Thats incredible!

You were wrong about something?!?!

Against my regular judgment I'm going to respond to this point as if he was a decent poster.

You were wrong to predict Miami and Phoenix because defense always overrules offense. A team like Phoenix can't keep up with the Spurs because San Antonio is such a good fundementally sound team, when you look at their roster they don't have a ton of guys competing to try and become "the man". You have guys like Nazr Mohammad, Bruce Bowen, Brent Barry, guys that play a role to help out Duncan, TP and Manu. A team like Phoenix could never win a championship because other then Joe Johnson and Jimmy Jackson, there are no role players. Guys like Amare, Matrix and Q can be stopped by a good defense and their unwilling to change their style.

Sun May 29, 2005 1:07 am

Although is sad to say.......i dun see Q is contributing.
But one thing i see is the spurs still have no answer for Amare.
I hope the Suns will make a come back to win over the series (Y)

Sun May 29, 2005 12:50 pm

Wow I'm gonna go on record as saying this is the biggest choke in sports history! Amare is the only guy on this team that is playing!

Even the coach is choking!!!

Sorry for all the !!!!s but really I expected more.

Sun May 29, 2005 1:39 pm

hmm can i smell 4-0??
All the Phoenix Suns Fans better hope the Suns can pull off a Boston Red Sox...come back from 3-0 from against a team that looks like they going to win the championship.

Sun May 29, 2005 1:39 pm

anybody notice the lineup S A has on the floor right now?

Duncan , Barry, Bowen, Ginobili, & Parker

been like that for a large part of the last few minutes of the fourth

Sun May 29, 2005 1:42 pm

spurs go up 3-0. this series is over.

Sun May 29, 2005 1:43 pm

fuck fuck fuckety fuck fuck.

excuse the language, but FUCK!. at least Joe Johnson had a good game in his return. Steve Nash has his first bad game of the play offs, suns are pretty much gone now. suns down 8 with 20-something remaining in the forth. still, a strong effort to get this close after being behind 20 at the start of the 4th. q-rich just missed a three. its over.

big changes needed in the offseason. but bill walton made an interesting comment. he said that they cant sign anyone due to nash and richardsons big contracts. so now they will have to trade, and the only decent players on the bench are Barbosa and the old turd jim jackson.

suns need: a banging pure defensive center, like marcus camby. some pure defenders. and a decent BENCH!.

props to nash, and d'antoni. i respect them both. despite the big deficit, neither lost there temper, and they are always eager to please the reporters and stuff, despite the losses. good job to them both, and good luck next year PHX.

Sun May 29, 2005 1:44 pm

What the hell is wrong with Bill Walton??

"Oh he got raped right there" to Tony Parker

well actually he was correct, he was blantantly fouled and there was no call. Ref blew a few down the stretch. Thus the lost of a 20 point lead.

Sun May 29, 2005 1:48 pm

It was a choke plain and simple. Suns choked this game away and they are not coming back.

Sun May 29, 2005 2:01 pm

The Spurs are playing at a level I have not seen them play before against the Suns. They are playing at a very high level right now.

Sun May 29, 2005 2:02 pm

SWEEP!!!! :headbang: :applaud:

championship level?

Sun May 29, 2005 2:25 pm

I can see it now "The Sun has set in Phoenix"

Sun May 29, 2005 2:39 pm

The Suns are cooked.

The Spurs are going to win it all.

Sun May 29, 2005 3:27 pm

arghh...

Amare is playing on offence, but he may be the worst defensive player I've ever seen. I can understand if, like Nash, it was a physical thing. But he just doesn't seem to know where to be and when. None of the Phoenix big men do anything. When Steven Hunter is the best answer you have for Duncan you're in trouble.

I was however glad to see Amare try and take it into his own hands. He was really smoking Duncan other than that one baseline block TD had. Joe Johnson played great, just like I expected. When I told people I wanted a Suns jersey they said "Nash? Amare?" and I said "Johnson" they were shocked. I'm sure other peple saw it to, but he is the most well-rounded player on the team. And kudos to Quentin for taking the ball to the hole, that was a welcome sight. I'd like to seem him get plopped in the post next game for a bit. There's no way that Bowen/Ginobili/Barry can cover him in the post.

Sun May 29, 2005 3:36 pm

I watched most of this game, and it seems to be that the Suns just don't understand what's happening to them. They haven't chanegd their game one bit, even though they are being stopped over and over. Marion has been a ghost in this series, and the Suns just look lost on defense. Nash is doing what he can, but after 5000 pick and rolls on him, doesn't the rest of the team see that coming and decide maybe they should react to it? Amare and Marion are fast enough that they should be able to rotate before the Spurs can exploit them.

Sun May 29, 2005 4:29 pm

I think they're just out of steam, mentally. They sprinted the first 3/4 of a marathon and now they've completely lost it, and they're seeing the steady runners pass them up.

There's a reason why championship teams slack it during the regular season. Detroit did it, Lakers did it, Bulls did it.

It's kind of scary that potentially the toughest opponents the Spurs had on their way to the Finals was Seattle =/

Phoenix should not have cap isues. They have the 5th lowest payroll in the NBA and it goes up only $300k next year. They are more likely than anyone to land a big free agent, considering their popularity + payroll situation. Q-Rich barely makes more than MLE, he's $6.3M next year.

They need to resign JJ, but that will balance out by losing Eisley's contract ($7M per year). The money problem won't hit til they resign Amare in 2007.

What they need is another genuine big man. Abusing Marion as a ghetto PF worked in the regular season but he was totally stopped against the Spurs. Get him back to his natural SF spot, let Q & JJ share the SG spot.

Sun May 29, 2005 5:18 pm

The problem with the suns is 1 main thing-
"The Disappearance of Shawn Marion"
3.....points game 1 (38min)
11.. points game 2 (44min)
6.....points game 3 (33min)
thats a grand total of 20 points in a total of 115minutes.
Wasn't he a NBA All-Star??

For game 4 they should have a line up of
C- Steven Hunter
PF- Amare Stoudamire
SF- Shawn Marion --> Q. Rich off the Bench
SG- Joe Johnson --> Jim jackson off the bench
PG- Steve Nash -- Jiim/ Joe

its worth a try, just putting shawn in his natural position and same with amare.

Sun May 29, 2005 5:19 pm

Damn....there'll be a comeback.....dun act like a champ now Spurs...watchout!
I can't believe the way the Suns play in the 2nd quarter in game 3....i think that are the worst performance so far.
They are goin down

Sun May 29, 2005 5:26 pm

It's time for Paul Shirley to put his cape on and rescue Phoenix...go Paul!

Paul's ankle lock has Tim Duncan written all over it.

Sun May 29, 2005 10:15 pm

well.. Suns is a new team to the conference final..
but Spurs had been there several times.. they were the champions 2 years ago.
so it's not a surprise that Suns lost.
But Spurs is amazing, they can play at a fast and slow pace.
i thought Tony Parker got better and better, whereas, he didn't seem to play well during the season.

yeah, but their overall level in game 3 is probably (IMO) better than past championships Spurs teams, and that's scary. GO SPURS GO

P.S. a line up of Hunter, Amare', Marion, JJ, Nash

will be murdered in the half court against the Spurs line up of
Mohammed, Duncan, Bowen, Ginobili, Parker

Suns run for a reason, because they can't play a half court game. Try that crap llineup against the Spurs in game 4 and I'll personally sweep the floor with them.
