This is the ladder thus far:

36ers 6 5 1
Hawks 6 5 1
Kings 7 5 2
Wildcats 6 4 2
Breakers 6 3 3
Razorbacks 7 3 4
Tigers 8 3 5
Pirates 6 2 4
Bullets 9 3 6
Crocodiles 6 2 4
Taipans 7 2 5

The Breakers could be a surprise this season, while the teams from Queensland have been absolutely abysmal

Sun Oct 31, 2004 3:35 pm

Queensland's teams are in bottom three!

Hey- are the hawks woolongong... is that in NSW? Talk about bad geography skills!

Sun Oct 31, 2004 5:09 pm

yeah the Hawks are NSW. Damn thats gay how QLD teams are at bottom 3.

Sun Oct 31, 2004 5:15 pm

poor queenslanders... and NSW teams are 2nd and 3rd... i

s it Perth Wildcats? need to get it right

Sun Oct 31, 2004 5:31 pm

Yep Perth Wildcats

Sun Oct 31, 2004 6:00 pm

Where do u guys think the league will be in say 4-5 years... financially and talent-wise

Sun Oct 31, 2004 8:53 pm

hard to say but at the moment its looking better talent and financial wise since each team had an extra $36,000 to add towards their player salary caps.

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:09 pm

Australian Government needs to support the NBL...

anyways- I dont think our league will ever be that great cause if you think about it, NBA is recruiting the best talent and then after that is CBA and other American Leagues... then you have European Leagues... so our NBL would be prob about C or D grade league...

Financially, if our League could xpand and get FTA coverage maybe we'll get better cause Euro players might wanna play down under... and thats all about money.

- Maybe we should have aussie teams in an Asian Champions league as has been suggested before.

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:16 pm

maybe but the league has been expanding plus international sponsors are stepping in. I agree about the goverment part but aslong as howards in goverment all money for sports will go to don bradman foundations/memorials and cricket in general.

btw i mentioned this i think in another thread andy bougut is apparently gonna announce something big in a week or so.

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:19 pm

Hes entering the Dtaft... or hes gonna demand 40 mpg in college ball?

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:27 pm

I haven't been actually the exactly told what the announcement will be but but it seems nba related.

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:37 pm

it is probably if he is declaring eligitability... although I wouldnt mind him jumping in now... which is unlikely because of his college and the fact thta he would not get a guaranteed contract

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:41 pm

hes been offered alot of nba contracts ever since the world under 21-22 champs when Australia won it and he was named tournement MVP.

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:51 pm

I think he would get a better contract if he were in the Draft and in the lottery... 3/4 year guranteed contract would prob be better than any team he might play for... unless Bobcats would want him! :)

Well... we'll wait and see. Whered u get this news anyway?

Sun Oct 31, 2004 9:59 pm

Fuck Fuck Fuckity Fuck Fuck I just recived word that Terrace had an appeal about the game they lost to Churchie too because Churchie had too many younger guys on the team. What the fuck Terrace can't handle the fact they lost to a younger team let alone lose the GPS premiership......fucking sore losers.

Good to see the Bullets have another win during their 5th straight double header this season. Shame about rucker being injured hopefully he won't be out for too long (if it's possible ligiment damage).

Sat Nov 06, 2004 4:51 pm

wtf... players can play up if they want to! (in reference to churchie and terrace)

And I read in the paper how Bobby Brannen isnt happy about the refs...

Sat Nov 06, 2004 5:04 pm

haha bout the refs...wouldn't surprise me. I'll find out tomorrow the full story about the Gay-gory Tterrace thing

Sat Nov 06, 2004 9:24 pm
