Most likeable players?

Postby EGarrett on Thu Mar 23, 2006 3:57 am

Wow, did you know "likeable" is like the word "gray" in that there are two accepted spellings?

Wow, did you know "likable" is like the word "grey" in that there are two accepted spellings?

Anyway, who do you think is the most charismatic and likeable player in the NBA? And why?

Yao Ming
Lebron James
Dwyane Wade
Jason Kidd
Steve Nash
Or someone else?

I'm sure Johny Stockton was at his time. Now, I guess, there's no such player. You'll always find Kobe/Bron/KG/TD haters. As most likeable, maybe, Amare? Bosh?

Funny enough I dont like Wade as much as I did as before he was with Shaq. Now I think he is a tad too cocky.

wtf are you talking about... this is personality, not how much you like their game.

And for me, aside from the obvious one's already said... I would pick Eric Snow and Zo.

Dwight Howard seems like a very down to earth person.

Nate Robinson is very likeable. Some might not agree that this applies to his game thought.

Manu Ginobili & Dwayne Wade for their willingness/no fear attitude of driving into the lane. Plus they both have a flare for the dramatic

Ron Artest for his defensive prowess and overall hustle & effort

Ben Gordon for the having the nuts to take/make big shots even if going into the 4th qtr he's shooting 2-10

Elton Brand, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett for being consummate professionals. it seems like every game these guys are giving their all

and Yao Ming cuz he's asian

i like damon jones, just for the sake of comic relief. at the same time though, he's also the one that pisses me off the most when he's cold and doing jack shit.

[Bryant fan] Kobe Bryant, for his unmatchable skills, the fact he's going pretty much nowhere for awhile, his swagger, his determination, his ability to fuck white ugly white women when having a nice little cow girl at home & showing the amount of love he holds for her by buying her a large ass diamond & putting on a hideous tattoo. [/Bryant fan.]

On a more serious note, most likeable player for me right now is Tim Duncan, quiet, does his thing quietly, said to be very funny amongst regulars (team mates, coaches, anyone close) and not cocky.

Amare's also a big favorite right after Shaq. :D

a few Dukies are likeable in Elton Brand, Shane Battier & Grant Hill....
token white guys are likeable like Luke Walton, Paul Shirley & Sean Marks....
most Suns' players are likeable, guess it has to be the style of play or something....
young players are likeable until their egos get the better of them....

Maybe you don't know what charisma means? I doubt the thread creator intended this to be a "who is your favorite player" thread... firstly, most of us already know who is each other's favorite(s), and it is also posted in the "Get to know each other" thread.

I know there's Bulls bias involved, but Ben Gordon comes across as being quite likeable. I admire his professionalism and the way he accepts his role no matter how Skiles wants to use him. Sad state of affairs when the coach's mouth runs more than the player's.

Artest and Marion for diving after every loose ball.

Steve Nash, for representing us Canadians. Oh, and he plays basketball too.

Yao Ming, cause my dad will never think he's any good, no matter what.

And Tracy McGrady, for getting back spasms whenever anything important happens.
