Are you KIDDING me... I thought the series was over with Detroit up 5 but Miller makes another miracle 3, now Indiana still has hope...

Fri May 20, 2005 12:50 pm

Ben Wallace blocks Reggies 3 hahah.

Pistons win, Reggie misses some late 3's. Great game for him though, shot the lights out but so did Hamilton.

Bring on the Heat, btw my 4-2 prediction stands.

Indiana's season officially ends against the team it unofficially ended against in Nov.

Fri May 20, 2005 12:52 pm

Good job Pistons, I don't like Pacers and Reggie anyways!!!Bring it on Miami!

Fri May 20, 2005 12:53 pm

Yup, finally the Pistons and Heat can battle it out... This series could be better than the NBA Finals - definitely can't wait.

It's really sad to see Reggie go, and it was great to see Larry Brown show some major class and call a timeout to give him an ovation at the end of the game. He will be forever remembered, but it's now time to move on for the Champs!

Fri May 20, 2005 12:56 pm

I'm still in denial... Reggie Miller, big ups to you.

One more year, one more year...

Fri May 20, 2005 12:58 pm

Man.. what a way to end.. Ben Wallace just barely got his 3.. then theres the classy move to call a timeout to applaud Reggie.. he got tears in his eyes.. I almost did too.. Reggie was one of the first guys I saw play when I was little, and I'll be remembering him for awhile.

I cant stop crying.

Its sad that he is retiring, even though I don't like him. I hope the Pacers will get a great player like him in the draft!

Fuck that shit. Hes a one of a kind and he is my favorite person that has ever stepped foot on a basketball court.

Im sorry... im gonna be a bit emotional and snappy for the next few days or so... i hope you all understand.

Fri May 20, 2005 1:17 pm

Even though he got blocked he still made big shots. I seriously thought the Pacers were done when they were down 5 or 6 and then Miller seemingly forces up a 3 from the top of the arc and it swishes.. then later on when Ben Wallace blocked that shot I thought he just single handedly defied the laws of destiny..

Fri May 20, 2005 1:19 pm

We understand, its definitely tough to lose a player
who brought your hometown so many championshi...ohhh.....
that took them to them NBA fina...ohh...
that won several MVP awar....ohhh...
that was in the top 10 all time in poin...ohh...
that was in the top 25 all time in three point percenta...ohhh....
that didnt have abnormal sized ears...ohh...
ummm...at least he guest starred on 'Hangin with Mr. Cooper' (Y)

Kevin, I have never read anything as stupid as that. Do I really need to rebut what he just wrote?

I don't think so, and yes he did bring us to the finals in 2000.

Fri May 20, 2005 1:36 pm

I saw the last few minutes of the game, and it was a very classy move by Larry Brown and it was a very emotional moment for Reggie and his fans. Reggie was my first favorite NBA player, and I still have his jersey which is too small for me now, of course. It was sad to see him go, but he went out with great memories and honor.

Fri May 20, 2005 1:38 pm

darn i was buying chinese food in reggie's last 10min of nba basketball.
oh well pacers had a great year, but ended like i thought it would, 4-2

It was also interesting to note he is only 1 of 2 people to retire staying with 1 team.
Other being John Stockton (Y)

reggie miller for life!!!!
as a friend of mine said, there is still life after reggie's retirement! he'll still be around...
thanks for the great memories Reggie!!!

Fri May 20, 2005 1:41 pm

i hope he gets some position in the Pacer's organization cause he deserves it. kinda like Joe Dumars with the Pistons

I don't know if IndyPacers feels the same way...

Edit: Btw, any reason why Reggie grew facial hair for his last game? He usually has it clean cut.

You mean the year that Jalen Rose lead them in points, steals and assists, Chris Mullin lead them in 3p% and Dale Davis lead them in everything defensively. Actually, the last time he lead them in anything other than ft% it was the strike shortened year in 98.

And come on, try to 'rebut' it, it'll be fun. Nothing personal, just a good debate.

Interesting note: Reggie's never been on an All NBA First team.

Fri May 20, 2005 1:55 pm

this song "Forever" that was sung by Damage makes me relate to Reggie's retirement

"I'll be loving you forever
Deep inside my heart you'll leave me never
Even if you took my heart and tore it apart -> (he never won a championship for us pacers fans)
I would love you still forever"

No Kevin, Im not going to argue with you about what Reggie Miller means to me. He is a special special person, and a Pacers fan could never understand.

Right now I'm going to go to bed. I'm not going to go to school tomorrow, I'm going to sleep. My girlfriend is coming over, and I'm glad about that, because I need a shoulder to cry on.

Fri May 20, 2005 2:06 pm

goodbye reggie miller, the 2nd nba player I knew. I ask my step dad he was, and he told me he smokes. :D

Fri May 20, 2005 2:07 pm

I'm not arguing with what he means to you. I undertsand that he was 'your guy' for may years and im sure you will miss him. I just think he's overrated and I didn't agree when you said he was one of a kind.

Fri May 20, 2005 2:10 pm

Another Legend left without a Championship ring..
:x

There's been more than two. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson are two more, Bill Russell is another.

There could have been a better "storybook" finish, but as it stands Reggie left the game in a pretty good way, 27 points on 11/16 shooting, 4/8 from downtown. It's obvious that he can still play the game at a high level and he didn't go quietly into the night. A rival of the Bulls he may have been, but I've got a 90s sensibility so it's sad to see him go.

Fri May 20, 2005 2:41 pm

Nothing I can say will sum up my feelings. It's kind of like asking Reggie himself what it feels like to hear the standing ovation, words can't describe it. All I can say is thx, these last 10 years following the Pacers are something I will never forget and watching basketball will just never be the same without him. It may sound wierd to some, although maybe not people around here since we all are pretty attached to our basketball but I think a lot of people who follow the Nba just lost a hero, a friend and there inspiration, I know I certainly did.

As for Kevin, just because you know some people will be emotinally over the loss there is no need to come in here and bash him like that and rub it in our faces. Nobody here is claiming he was the greatest of all time, so just stfu and let people celebrate his career rather than act like a dick.
