Mavs to Sign Eddie Jones
Well last year, when Jones was a FA,the Mavs failed to sign him.EJ went to the Heat. But this year he'll go to the Mavs.Interesting to see how he plays there.Well they losed Croshere but still acquiring EJ is nice.

Very good move for the Mavs, who needed another old-school Finley-like player and not a player like Croshere or Van Horn. He'll bring experience and toughness, and you'll see some crucial shots made by him this year.

I was hoping he would finish his career in Miami and get a ring this year.

If you start one more topic about a signing and then change it to a "hub", I will put my hands through internet and take out your intestines and eat them in front of innocent, uncorrupted babies.

He can defend, score when needed and he seems to have transitioned smoothly into a smaller role as a veteran backup. A team like the Mavericks seems like a good fit.

I dont think eddie will do much in dallas... josh howard will be a monster though... if he grows balls and plays like the EJ of old he may help them when dirk and the rest of the starting line up is tired... just my 5cents

When dirk is tired? Dont you mean when dirk chokes and passes the ball in clutch situations.

Dallas is trying to do what Miami did and load their team full of stars. Dirk, Howard, Terry, Stack, Jones, Harris, ...it really doesnt matter. They wont be able to beat the suns or spurs in a 7 game series. They still dont have that player that can dominate in the last 5 minutes of the game.

-Young Buck-, Dallas was in the finals last year if you don't remember clearly, and they won the first 2 games of that series. So Dallas is definitely a contender in the west. And in no way are they trying to stack their team with stars, they are all role players with the exception of Dirk and maybe Terry. Dirk can dominate the last 5 minutes of a game as can any other of the players you named.

Dirk and Josh Howard are the stars. Terry is close to what you call a "star" but not much. The rest are all basically role players, not stars.

And the Mavs beat them both during the run to the Finals', and the series win over the Spurs was a rare burst of Dirk clutch-ness. Don't forget that Game 5 was a close call there too. So Dallas showed they CAN beat the Spurs as long as they can answer Tim Duncan. The accusation of no longer being a contender is laughable even when it isn't biased.

1. the mavs didnt make the finals last year
2. dirk cant dominate the last 5 minutes otherwise they would have beaten golden state last season and took out miami in the finals the previous season
3. fully agree, this is a team of solid role players, not stars outside of dirk and terry.

I'm pretty sure the Mavs were in the 2006 NBA Finals unless I'm going crazy.

Wait, the Heat lose Eddie Jones and get Smush Parker and now you think that since they are free of Eddie they can win another ring?
