I hate that lineup. WHO THE HELL IS GONNA PLAY CENTER?! BRAD MILLER?! He's the only true center on there. This is almost laughable.

That's the list of players, also Dwigth Howard can easily play C, and who were you expecting to play C? Shaq?

Euro teams, aren't really known for their banger C's, and the teams that have banger C's usually don't have very good ones. Even if they do, their something called changing matchups.

C - Brad Miller (Pretty much a given, since he's th eonly true Center on the invitees list.)

PF - Elton Brand (Big, strong PF, and his size is not an issue in International ball)

SF - Shawn Marion ( He'll flat out kill the competition. Much like in Athens, when he was the team's best player)

SG - Gilbert Arenas ( No problem playing the 2 guard in International competitions. Plus, he'll be teh team's go-to guy, that is for sure)

PG - Chris Paul ( Wil linitiate the fast break enviously and will have no me-first issues. A true PG)

Bench:

6 - Chris Bosh (Will share time with Miller and Brand in the paint. He could start in either PF or C)

7 - Shane Battier ( The necessary defensive specialist. He's a jack of all trades who can play 2, 3 and 4.)

8 - Josh Howard (Another rising star who can do everything on the court.)

9 - Michael Redd ( True shooters are a must. He will see significant time and will play the 2 when Gilbert moves to the point)

10 - Dwight Howard ( A beast on the block, no team will be able to match his energy and athleticism)

11 - Luke Ridnour ( The team needs a second pure point guard. And he can shoot, too.)

12 - Joe Johnson ( Another versatile player who can shoot. Can play everywhere from 1 to 3)

I pick

Chauncey Billups, Detroit
Chris Paul, NO/Okla. City

Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
Dwyane Wade, Miami
Michael Redd, Milwaukee

Bruce Bowen, San Antonio
LeBron James, Cleveland

Dwight Howard, Orlando
Shawn Marion, Phoenix
Elton Brand, L.A. Clippers

Brad Miller, Sacramento
Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix

There are enough clutch players (Kobe, Wade, Billups), one true shooter (Redd) and few decent ones (Kobe, Lebron, Chauncey), enough players that don't mind to distribute the ball (Chauncey, Paul, LeBron, Wade, Miller), enough power players (LeBron, Dwight, Brand, Amare) and quite a few of very good defenders (Bryant, Bowen, Howard, Marion, Brand, Amare)..anything missing?

Oh, starting five:
Brad
Brand
LeBron
Kobe
Billups

Well, these are my picks anyway...

Shane Battier, Memphis
Chauncey Billups, Detroit
Chris Bosh, Toronto
Bruce Bowen, San Antonio
Elton Brand, L.A. Clippers
Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
Dwight Howard, Orlando
Josh Howard, Dallas
LeBron James, Cleveland
Brad Miller, Sacramento
Chris Paul, NO/Okla. City
Michael Redd, Milwaukee
Luke Ridnour, Seattle
Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix
Dwyane Wade, Miami

^^ That's gonna be my bet on the Final 15

And for the World Championships this Summer:

C Howard - Miller
F Brand - Bosh
F James - Bowen - Battier
G Bryant - Redd
G Wade - Paul - Billups

I'm not sure if Stoudamire would be at 100% by then.. he's missed a lot of action this season but if he is in form, I'd take Chris Paul off to put Amare in.

I don't like Wade at PG, he's not really a PG by any means. I want Wade on the team, but it might be quite redundant to have him, Lebron, and Kobe all on the team.

I'd choose between 2 teams:

PG: Billups | Paul | Arenas
SG: Bryant | Wade | Redd/Johnson
SF: Lebron | Marion
PF: Brand | Bosh
C: Amare | Miller

or

PG: Billups | Paul
SG: Kobe | Arenas | Redd/Johnson
SF: Battier | Lebron | Marion
PF: Brand | Bosh
C: Amare | Miller
CP3 | Brand | Arenas | Calderon
Raptors | Wizards | Clippers

Shaq can still dominate... You could have stuck Camby on there, Since Yao will be with China. You need a true Center, and let the other 4 take care of scooring.

Pistons as Olympic Team

- Do you guys agree?

The thin gthat ticked me off was when the guy wrote: Bronze medals and sixth place finishes are not the ideal for USA Basketball. Gold medals are.

It sounds very american...

Nope, can't say I agree with him.

The article wrote:All that said — Tayshaun Prince is an NBA All Star.

No, he's not. Rasheed Wallace was pushing it.

It's the same line of thinking that the Detroit Pistons - top to bottom - could have competed successfully against the Western All-Stars. Sure, four Pistons worked in a second half run but for 48 minutes? This isn't the ABA in 1976. There's no need for that to happen.

As I've said before, the way the original Dream Team blasted the competition in 1992 is proof that the idea is perfectly feasible. Find the right mix and a coach who can utilise the talent and it can work again. I know he's only suggesting the Pistons' starting five, but that's not necessary. But since Billups is on the shortlist, I'd place him on the final roster.

Despite the obvious talent gap between the 92 team and teh 06 team, the original Team won so easily partly becuse every opponent was thinking more about getting autographs for their kids than actually anger them by playing defense. Much less touching them without their permission. Those were different times.

You have to be kidding? That team would rip apart any European national team you can throw at them. Magic, Jordan, Bird etc playing as a team? Please, no one else would stand a chance. Autograph hunting or not.

Do you even watch basketball?

Anyways...

C: Amare Stoudemire | Brad Miller
PF: Elton Brand | Chris Bosh
SF: LeBron James | Shawn Marion | Shane Battier
SG: Kobe Bryant | Dwyane Wade
PG: Chauncey Billups | Chris Paul | Joe Johnson

I figured give the extra spots to Battier and Johnson because they're sort of utility players who could come in and do a specific job if required. Johnson especially, since he could easily play PG/SG/SF if someone went down with an injury. Ideally I'd have 1 more shooter but I hear Michael Redd isn't going to play.

Edit: Chauncey's not playing? Awell, new line:

PG: Chris Paul | Gilbert Arenas | Joe Johnson
