana Mexico south...

Funny enough I think Phil is rather disappointed with this deal.

Jackson said about Brown: "His teammates really loved him. … The reality is Kwame has a game. We're going to miss the part of the game he gave us: knocking people around with his big body."

:)

i agree, this will be his last chance to show hes not the biggest bust in nba history

Wed Feb 06, 2008 7:48 am

I wouldn't call him the biggest bust in NBA History...his career is already longer than LaRue Martin's and is closing in on Pervis Ellison.

He wouldn't have gone number one if Jordan wasn't picking...everyone else wanted Chandler, Curry and Gasol. And it's not like 30 teams didn't pass on Gilbert Arenas.

Wed Feb 06, 2008 7:54 am

lol it was an over exaggeration to make my point

Wed Feb 06, 2008 8:56 am

Damn, talk about a crippled team. Jason Collins is pretty much useless, and Kwame is a shame to the entire basketball community. Even if Gay and Miller start doing everything, and they probably will, that's not going to save the Grizzlies at this point...

Not necessarily; unless they do something with that cap space they could be stuck at square one for the forseeable future.

Wed Feb 06, 2008 9:50 am

Well, time to see the man of the moment in action. Definitely not the team we are all salivating to see because Andrew still isnt (at least speaking on my own behalf) back but definitely a strong team nonetheless. We played our best with a strong inside presence earlier this season so it should be interesting to see what kind of performance LA turns in tonight. Hope everyone tunes in. :)

Wed Feb 06, 2008 10:21 am

For some reason, I'm not buying the hype. I think I'm just so used to Kobe screwing the Lakers ever since Shaq left. It's hard, but if the wins start stringing together for the rest of the season, maybe I can change.

First 2 pts are a dunk for Gasol. It begins. :)

edit: 2nd 2 pts are a dunk. :)

I enjoy the sarcasm and am somewhat sad I didnt see this post before because I'd take you up on that one.

Anyways, pretty good night for Gasol and Lakerland in general. Kobe Bryant is having a horrible night offensively with 6 pts(had some issues with a jammed finger he had to get treatment in the lockerroom for during the game), 3 of 13 with 7 turnovers and 8 assists, yet LA is leading comfortably by 10 with a minute to play. Correction, 12 points after a dunk plus the foul for Odom. Gasol has 24 pts and 11 rbs....sweeeeeeet. Add that to the fact Vince Carter and the Nets actually showed up for this game.

Seriosuly, imagine if Kobe was having an average night. I've never been so happy with 6 points. :)

15 point win.

Wed Feb 06, 2008 1:38 pm

His first night has been good.
Nice starting Pau.

---24 pts , 12 rbs , 4 asts---

Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:47 pm

I wonder if this will be the last big trade of the season.

Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:57 pm

theres still a few weeks till the deadline, so probably not

and gee, kobe only scored 6 points in 40 minutes

Wed Feb 06, 2008 3:44 pm

Too bad I didn't get to watch the game. But by simply looking at the box scores, we can see how rounded the Lakers were able to play tonight. Albeit against a sub .500 team, they were still able to beat out the Nets on every statistical category.

Can't wait until Bynum and Ariza is back.

Thu Feb 07, 2008 12:59 pm

Wow ...no new posts about gasol after tonight's outting? Did the bandwagon take a coffee break?

Thu Feb 07, 2008 1:11 pm

Hmm, Bryant`s finger injury is not good at all.

Thu Feb 07, 2008 1:53 pm

Hmm, maybe because we are waiting for Bynum to come back, before making judgments. Simply put, of course the Lakers will still loose games, especially if its on a back to back game night. And Atlanta is not like the chapped liver they were like in the 90's.

Anyway, I think it was a good effort on the Lakers this evening, despite the loss. Most of the guys did very well. But, that Al Horford is just a monster on the boards, and he is leading all rookies for rpg, plus josh smith make all the defensive stops.

Thu Feb 07, 2008 3:18 pm

That's more like it....man up to your losses. With the way everyone was orgasming all over their keyboards in this thread...I was just suprised at how quiet it got all of a sudden. I thought maybe the keys got stuck and no one could type. :?
