Wow, for a Nets ffan, you sure are a pessimist. You won the game and you call it meaningless?
Well, maybe its because I'm a Raptors fan. I don't get the privelege of being unsatisfied with a win.
Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:04 pm
It is meanless because it don't effect the team in anyway, but VC could have gotten something out of it but didn't.
Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:12 pm
Like I said. I'm a Raptor fan. A win to me is like winning the lottery, so regardless of a game being pointless, I'd still pop the champaigne bottles after a 1 point victory.

The Nets can beat the Heat in the conference semifinals....and they'll push Detroit far in the series if they play like they did during the win streaks.
Any idea on possible centers/big men they should try to get in the offseason??? besides collins and krstic there's nobody.
Tue Apr 18, 2006 4:48 am
You never know but most likely Heat will stop them but if it ain't them then Pistons will.
Tue Apr 18, 2006 6:40 am
They're 3-1 against Miami...the one game they lost was because of controversial calls late in the game.
Detroit they're 2-2 against, including one at home. And the Pistons are just another good team since the All-Star break.

April 19, 2006 -- Who will the Nets play in the first round of the playoffs?
Probably the Pacers - but New Jersey also could open against Milwaukee, Chicago or Washington.
With the NBA regular season ending tonight, here's how the various scenarios would play out for the Nets.
* It's Indiana if: Washington, Chicago and Indiana all win, or if Washington and Indiana win and Chicago loses. Or, if Washington loses while both Indiana and Chicago win. Or, if Washington and Chicago lose and Indiana wins. Got that?
* It's Chicago if: Washington and Chicago win and Indiana loses.
* It's Washington if: Washington and Indiana lose and Chicago wins.
* It's Milwaukee if: Washington wins while Chicago and Indiana lose. Or if Washington, Chicago and Indiana all lose.
I know there are only few Jersey fans, but who do you what them to face?
Edited: VC has finally done: becoming the highest points scored in a season player in the Nets franchise. Nets are hoping for 50 wins, so we most win tonight.
Thu Apr 20, 2006 7:22 am
Chicago's doing too well lately, 9-1 is dangerous. Washington or Milwaukee should be a good match for them. Then in the second round they should be facing the Miami Heat, which looks like a sure win if they keep the intensity they've had against that team this year.
Thu Apr 20, 2006 11:57 am
So much for 50 wins......
Thu Apr 20, 2006 12:43 pm
Didn't really matter much. 49 or 50 doesn't mean much. It was more of a priority to rest their good players.
Ugh, bad deal playing the Pacers. Tough matchup for them. Hopefully Indiana will be set back by injuries enough for the Nets to win.
If they win the 2nd round's questionable. Chicago, as they've been playing, stands a chance of giving the Heat a challenge and maybe might meet the Nets.
Thu Apr 20, 2006 3:38 pm
There you have it folks. The first round is set and ready. Nets VS. Indiana. It is still unpredictable to me. Our streaks of inconsistant deffense and a constant no show of offense will dim our chances. Our chances are 55 to 45 winning.
Prediction: Nets barely win, 4-3
Fri Apr 21, 2006 3:26 pm
I'd say 4-2 Nets. or 4-1
Sat Apr 22, 2006 5:45 am
Who knows? People thought they had a chance against Miami last year too. But they're known for being choke artists. Screw up good things in the end.
Sun Apr 23, 2006 11:35 am
but last year Richard Jefferson was playing with an injury
Sun Apr 23, 2006 12:33 pm
Still if they finished the season 15-4 and shook up some good teams in that without RJ they could've at least done something against the Heat at that time. They were just downright pathetic in those 4 games.
Mon Apr 24, 2006 3:46 am
SO such for the return of Vinsanity: 2/10 from the field. 0/4 from the arc...you got to be kidding
Mon Apr 24, 2006 3:52 am
It's a really close game so far.
Mon Apr 24, 2006 4:12 am
at this point i'm calling it a 7 game series.
so much for "NETS ARE THE HOTTEST TEAM IN THE L RIGHT NOW"

choke artists #1
Mon Apr 24, 2006 5:41 am
Nets fans are emo. We're going to OT
EDIT: No, wait. It's Pacers up by 1 with 0.9 to go.
EDIT2: 90-88.
EDIT3!: Indiana won
Mon Apr 24, 2006 8:26 am
Hey, put down that thumbs up.
Mon Apr 24, 2006 8:28 am
Nah, it's cool that way. It gives a more positive vibe to the thread
It would still be a

if the Nets won, because it was a close, fun game.
Mon Apr 24, 2006 9:54 am
Vince Carter kills them. Yeah, he's good sometimes, but someone's got to get it through to him that forcing shots isn't going to help his team win.
Wed Apr 26, 2006 8:02 am
Game 2 keys for a Nets' win:
1. VC, of course, must stop shooting rediculous treys and attack the paint. Keep to the line and put the pressure on the Indy defense.
2. RJ must have more shots, espicailly When Kidd out shot him.
3. Kidd must also wake up from his slump, and be the catalist for the fast break.
4. Collins must slow down JO, or atleast try to double team him as a team when he heats up.
5. We need to wake the crowd up right from the get go.
If we lose again.........bad things will happen
Wed Apr 26, 2006 11:36 am
Kidd tried a little 360 but missed, but top in his own missed.
