If you have TD and KG flop teams, neither team gets better. Both teams live and die by their main man. This isn't Superstar #1 and Clone of Superstar #1. The two have two different games. Completely different games. The teammates, the coaches, they all have adjusted to their superstar. Pull a switcheroo and both teams will struggle to adjust to their new PF to start with. Maybe by the end of the season they'll be better than with their original superstar. And maybe not. Either way, it will take lots of time to develop the chemistry.

Hehe, it's a joke, man.

Any way, I think Duncan is better than KG. The reasons are already posted. :P

Or maybe it's you people who don't know how to read. Please read my previous posts. I DO NOT claim that KG is the better player. I said they're almost equal. Duncan has more accolades, but he is NOT WAAAAYYY BETTER than Garnett. Comprende?

okay, i didnt notice or i forgot i had noticed the "way batter" in your statements. I dont think duncan is way better, just better, and I think that is easily provable using the FACTS. All garnett has is ifs, ifs, ifs and more ifs, like I said, whenever someone bases their argument on the primary statement "if", it is fairly obvious that they have no evidence, and that their whole argument is based on the fact that they think so and so is better or different than said player because they personally like him better and not because he actually is.

tell me how the big 3 does not define a great player, or one player with it not better than another without. Anyone who has the big 3 in my mind, without a doubt, is a better player than anyone who hasnt. Not neccesarrily in stats, because stats dont mean everything, but in everything and in how he plays the game to make his team succesful.

garnett may be better all around, but that doesnt neccesarrily mean better overall. lamar odom is better all around then shaq.... does that mean he's better overall?

Kg is a better rebounder.
Kg is a better leader.
Kg is a better handling.
Kg is a better defender.
Kg has a better work ethic.
Kg has a better complete game.

KG can dominate the paint easier than Duncan can dominate the outside game. We all know KG is more complete. I'd take the complete player with more desire than a dominate player with a good work ethic.

just my opinon though.

Kg is a better leader.

2 mvps > 1 mvp.

Kg is a better handling.

He's a better handling? Ehm, ok. He's a better handling.

Kg is a better defender.

Better? Can't say, versatile? Yes. Stop Shaq? No, Duncan stop Shaq? Yes.

Kg has a better work ethic.

Says a KG fan? TD has better fundamentals, his work ethic should be better.

Kg has a better complete game.

TD can hit the three when needed, TD can hit the 20 footer when needed. TD can hit a shot over Shaq when needed. KG is more versatile, yes..but better? No, not yet.

KG can dominate the paint easier than Duncan can dominate the outside game. We all know KG is more complete. I'd take the complete player with more desire than a dominate player with a good work ethic.

Duncan can make a shot whenever needed, but he's smart. He'd rather dominate inside by getting a higher FG% than take a fall-away jumper. KG is more versatile. I'd take the more dominant player who's pretty difficult to stop, doesn't have heart? Say what the fuck?! Near quadruple double vs Nets isn't heart? Biased KG fan. :scold:

Didn't KG have a better work ethic just now?

TD>KG. Facts prove it, you can't persuade me to think otherwise. I've shut you down numerous times.

We're not saying he's way better, but he's still better.

He seems to refuse to accept that fact though, just blurts out some nonsense to which I post & prove otherwise, he goes quiet. After another few posts, he'll come back and say KG>TD. What a great discussion.

Uh, actually if you read my posts above. KG's rebounding stats aren't right because he doesn't get as many offensive rebounds. Flip's system doesn't call for crashing of the offensive boards. KG is one of the best defensive rebounders of all time, says some experts.

KG has beat Duncan in defensive rebounds the past 3 years.

Duncan can hit the 3? He has a career 3pt% of .182

KG hits .303

Now, that doesn't mean he's better but there are some other stats. KG has lead the league in effiency the last two years they started keeping track of it.

KG's career spg-1.40
Duncan's-.80

KG's bpg were higher last year when he started patrolling the paint more.

KG has had more apg then duncan every year besides KG's rookie year.

KG has less fouls per game, 2.50 to 2.80. What does that show? I don't know, but Duncan is suppose to get more calls than KG...right? Does this mean Duncan plays less smart on defense? Duncan plays more paint defense? Maybe.

But about that apg. Duncan has had better teammates than KG every year besides last year, we all should agree on that. Yet, KG gets moer APG and has higher Efficiency rating. You said Duncan wins more games than KG when he's on the court and KG only lead the league in efficiency one year. But I have a link on NBA.com that proves he lead the league the first years they started taking track of this stat. So there goes that argument.

KG has higher defensive rebounds per game, duncan has higher offensive rebuonds per game. But KG's lack of offensive rebounds translate into the system Flip Saunders runs, not Kevin Garnett's skill. Duncan plays in the paint on offense and defense so there shouldn't be any excuses right?

So basically, KG does more on the court in his time, makes his teammates better, better defensive rebounder, more steals, little less PPG (besides last year), more verstile and less foul prone.

Is that good enough for you jackal?

Kg is a better leader.

I disagree. You can argue KG shows emotion, passion, anger, frustration, excitement, and that TD is a calm, stoid dude, but that doesn't mean KG is the better leader. It's hard to measure whose the better leader but TD has become more vocal over the seasons.

Kg is a better defender.

Have to agree with Jackal here. KG is the more versatile defender, but not better necessarily. I believe they're pretty even.

Kg has a better work ethic.

Disagree. Again, hard to measure. Both are hard workers. I don't think it's fair to say either has a better work ethic because you're not in the locker room, you're not in the gym, you're not in their lives and neither am I or Jackal or any other poster. This isn't as clear cut and dry as KG vs Juwan Howard. Stats don't prove work ethic either (for both sides). They prove improvement in game. Doesn't mean player X worked harder than Player Z. Maybe Player X had a better coach. Or had more chances to pad stats. Or had one small thing to fix.

Man Riot, take a chill from NLSC . I need to refresh next time before I hit "New Reply", forget about the window for 15 minutes, then reply.

Steals and blocks are a terrible indicator of defensive ability.

That's hardly a difference.

One could argue TD, instead of grabbing more rebounds, is doing more boxing out, allowing his teammates to grab the boards.
