Mike James is sick.

Mon Dec 05, 2005 7:29 am

He has the flu or something?

Mon Dec 05, 2005 7:52 am

Back problems, not the flu.

Cloudy wrote:As a Rockets fan, can you please return James back to us? :x

That trade really hurt the Rockets. James was a good scorer and with T-Mac hurt, the Rockets are really struggling in that area.

LMAO sick as in good, I hope you people were being sarcastic.

Is Everybody happy with the drafting of Charlie V and Golden Grahm if not how would of you guys drafted? just curious i maybe would of took Channing Frye over Charlie but it seems hes somewhat adjusting its a process definatly.

If I were a Raptor fan with hindsight my picks would've gone like this (depending on who was available in real life at the time):

7: Charlie Villanueva
16: Danny Granger

Sat Dec 10, 2005 3:07 pm

Frye didn't wanna play for Toronto, and i got no respect for players like that especially if you are a rookie. Players have too much control these days. And obviously the raps didn't want a rookie who didn't want to play for their team. Charlie was a great choice. He like toronto. As for Graham, just give him some time, he's time will come, and when that day comes,

Sat Dec 10, 2005 3:11 pm

i had no idea channing did that, they should be happy they are playing period and try to make a name for themselves by doing the right thing, i believe Danny Granger would of been a good choice but i like Joey Grahm's work ethic he's willing to learn.

BOSH STILL PONDERING: Chris Bosh's agent says Bosh is closely monitoring the Raptors' situation as he evaluates whether he wants to sign a contract extension this summer or ultimately move to a new club.

"I don't think anything can be viewed as definitive right now," the agent, Henry Thomas, said in a interview.

It's been suggested Bosh could make more endorsement money in a big market in the U.S. Thomas said his client has deals in Toronto and is weighing new opportunities. "He's extremely popular up there," he said. "But it's not L.A., it's not Chicago, it's not New York."

i found this while reading the raptors forum on realgm. its about the raptors 1999-2000 season, the first season they ever made the playoffs. it wasnt their best season (their best was the one afterwards i think, the one where they made it past the knicks and lost to the sixers in game 7). Notice the swagger, toughness and hustle this team had. they didnt care who it was, they still talked trash to the stars of the other team. great moments from that clip, shaq being blocked by someone (couldnt tell who it was), the alvin williams last second shot-clock 3-pointer, the whole bunch of last second game winning shots. This is what kind of attitude we need right now, that intensity, everyone wanting to win and not giving half-assed efforts. (still cant let go of that with tmac and vince with a fairly good veteran supporting cast, where we would be right now).

ps. that vid nearly made me have a tear in my eye, the good old days, when we did well.

The thing about teh Raptors back then are that they could finish a play and they could finish it STRONG, with dunks and good moves and good shot selection, and the team wasn't made of young players like the Raptors of today.

Tue Dec 27, 2005 5:00 pm

ahhhhhh, those were the days. I remember the first few years Vince's career, he had a lot of buzzer beaters. Some he just finished the game with a dunk, 3 pointers, and some off balanced shot. They were amazing. Then the injury started. But those were the good days. We'll be back...

Wed Dec 28, 2005 1:09 am

We're going to go on a 40 game winning streak and make the playoffs, that's for sure.

Thu Dec 29, 2005 12:34 pm

Toronto beat the Hawks today. Booya. Our second win at home!

Thu Dec 29, 2005 12:39 pm

How is Toronto not a big market for Chris Bosh? It might not be *as* big as New York, but it's one of the largest cities in the world. Also, there is only one team in Canada so that's an entire country worth of endorsements, etc.

Perhaps it makes too much sense to be logical.... :?

Thu Dec 29, 2005 12:55 pm

Damn, I missed teh game.

Canada deserves another franchise, I mean it was created by a Canadian and Canada deserves atleast 2-3 teams.

Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:21 pm

good game from peterson, on the night he passed alvin williams for most game as a raptor (Y)

I don't know if Bosh is ready to be the marketable guy. It worked very well when Vince Carter was around, especially in 2000.

I agree, but I don't think it would be able to sustain itself. Look at what happened with Vancouver. A side note, there's like twice as many American hockey teams as there are Canadian teams, and we're a hockey country :?

Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:51 pm

Yeah, Bosh doesn't have that aura of excitement that a big name like Carter can generate. Bosh is more a player that just gets the job done on a nightly basis kind of guy.

Fri Dec 30, 2005 6:13 am

Lol seriously, I mean if the Rapotrs of today play like that (in the video) the ACC will be sold out every game.

i 100% agree with you. and also with hipn, acc would deffinately be sold out almost every game, every loss would also be still somewhat satisfying knowing we gave it our all.

Fri Dec 30, 2005 5:28 pm

Fuck, we had a championship team in the making. Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Antonio Davis, Charles Oakley, Doug Christie, Dell Curry, Kevin Willis, Dee Brown, and even freaking Muggsy Bogues. Well, it doesn't sound too hot overall, but emphasis on Carter and McGrady.
