Damn, if/when everyone is healthy, the bench is just crazy:

Fish/Farmar
KB24/Ariza/Sasha
LO/Luke/Coby
Gasol/Turiaf/Radmanovic
Bynum/Kwame/Mihm

 :D

Mon Feb 04, 2008 3:07 pm

^^^ Kwame plays for Grizzlies now.

I think the rotation might look more like this.

Fish/Farmar
KB24/Sasha/Coby
LO/Luke/Ariza
Gasol/Radmanovic/Turiaf
Bynum/Mihm/Mbenga

where Coby Karl and Mbenga I think are the most likely to be on the inactive list come playoff time.

is kwame really getting waived and resigned by lakers?

Mon Feb 04, 2008 7:26 pm

that's a big no.

lineup will be more like:

Bynum/Turiaf/Mihm/Mbenga
Gasol/Radmanovic/Turiaf
Odom/Walton/Ariza
Bryant/Sasha/Karl
Fisher/Farmar

Looking at that lineup, I think the Lakers should make another deal....maybe not this season, but in offseason....I think Radmanovic seems like the odd one out....the way I see it is, if healthy, Bynum, Gasol & Turiaf share 96 minutes between them....Odom will also swing to PF at times....therefore, Radmanovic at PF/SF is now redundant unless you use him as a situation player & it seems like a lot of money to be paying for that....the only situation I can envision with Radmanovic still being key part of this team is if they trade Odom, then you have Walton/Ariza/Radmanovic sharing SF duties, with Rado also able to slide to PF at times....I don't know what Lakers will want to do with Odom....it might depend on how the Lakers go in playoffs (I'm guessing, at best, a 2nd round loser)....guards, Fisher is slowly gaining age, so a project 3rd PG might be handy....Crittenden was suppose to be that guy, but I'm sure they can get someone, possibly through draft or wherever....

but yeah, overall the Lakers are looking good for future....I don't think they'll set the world on fire this season, but this trade allows them to move towards becoming an elite team in the West....

Well, the key for them seems to be defensive adjustment. No question they'll be one of the best rebounding teams (as they already are without Gasol) and also one of the best in scoring (same here) with that big frontline (I'm happy to see Lamar back on SF - fits best for his playing style). By the way they won't have that free-throw problem they had in the old shaq-kobe times when many a game was in danger with shaq at the line (Bynum FT% 0.695 / Gasol FT% 0.819).

I'm really exited to see how they come up on the defensive end. Gasol isn't known for his hard defense. I think Phil Jackson will have to work on that during the rest of the season to make them a real title contender in post-season.

Memphis must be getting considerable compensation from David Stern and the NBA for helping to orchestrate a Lakers-Celtics finals matchup.

Tue Feb 05, 2008 3:58 am

the city of boston is cursed again, the celtics will be up on the pistons 3-0 then garnett will run into pierce and as they fall they both land on allen and all 3 end up with broken bones. just watch it will happen

Don't be so pessimistic Sauru...

That's probably true. :shake:

Being a big Laker hater (I don't know if Jackal remembers the Spurs-Lakers playoff thread sometime in 2004 in dotorg's forums), reading the news about Gasol being traded made me :shake:. [sarcasm]I mean, the Lakers love Kwame Brown. Why was he traded anyway? He could be the next Kareem or Wilt.[/sarcasm]

Tue Feb 05, 2008 11:23 am

Actually I don't. I'm guessing I called you a bunch of mean names.

Right?

Tue Feb 05, 2008 11:40 am

i'm not sure who pissed more- Bulls fans or the top Western Conference teams

Navarro must be pissed right now

not too worry. the Grizz and lakers play in the same conference so they are bound to bump into each other. plus factor in Memphis has west coast road trip/slakers have a east coast trips ;)

Gasol didn't even force a trade Vince Carter/Baron Davis style yet GM Chris Wallace successfully traded an all star player for zero starters. Congrats

Meh, that was years ago. You were using the Mr. Bean avatar and you still have "Psycho" as your first name.

Grizzlies new starting line-up.

C: Gay
PF: Lowry
SF: Crittenton
SG: Navarro
PG: Conley

Yep. This trade really makes a lot of sense.

Tue Feb 05, 2008 12:08 pm

Looks like some of the Bucks bench rotation units.

Tue Feb 05, 2008 12:51 pm

The trade did no good to the Grizzlies.

Tue Feb 05, 2008 12:59 pm

The Grizzles will probably be the only team to go 0-whatever the rest of the way and not have to tank. Oh well, at least they have Darko.

Tue Feb 05, 2008 1:45 pm

Also, they have Jason Collins. (Y)

Too bad the grizzlies traded swift, or they could have had the worst 1st pick (brown), 2nd pick (swift) and 3rd pick (Milicic) of the decade playing on one team.

If I was Mike Miller, I'd want a trade or too... :D

Actually, Darko was drafted 2nd overall. :)

Yeah, the last thing they need to do is to trade Miller.

Yeah, my bad... still those 3 are the worst players picked in the top 3 of this decade... Still, you should not fault me for thinking Melo was chosen ahead of Darko.... hahaha

Hell, Mike Miller and Gay can take this opportunity to step up their game with more touches.

Who do you think is going to start at center, Kwame Brown or Darko Milicic?
